Decided to ad a carwash after I fueled my car. You press the preferred option, and I selected the $20 option- Gold Wash. The receipt didn't come through, so I had to go to the store to retrieve it- pretty inconvenient! The entrance to the carwash required two employees- one to punch in the numbers on the machine, the other to guide you into the wash- while she sprayed som soapy liquid on my windshield. The wash itself went quick- it wash pretty rough sounds from the brushes and the drying was effective, because my car shook. I drive a 4 Runner so a pretty sturdy SUV. Got home, parked in the garage and HAD A SHOCK WHEN I SAW THE OIL SPLATTER ON MY CAR (it is white) My car wash dirty prior, but this was unbelievably. I had to hand wash my car afterwards! Seriously not happy with the result and will never go back to the Horizon Carwash. I do NOT recommend this business. read more

Indian reservations are not required to use gasoline vapor recovery systems. The air auto smells like newer from the nearby field. In California, gas stations are typically required to use vapor recovery systems--like the Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) or Onboard Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) systems--to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping into the air during fueling. These systems reduce smog and protect public health. However, gas stations on tribal lands (Indian reservations) fall under federal jurisdiction rather than state. That means California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations may not apply, unless the tribe voluntarily adopts them or is working in cooperation with the state. Aka horizon gas is cutting corners and doesn't care about your health. It also likely means this is not top tier gas since they're not complying with CARB Instead, use the gas station at harrahs casino down the street. Those do use vapor recovery, and it used to be a shell gas station, so you know it's top tier gas. And it smells like orange blossoms at night. read more

I stop to put gas at 9:45pm. I paid cash, the cashier asked me if I want my receipt. I said no I didn't know they close at 10:00pm I have $2.00 dollars left and didn't want to top it up. When I went to get my cash the door was closed they didn't get close to heard what I need. So instead of saving money I end up paying $6.00 dollars per gallon. I know that's not a lot of money and I'm coming from San Diego. What makes me upset is that the cashier should told me that they were closing soon because when you pay cash your estimating how much it will take to fill the tank and not to even care to try to pay me when they know there was money left in the pump. I wish they would have a sign at the pump. read more

Prices are usually 30 cents cheaper than Costco, but is it worth the long drive just for cheap gas? Probably not.. While the big boys (Mobil, Chevron, She'll, etc) keep emptying our pockets without even a "thank you", this spot will let your dollar go an extra mile and then some. Yes, it's out in Valley Center. Went to get gas at 8:30 am on 09/01/22 When I went inside to pay there were 20 plus in line they had one person on the register and one stocking shelves after a while the person stocking shelves came over and started helping on the other register. Pumps too often coned off due to not reliable and malfunctioning, today 9 pumps blocked off DEF pump has been unavailable every attempt made (7 now). And the first time it did work it didn't stop and went everywhere which is why Cat Liter is all over the place! Today again, the non coned off pumps were only taking indoor payments, One register open and 11 people waiting to pay for gas causing a standstill outside at the pumps and nothing but frustration. Cheap Gas? Yes.... consistently almost a dollar cheaper per gallon that most anywhere within reasonable distance.But...they are out of the way, for even alot of folks that live up where in Valley Center. No starts off for that, just is what it is kinda thing. The good (Aside from the cheaper gas), is this place is pretty big, tons of pumps with ample room to maneuver around. There is also a set of dedicated pumps for diesel big rigs and trailers and such so they can use their different gas tanks and not block a bunch of pumps for us mere mortals. The snack shop also has a great selection of beverages and snacks, and the recently fully open Qudoba nice to have as well. The staff gets you in and out fast, which is also helpful. The bad...though... even though they have a tone of pumps here, I haven't been here one time yet where they all appear to be working. There is most always a set of cones blocking a pair or two of pumps. This...combined with the high demand for the cheap gas...means there is lines here pretty much whenever you go by at normal hours. So I have often opted for slightly more expensive gas, just to not spend 20min fighting to fill up. So yea.... good and bad, but both can change, so...fill er up and good luck out there! read more

Only good thing about this place is the price, if you're able to pump any gas at all (as many people have mentioned). Plenty of times the pump pos won't accept card payments, certain fuels won't pump, or the pumps altogether will be down. Happens more often than not. Also it's a clusterfuck as it's not unidirectional and entitled assholes will when often cut those that have been waiting. This place could definitely use some work. read more

The pro about this place is the fuel is cheap. But there is always a lot of pumps not working altogether or the credit card machine isn't working at the pump. There's no traffic control so it's a free for all. Plan on 30 mins to get fuel. read more

I drove up here from Escondido, not that far and it was worth it as I saved 50 cents per gallon . And there was no extra charge for using the card. I could not get the pump to work which was a little frustrating so I asked one of the guys inside and he explained it to me. After that I was able to pump the gas. This review is for the market side of the business. They don't show the prices of anything on the floor so when you get to the register all you get is a total, which is around double, or even more, than normal convenient store prices. We had an Arizona ice tea and another Sobe type fruit drink and the total came to just over $6. These drinks are 99c, to $139 tops at any 7Eleven or Circle K. So they are kinda scaming their customers who come inside. Gas prices are no doubt the lowest, but skip going into the market or you will wait in long lines and pay the highest prices pretty much canceling any savings you get on the gas. read more
