I enjoyed eating my Perfect Pita which was the TCB Chicken and Route 99 BBQ chips. Food was a solid four. The service was chilled the ladies greeted and took the order. I thought well what a great experience overall. They appeared to perk up at different times during my visit, which was interesting to see. I have been coming here for years. I have tried the Gyro, Steak and Cheese, Breakfast and Tuna Pitas. All are delicious but my most frequent buy is the regular Gyro Pita. When I call ahead my orders are always ready when I arrive. The ladies are always friendly. I've been eating at this Perfect Pita location for 25 years and love it today as much as I did then. I love everything on the menu from the unctuous Chicken & Spinach Pita, to the remarkably Italian Boardwalk Pita (with red wine vinaigrette), to the monstrous Hummus Veggie Pitas (how do they jam a whole salad in that little pita?), the fresh Gyro Pita with the sumac marinated onions, the generous Mediterranean Samplers and the extraordinary Hummus that you can only get at Perfect Pita. They've ruined me for all other Hummus at this point, seriously. For pickier eaters, like my husband, the individual pizzas never disappoint. I love everything on their menu but I do miss a couple of pitas that came and went that I would love to see back as 'specials' some day: the Lentil Pita and the Smoked Salmon Pita with Fresh Salsa. The Lentil Pita was filled with delicious seasoned lentils that were just damp enough that when baked in the pita would reanimate the dough in such a way that I truly believed there was cheese in there. It was so hearty and filling on a winter afternoon. The Smoked Salmon Pita was cold-smoked salmon (pricy I'm sure) probably with lettuce, onion and a side of the red salsa (Shepherd Salad). I got takeout this evening with some friends, so while I can't comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant itself, I can comment on the food. I got the grilled salmon pita. I'm not entirely sure what the sauce was that was included since I didn't see it listed in the item description, but it was pretty good. Likely a side-effect of ordering takeout, my pita was somewhat soggy by the time I got it home and started eating it. I enjoyed the pita itself--chewy and held together fairly well, though it did eventually fall apart in areas where more of the sauce absorbed into the bread. The salmon was well cooked--not dry or overdone--and there was a healthy quantity--making this priced very well. Iceberg lettuce and several tomato slices made up the rest of the sandwich. Solid for a stop in Alexandria if you're in the area, but nothing overly special. read more

The only issue I had was that there isn't any water that you can fill up to drink. I don't want to purchase a water since it is normally free at a restaurant. I ordered the veggie falafel pita without feta cheese. The falafel was well seasoned and decent, but the rest of it was just, meh. The hummus was a bit bland, the cheap lettuce should be at the very least romaine, and there was no tzatziki since that was another $.50 upcharge. Considering I paid $7 for a pita without meat, I'd expect a little better quality than iceberg lettuce and shortchanging on the sauces. No israeli salad and the veggies were not even chopped up. They were sliced-- making the flavors blend less than if they were all chopped together. I will not be returning for mediocre, overpriced pitas. The food here is good but not necessarily what I was expecting of a pita place. Got the chicken gyro after reading the reviews but was slightly confused when my meal was a chicken hoagie in a pita, with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Where was the tzatziki it said it came with? The chicken is not over cooked like at a lot of fast food-ish places and there was definitely a lot of it, but it also didn't have the flavor of gyro meat. My taste buds said the combo worked, but my mind was playing tricks on me (Geto Boys...anyone? anyone?) -- that's not how a gyro is supposed to be. Didn't want to judge too quick so I went back for a pita sandwich. Figured it has "pita" in the name just like the place, so maybe it'll meet my expectations. Chose the falafel which came with hummus, cheese, tomato, cucumber and lightly grilled green bell peppers. The bell peps were a nice touch and the flavor of this worked a lot better for my mind/belly. And then I felt just like a fiend, it wasn't even close to Halloween (ok, dating myself again with the old school lyrics). Not exactly sure why the pita sandwich was more expensive than the gyro-hoagie at $6.50, esp since it's veg. But it was tasty and I'll prob go back for it again since it's so close to home, plus seemed a lot healthier than the uber mayo/meaty gyoagie. Pita puuuurfection! This might be the second best thing about doing "professional development" courses in Alexandria (eating by the river would be first). When I found out my company would comp my lunch, I tossed my bagged lunch and ran for the Perfect Pita, two days in a row. Yesterday, I got the chicken hummus pita, which was so overwhelming: so warm; the pita so crisp; with grilled chicken, red onions, green peppers, feta, and lucious hummus that leaves that smoky flavor aftertaste. Mmmmm... Problem was, I don't think I can process feta, so although the sandwich was damn tasty, I wouldn't recommend it to my fellow lactose intolerants (You'll be *begging* for a trip to the loo. Quel uncomfortable.) Today, I went with the Sir Ceasar, basically, a chicken Ceasar salad in a pita. Delicious! The only thing I would have done differently was gotten chunks of chicken instead of slices, but other than that, it was tastytasty, well seasoned, and the dressing was so creamy and delightful. The fact that there's nowhere to sit inside the Perfect Pita is so not a minus. I'd recommend taking your sandwich down to Tide Locke park, sitting by the Potomac, and letting the wind caress your face as you stuff it with pita deliciousness. read more

White pizza with chicken is really good and it comes with hummus to dip your crust ! This is a walk in place with no seating so If its cold out and you don't have a local office to go back and eat at you'll end up sitting in your work van and grubbing out like a loser...Yep , thats what I have to do, but its worth it. Pretty good pita! It was more americanized, but still delicious. I had the Turkey Hummus Veggie which was definitely filling and flavorful. The items in the menu are however a tad pricey. Then again, they do load up their pitas to the point before they start to explode. I'm in love with their motto: "You are what you eat, so why not be perfect?" Besides the restaurant itself, the location is a pain to get to. The parking right in front of the restaurant is reserved for Sports and Health club members only. I ended up parking at the Target on Skyline Drive... after having to get a ticket on the way in (never done that for a Target before). There is a wide variety of Salads, Hummus, Sodas and the like as well. They have a nice outside area for dining when the whether is good but the establishment itself is rather cramped. I will say I have had better gyros before but not in the DMV area as I don't think the DMV area particularly does well with this kind of food. This place is an excellent choice for lunch and I'm not really even sure if it's open for dinner. I'll confess, I'm a regular. They had me at "BLT"... You get such good value at the perfect pita (which is why the place always has a good crowd ordering). BLT pita comes with a very generous portion of bacon. The Mediterranean sampler salad is also a favorite (generous size and comes with full pita). I'm basically back and forth between the two each week. Note, there is no seating available. Order at the counter and take it away. I had The Perfect Pita for the first time yesterday. They catered a lunch at my job. There was a few boxed lunches leftover so I ate the Sir Ceasar. OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was delicious! It was amazing pita bread, well-seasoned chicken, lettuce, dressing. It was filling and healthy. My boss even wondered where the lunches came from and how they compared price wise to other places we have cater.
