I've passed by this gas station a multitude of times and haven't ever needed to make a stop. Decided to check it out recently. I wish I had stopped in sooner. Their soup and salad bar is quite a lovely surprise. Perfect for grabbing a healthier lunch on the go. They have ready made sandwiches and Chester's Chicken that I have yet to try. The price is a little high for the salad bar, $10.99/lb, though it's better tasting than some of the salad bars out there. Salad dressing is Ken's, by the way. Soup containers are 3 sizes with smallest at $4.99. I had the Italian Wedding Soup. The food was delicious. I plan to stop in every time I'm in the area. read more

First time visiting The Pit Stop on our way to Bates Nut farm, it's on the corner of Valley Center road. You can't miss it; it's huge! Plenty of parking and gas stalls; it was pretty busy with lots of cars. When I entered the store, it was massive! So many snacks, merch, drinks, beers and liquor for sale. The store is very clean and up-kept. The prices for the hot food were not bad! Very affordable but the snacks were moderately priced. There's a Chester food joint inside of this store as well, I opted for the Chester's bowl. It's just like KFC famous bowl but with better quality ingredients. Customer service at Chester's was great but slow; they paid attention to details. The pit stop hot food included soups, hot dogs etc. I had the hot dog, it was a little on the overcooked side and their bun was very dry; even though it was individually packaged. I wouldn't go back for their hot dogs. Customer service on the store side was fast; not much interaction but it was fast lol. I used this gas station anytime I am in the area. I live in Julian California. It's good Sunoco gas. They keep their prices reasonable. Staff is always friendly and professional. Ive been going to Horizon since the day it opened. I'm giving it 3 stars for the gas prices and store. But the pumps here are garbage. It takes forever to fill up and you have to sit and hold it the entire time because none of the auto lock latches work. With new AMPM now open I'll likely start going there as they have about the same prices and their pumps are fast and work as you would expect. And their store is nice and carries everything you need and want. read more

Cheaper gas and convenient as it is the closest one if you're up here gambling in Valley View Casino and further. Considering it is the only one, I would think they are going to jack up the price, but they didn't, you got an option to pay for your gas with cash which you have to get inside the store, or you can just play with the touch screen and pay with your credit card. The only issue here is the hose cannot extend enough if your car is on the other side, the hose was short and very flimsy, by the time you get back to your car and move closer, your transaction already canceled, you need to insert your credit card and redo it again, but you can't beat the price here on tribal land read more

It's about time Valley View Casino and Hotel had a gas station nearby! And from the looks of the number of cars waiting to get gas in the very large Horizon Fuel Center, it's a hit. First, the gas was still under $4/gallon when the average price of gas in around $4.50ish. There were at least 20 pumps to get gas. A few of them were closed though causing a bit of a backup, but it definitely rivaled Costco in terms of the number of cars waiting for gas. However, I was hungry and ran out of food comps from the casino so needed to buy a snack. The place is super clean and well laid out. They had a mix of grocery items along with usual gran and go food items. I opted for a premade turkey sub which would be easy to eat in the car. Prices are on par with quick convenience stores. All was good until I bit into the turkey sub and found the middle of it frozen! I basically got one bite out of it. Since the outside was soft, I assume they were delivered frozen and just hadn't been out enough. Still, it was kind of annoying as it took about an hour to thaw so I could eat it. So much for quenching my immediate hunger. Still, it's a nice addition to Valley Center. I'm sure I'll visit again as my monthly trips to Valley View will never stop. read more

Just want to say that the employees at the pit stop are always super nice and helpful. I go here 3+ time a week. Great snacks and cheap gas!!! Don't go to the Qdoba inside though. Trust me!! Now I have read the reviews and decided that all 5's wasn't a fair review of this particular Pit Stop fuel/mart! Yes, it has the cheapest fuel of all the tribal property gas stations! And it does have a different style of "fast food" that we tried 2 times 3 weeks apart. Both times the food selected was tasty! Now, the not so good part of our visits, 1. Could not get propane refills the last 2 times in 2 weeks because "they didn't have the attachment to fill the small bottles. And the excuse today was (after waiting 25 mins after being told someone would be out), the manager said "I am understaffed"........not even a sorry......and when I asked if I should get propane elsewhere, he said "that's your choice"...... 2. when we got food.....the first time......we had to wait 15 mins standing there watching the employee help another employee with stocking supplies duties during the process of assembling our order....the result was tasty food that was missing some stuff....... the 2nd time we ordered food, we had time to wait.....and again it took 15 mins to get our order and it was tasty and complete. 3. of the 15 times we have stopped there since it's opening, the pumps only worked with credit cards 8 times. The other times you have to go inside and prepay.... 4. the cash registers......when you have to prepay inside, the line is really long. The cashiers are pleasant but not customer service trained.....we were in line with about 10 other folks and there were 3 cashiers, one finished with a customer and went to the counter behind and drank her drink and then began a conversation with someone else behind the counter laughing while they both looked over at the line and kept talking...... These are some of our experiences....I always remember, businesses need our money! But, I can choose which business to give my money to! Late at nite and not on Friday, Saturday, Sunday are the best times to get in and get out! Again........they have the cheapest fuel around and they have 110 Octane leaded racing fuel at $7.68 per gallon! Cheaper than $27 per gallon at Home Depot for chain saws and weed walkers! Projectile vomiting from QDOBA on 9/04/2022. Long story short- the beans didn't taste right. Never mind the woman at the drive up who was exceedingly nasty. One minute I am laughing, and the next thing I know, I am barfing in my bathroom sink. The only thing I ate before that was a an apple. The health department was notified. read more

Rude lady working the register at 10:32 am on Sunday 11/6/2022. Asked if I could use the air machine which 90 percent of gas stations offer as complimentary. She said "4 quarters and looked as if I was annoying her". Since the valley view casino owns this place, you'd think they'd offer some air since they're taking people for money everyday at the casino. Just don't come here for anything. Originally, this was a great place to get gas at an affordable price. Either the maintenance of the pumps or poor management has really hurt this business. After waiting in line for 20 minutes for gas, an employee came outside with a roll of yellow caution tape and stated that their distributor "broke something" and they had a gas leak so the "7" pumps out of about 20 were shut off! Also, to slow the process down even more, the computer for credit/debit cards was not working. Will reconsider my choice of gas stations in the near future. read more
