So nice to be able to park next to your cabin
    Ronda L.

Beautiful place!! We definitely come back here when we are in the area. The cabin is nice, clean. We are from a big city and traveling with our dog. We didn't want to stay in a hotel, this place was perfect. We got the outdoor feeling yet not far from the city. We went to Wal-Mart and Whole to buy food and it was perfect . We did eat out a few times. But it was being in vacation but feeling like your home!!! We even did a bonfire one evening, it was beautiful. We like it so much we extended our stay by 2 more days!! Thank you to the staff.

This was a super cute place to stay, a little ways from the city of Asheville. We stayed in cabin #1 which will sleep 2 people. It's closest to the road so you do hear some traffic but it's not too bad. This cabin was built in 1929 so if you are wanting 5 star accommodations this probably isn't the place for you. The floor tilts a bit so the bed does not sit even, with didn't bother me at all but it did my husband. There isn't much water pressure for a shower but we made it work. There is a cute kitchen with everything you would need to cook a meal. They also have a charcoal grill outside of each cabin. All in all we are glad we stayed here, it was nice to not stay in a typical hotel room for a change. Was nice to sit out on front porch area and drink coffee in the morning or have a glass of wine at night. They do offer a military discount which we really appreciated!

We had such a great time staying at The Pines Cottages. We got lucky to book a cabin the week before Labor Day weekend. Being that there is Military discount and dog friendly, there was no hotel that could accommodate our needs. We would have paid the same price at a hotel if not more for way less of an experience. We accidentally drove into the Log Cabin Motor Court upon first arrival, but just a little down the road is the actual spot, I will warn that the sign is a little hard to see as the font is small, but it lights up for night time, and they have little lanterns to guide you up the hill. We were greeted by a very nice woman at the reception desk, who gave us a map of the city and showed us where our cabin was located. We stayed in cabin 14, which looked like the best cabin to have. It is the furthest away from other cabins and people, which is just what we were looking for. They warn you about road noise because the cabin is right next to the highway, but it really wasn't too bad. Our cabin had a separate bedroom, where I guess others are connected to the living room. This was nice because it seemed like an actual house, but unfortunately the A/C is located only in the living room and doesn't really hit the bedroom. Thankfully they provide a nice standing fan to help cool the room down. I loved the kitchen, it was so convenient to cook breakfast before the long hikes we did that weekend. My only warning here is to play with the stove. I thought it didn't work for a while because there are no settings on the dial, but finally I found the right heat and was able to cook with no problems. The full size fridge was great too, we could have stayed a long time. We only got to stay 2 nights, but it was really worth it. I would stay at these cabins again in a heartbeat, even with the minor flaws, it was a fantastic experience!

This place is really cute, but in my opinion expensive for what it is. I paid $122 a night and it's a little dirty with a super soft bed and not even a blanket. My shower leaked everywhere and one day they didn't clean at all. It's a woodsy, rustic feel, but by the highway. I loved that they were very dog friendly. Idk, I would stay again if it was like $80 a night.

Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible. It's amazing to see the talent, from young adults to experienced artists. Some of the displays look incredibly realistic. I added photos, and hopefully the video of the grand prize winner shows as well, it's truly impressive. We walked around the rest of the hotel for a while and then stopped for lunch (see my restaurant review). The food was excellent. We hope to return one day and stay here. I'd also love to come back and play a round of golf here.

The overall property, golf course are exceptional. We woke up to a Rafter of wild turkeys in the tee box out our windows!! Our suite was very warm and welcoming. The only issue the needs immediate attention is the pillows. four of us all said the same at breakfast. The last morning, my Wife woke up to a Brown Recluse spider (arguably Deadly). That wasn't the worst of it, the management reaction was apathetical at best. They said their Pest control expert deemed it a wolf spider, still a nasty bite but won't kill you! Every one I showed the pictures from their wall said absolutely a Brown Recluse. After leaving messages with his underlines, with out response, I finally called Cezar, the GM, personally, he had the same attitude, ho hum. Long and short of it, before you book your event at this location, consider if apathy is what you want of a managerial support staff. The attached pics are of the spider in our room, and a wolf for comparison. Google Brown Recluse, and wolf spider images. I have traveled the world in five star hotels, never imagined this management Teams response, or lack of it! Too may Great choices out there.

I ended up lining up our extra pillows under my duvet and was able to sleep ok that way. The noise level - cool but old building equals creaky floors, thin walls, and in our 2nd room, loud pipes. Our first room was so loud above we couldn't even enjoy tv at night let alone sleep (of course we had someone who seemed to be logging steps all evening and throughout the night). Positives: Breakfast - we included breakfast with our booking thru Hotels.com, and very glad we did. Service was slow but very friendly. Although I didn't believe them at first, included is any breakfast you want. You order anything off the menu and they remove the tabs from your bill. All the food we had over 3 mornings was fabulous. The water - filtered (and sparkling) water station in the lobby. We stopped by and filled up each day. Service - every employee was friendly and helpful. They happily moved us from a 2nd floor to top after night one was too loud. Restaurant staff always nice, valets were friendly. Great location - easy in and out, perfect location to roam downtown, loads of good restaurants nearby Rooms - decent sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy pillows, power curtains and large windows. Overall after I crafted my own soft mattress and relocated to a top floor room, we ended up having a great stay.

They took our luggage across to the Manor and it was in our room before we were even there. Not only was it a beautiful and comfortable place to stay, but they made our dog, Hagrid, feel so welcome (see the photos). I booked a one-night stay at the Grand Bohemian on New Year's Eve, using points along with an elite night upgrade award. From the moment you arrive, the hotel is impressive. The drive-up experience feels like you're entering the hotel itself. The valet service was outstanding -- they handled our luggage and belongings with great care and provided clear, helpful instructions on where to go for check-in. Walking through the front doors, you're greeted by a large open fireplace with chairs and couches surrounding it, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The associate at check-in was excellent. She thanked us for being Titanium members, provided water, and clearly explained where our room was located. We took some time to walk around the hotel, especially since it had been closed due to last year's flooding. The restoration work was impressive -- floors and walls had been replaced, and much of the décor had either been cleaned or fully refreshed. The hotel looks amazing. We then went up to our second-floor king suite, and it was exceptional. Straight ahead was a large bathroom, with a deck and minibar to the left. Waiting for us was a board with chocolate-covered strawberries and a handwritten card wishing us a happy anniversary and my wife a happy birthday -- a very thoughtful touch. The view from our window overlooked the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. While waiting for our luggage to arrive, we turned on the 65" wall-mounted TV and took in the room. When the luggage arrived, it was promptly unloaded, clothes were hung in the closet, and everything was placed neatly -- truly excellent service. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. We had a late checkout, so we slept in, went downstairs for breakfast before it ended, then returned to the room for a nap before checking out. Breakfast was very good -- see my separate Yelp review of The Red Stag for details. Overall, this is an outstanding hotel. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you're well taken care of, and everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome. Yes, it's expensive -- but the level of service and attention to detail make it worth it. We will absolutely stay here again, or at one of the other Grand Bohemian hotels.

The Princess Anne is an old building and though generally well-maintained, isn't immune to the occasional odd creak. Our room was, overall, fairly spacious (it included a kitchenette and dining/TV area), the bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should.
