Couple of stars for snaking a drain but egregious pricing and behavior. I appreciate the responsiveness of Austin, and Bobby who came was very nice, but despite Austin telling me "I have a guy in SLO right now who can come on over" my wife was charged for both snaking work and "drive time from *Nipomo*." I would never have agreed to "drive time from Nipomo" which is why I had Austin's guy in SLO come over, and chose The Plumber from half a dozen options. Not again. After the service was complete -- this conversation was recorded on my doorbell cam, so I had a chance to review -- Austin's tech plainly tells my wife that it's 1.5h of time because "we came from Nipomo." I complained to Austin afterward and received a mealy-mouthed answer that, well, yeah, Bobby was already in SLO. And it was "ten minutes of driving across town, ten minutes back," and....? I've never before paid for drive time back, or had time doubled / rounded up to an hour and a half. Our drain snaking took 38 minutes from arrival to departure, inclusive of conversation about the usurious rate. My wife was taken advantage of and instead billed for 1.5h of time plus the "snaking fee." This is twice the price of any prior similar service I have ever had (many times in SLO), and more to the point, absolutely unacceptable chicanery. read more

I described the project in detail and was told the cost would be about $150. Plumber showed up on time to replace an in-wall valve to the fireplace and told me it would be about $225-$250 including repairing the drywall afterwards plus parts. I repeated what I was quoted (and that I would repair the drywall) and he made a call. Came back in and said $225. I had him do the work and he charged me $250. Nice enough guy, but if someone quotes a price, try to stay in the neighborhood. Sorry but I cannot recommend the plumber. read more

First the good: Austin came out as soon as we called and installed a tankless water heater. He did a very professional job and was knowledgeable about every facet of the install. We're very pleased. The not so good: Austin said that So. Cal Gas had a rebate on the tankless and promised he would submit all necessary paperwork. The rebate check should arrive in about six weeks. That was Aug. 2, 2021 and now October, no rebate. Repeated attempts to contact Austin have had no results. So, if you want a rebate on a tankless install, do the application yourself. read more
