My prayer plant is still beautiful and strong. The price was reasonable and the pot a nice ceramic pot--a great addition to my living room.

Their parking lot is in the small side, but street parking is available. The front of the building looks like an unorganized version of Armstrong Garden Center as one side is lined with various empty pots and a pallet of their house bagged, special soil blend (I learned from another customer that this soil is one of the things LHN is known for). Once you move past that side things make a big jump for the better as you are faces with beautiful, healthy, mesmerizing dahlias. All sorts of vibrant colors and some of the flowers are the size of dessert/salad plates ~ truly stunning!! Once I tore myself away from these beauties, I made my way inside to the house plant section. Here I found some of the common items like spider plants, Boston ferns, and pothos, but also some beautiful, more unique plants plants such as the monstera Thai constellation, mini snow bush, pink variegated string of hearts, and angel wing begonias. All of the plants were full and healthy! I wanted them all, but house plants have become pricey and especially so for the uncommon ones, so I brought 2 home and I'll just need to come back for a few of the others I have my eye on. The mini snow bush I was unfamiliar with, so I asked the workers at the register for care instructions. They were very kind and knowledgable and gave me confidence to properly care for my newest treasures.

I recently stopped by to see if they had the same wood flooring as what I have at home. All I had was a photo, but one of the employees took the time to help me try to find a match. I wanted to take a couple of pieces home to compare, and since the material wasn't in the best condition, he offered to let me take them. Great customer service!

Am always searching for lights on the tree or the roof, to the ornaments, and life size balloon statues. But my favorite thing to shop for is the Christmas tree. My parents are gone now; but being a kid in that household with the pine smell was my favorite part of that holiday, even more than hearing the sappy Christmas songs like the Barking Dogs doing Jingle Bells and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer (j/K). They had at least three types of pine trees including Noble Fir but I prefer the bushier stronger smelling Douglas Fir. There is one other type of tree that I once bought - forgot the name. It rarely dropped needles but the smell was weak. They are priced by height, and I always choose with one unbundled with string because they are usually fresher. I shake it, and pick one as symmetrical as possible and drop the tree to see how much needles drop. There are low long carts to haul your tree to the register and offer to cut the bottom to size and also allow for better absorption of water. Going on a week day afternoon 10 days before Christmas is my usual strategy. Borrowing a friends truck, we hauled it into the living room and decorated immediately adding lots of water daily and placed away from any heater vents. Check out was easy. 4 days after Christmas and tree still looks and smells great. I am conscious about sustainability issues, but a fresh Christmas tree is one time I will violate that over a fake tree. But I always look for a recycler to return my tree after the holidays.
