Here you go: Baba Ghanouj, Hommos, Fool M'Dammas, Labeh, Grape Leaves, Falafel, Spinach Pie, Sambousick Cheese, Kibbeh, Sambousick Meat, Tabouleh, Avocado Salad, Moujadra, Beef, Chicken. Halal meat. I'm a little bit of a creature of habit with the Hommos, Avocado Salad, and Falafel. I've also had the Chicken Swarma, Beef Swarma, Sambousik Cheese, Sambousik Meat, Kibbeh, and Grape Leaves. They are all really good. The Falafel and Hommos are just must haves...so good. I really enjoy the Avacado Salad too. The Sambousik options are good but I think I prefer the Cheese. We decided to stop into The Pita House after walking around Old Town. It was about 1 on a Saturday and they weren't busy, so we got seated immediately. We decided to get a few appetizers to share. I really loved the grape leaves, they were so good. I also loved the falafel, and I'm not usually the biggest falafel fan. For my entree, I got the chicken shawarma sandwich which had so much flavor. I didn't get it but they did have platter options that let you get 3 to 5 different items, and I think next time I'd try that. It is remarkable that such a simple dish can taste so good. Well, the Pita House hummus is spot on, with all the creamy and savory goodness you expect. It was served with...you guessed it...Pita!! For our lunch entrees, my wife selected the chicken salad and I selected the Gyro salad. Both salads came with a healthy portion of protein and delicious tahini and tzatziki sauce, respectively. I literally took ONE bite of the very unimaginative and lackluster salad threw it away--well packed it up for the trash can. The service was absolutely horrible. I waited at the door to be seated for an unusually long time. And it was a Friday evening! There was one other table dining. In retrospect, that should have told me something. This is based on a takeout order. I have had shawarmas literally all over the world. Whoever gives this place rave reviews tells me they don't know anything about food and will eat anything given to them. To echo my wife's description/review, the food (especially the shawarma) is horrid. It literally tastes like processed junk out of a can. Whoever marinated the chicken shawarma needs to be fired for the amount of lemon in it and how unbalanced the ingredients were. Heck I'll come and teach you guys how to make a shawarma. The beef? Let's not even go there. If anyone has watched Soylent Green they'll know what I'm talking about. The baba ghanoush and grape leaves also tasted like what you'd get anywhere else ie nothing freshly prepared. Wow! Talk about a flavor profile! The Pita House has so much to offer and at such great prices. This family owned business has a great selection of traditional Lebanese/Middle Eastern dishes. The service was friendly and offered lots of suggestions from the menu. I settled on the Fatteh Blahmeh which consisted of lamb, rice, yogurt, almonds and crispy pita. We were looking for a lunch spot. This place had a lot of vegetarian items so it won us over since today is "vegetarian" day. We were greeted and seated quickly outside by a very friendly and outgoing jokester server. We didn't catch the gentleman's name. The gyro sandwich was excellent. It wasn't in the traditional thick pita rolls I've had in the past. There wasn't a lot of tzatziki sauce like I'd like and no spicy sauce (sriracha?) either. But that could be because it was in its most authentic form? Idk. Nonetheless, it was still juicy and flavorful. Would certainly order it again. We also had a side of fries that were nice and crispy.
