(With no moisture meter) Homeowner will grow a ton of mold due to your non professional incorrect advice. Avoid them at all cost! Please I beg you!! First off they will charge $25 just to show up. Never heard this one before. So let's get started on my experience. The person shows up wants to pull the toilet and run the line for a clogged toilet. Their asking $197 to run the line and $200+ just to pull the toilet. I advised I will pay to run the sewer line but not pull the toilet. The guy just left didn't do anything. Why? I suspect end of the day and lazy. You are warned. read more

We could not be happier with the help we got from Kevin and his crew! We live in a house that was built in 1906 and for some reason they didn't put a cleanout drain in back then. So when we had some problems, another plumbing team had to pull the toilet out to clean the roots out of our pipes. But we needed a permanent solution, and with the help of their camera, they were able to figure out what the problem was and fix it --- so we now have access to our plumbing system as it is indicated in the picture. I think the landscaping with the rocks they found under our house was a final nice touch!! Extremely fast and did a great job of communicating the whole job to us. Yes! PROFESSIONAL, HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, REASONABLE RATES!! We live in a house that has a (high pressure) sewage lift station using Liberty pump system. I wish we had found Power Plumbing sooner!!! Extremely knowledgeable on home sewage pump systems / lift stations. Before contacting Power Plumbing we had called nearly twenty plumbing business serving SLO each and every time being told that the business either did not work on pumps/lift stations, referred to other plumbers that also did not or would not work on lift systems or leaving messages that were not returned. It was extremely frustrating. Power plumbing arrived as scheduled with in 24 hours of first call. Was professional, worked efficiently and was honest and fair. With the situation we had, one pump not working on a alternating two pump system and malfunction of the auto pump on and off auto switching I was worried this could be a very costly repair. The plumber fairly quickly was able to find we had one bad pump switch and one bad mercury switch, a much more reasonable repair than I was afraid it could have been. I could have easily been overcharge for un-necessary work and not even known, but Power Plumbing was fast to diagnose, got necessary replacement parts locally same day and charged me a very reasonable price. So impressed I had the plumber look at another low priority plumbing issue I had been avoiding to address and was given a very reasonable quote for the job. So impressed with Power Plumbing's knowledge, honesty, and very fair rates I will only be using them for my future plumbing needs. Whole heartily recommended! read more

My understanding is that this business purchased Wid's Plumbing, who my family had previously always (happily), done business with. However, Wid retired, leaving us in a loop! We have a high volume of plumbing needs, as my father owns a car wash in down town slo. Fast forward to last evening, 06.23.21, a friend of mine was over helping with dog care & noticed that my water heater was leaking. I called my father, he called Power Plumbing this morning, and they came out about 11:00am to replace my water heater. I have 2 rambunctious Pit Bulls. I introduced myself & both dogs to the plumber, explained that I'd keep them indoors until he was done, and explained where the water heater is. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. He never told me what he had done, or even that he was done and leaving.. Is that good business? Thankfully my father is closing the car wash on June 30th, and I'll never have to refer anyone to a plumber again! God I miss Wid!!! read more

Welp, referencing Lisa B's review of 9/16/2021, in late 2020 we had some extremely expensive plumbing for a bathroom remodel done by this company and wound up with hot and cold reversed at the kitchen sink. We decided to live with it, not knowing that the bathroom remodel, which was torn apart with no fixtures in and therefore not testable, was also reversed hot and cold lines. We have just completed this remodel two years later, and guess what, a thermostatic shower valve will not work when an error of this kind is in play. A second plumbing company had to reverse the plumbing for the sink, tub, toilet, and shower. Yes, the toilet. Hot water in a toilet will destroy its innards, did you know that? Fortunately the bathroom had just barely been in use before these issues were discovered. A shower that only produces scalding makes for quick discovery. Needless to say, we will not be return customers. read more

WOKE UP TO A DISASTER IN A STORM . Shocked to find hot steamy water feverishly mingling with cold stormy rain water...what the... Water heater died. Saturday. Called most of the places opened on weekend Listed online got only vmail. UNTIL the angel of a dispatcher, Jim answered the phone. A real live human being voice from a human mouth in real time!!! I now Have a rocking "Star Wars" type water heater with lots of fancy things like an oil catcher so if it ever explodes it won't poison the water on our planet. Toilets would not work. Not a pretty sight. Called Power Plumbing, Kevin came out to our place, pulled the covers off the septic tanks, assured us that the problem looked like a relatively easy fix, and it was...one of our visitors had flushed a wet wipe...bad bad bad company...clogged up our old mobile home pipes. Our refrigerator filtration system broke, started flooding our home, and we had to shut off water to our entire house. We called around trying to find someone who sounded reliable and knowledgeable. After 2 other companies left a bad taste in our mouths, we called Power Plumbing for emergency help. We spoke to Bobby. Bobby walked us through trying to turn off the valve behind the refrigerator but it was stripped. He then guided us through a few different steps to temporarily shut the water down to the affected pipe until they could come out and fix the problem permanently. Bobby was professional, patient, reliable and spot on with every step he instructed us through. Save your money get a private company. It appears they subcontract various plumbers or plumber apprentices. We haven't used them in 2 years but still find crap that wasn't done right. Every time we called, get a different plumber who are not qualified to determine problem in kitchen sink. Kept getting delayed that day hour by hour, finally showed up at 6pm. Look at sink said didn't know why it leaked. I said that's why we call you to troubleshoot, you are the plumber not us. Then when they installed our brand New dishwasher, a different guy. he asked if we wanted an air vent, which he said isn't necessary. Well Ca code it is,and ever since installed it gurgles during cycle and a bit of water remains in bottom. Also he didn't attach it correctly as it was rocking from underside of cabinet within 2 months. My husband had to adhere it correctly having spending over 200 with them. Keep in mind our house is in excellent shape, not run down. Just plumbing hard for my husband with the crawling under sink etc. we found a great neighborhood plumbing company. Which I will mention on their page. But wait there is more, we had them install new faucet in our little bathroom. I come home from work And the hot and cold were on opposite, turn right handle and hot water left is cold. Come on. Really. I'm an out-of-town owner of a property in SLO where my daughter goes to Cal-Poly. The shower in the house had a drainage problem that my general contractor tried to clear, but wasn't successful. He suggested I call Power Plumbing and said they've been his "go-to" plumbers for years. I was a tad nervous to call them since they didn't have any Yelp reviews. I had no better options though, so I called. The owner answered the phone immediately, and said he could have someone out at my preferred time of 10am. At 9:59, the plumber called my cell, saying he was outside the door. Once inside, I verbally told him how to get to the bathroom which had the problem. We hung up so he could work. Twenty minutes later, the worker called me back and said he was able to pull up clumps of hair and gunk from the drain, had cleaned it all out, and had water blasting away and draining fine. I could actually hear the water draining over the phone. Before hanging up, I asked him to check all the other sinks, toilets and showers in the house. He did that while on the phone and I could hear him testing and "approving" each one. -------------- Afterwards, I sent an SMS to the girls in the house and they all replied, delighted to have all the drains working. Geez, that was easy and the price was fair. If the girls are happy, I'm happy, and Power Plumbing gets its first review: an easy 5 stars! read more

My 11 year old water heater failed. I read reviews on YELP and decided to place a call at 10:00p.m. and leave my message to "Power Plumbing". I received a call-backl the next A.M. Kevin arrived at my door at 9:00 A.M. He took a look at everything, than explained my best options. The heater was past it's prime so a new 50 gallon heater was ordered- and available. The heater arrived and was installed the next day by Kevin and his assistant. It was a tight fit in the heater closet. Kevin did some tidy work welding on new copper lines to the new heater. I've used these guys three times over several years. While the service has gone down, the prices have gone up. The first time I was very impressed. Low service fee even on a weekend and they did a great job. The next time cost a little more, but I still thought the guy did a good job. The third time was the last time I'll be using them. I called in the morning and was told I was the next job in the schedule. After a couple hours, I called to see what the hold up was. They were still on the other job. Called again later in the afternoon as they still hadn't shown up. At that point I said it wasn't an emergency and I didn't want them showing up at the end of the day and then charging me overtime. Well guess what---that's EXACTLY what they did! Or tried to do. When I saw the OT on the bill I said forget it, I wasn't paying it. And they never even gave a reason for why they took all day to show up. read more

About 15 years ago a friend of mine recommended Power plumbing. She had some rentals that often needed work and she really liked power plumbing. We have a house built in the 60's and the plumbing has needed lots of work. We call a plumber at least once a year. About every 18 months our drain is clogged. Other plumbers had taken a toilet out in order to snake the drain. They said we apparently had no clean out opening (they call it something else, I'm not a plumber) Then a Power plumbing employee did some investigating by looking at other houses on the block to see where their clean-out was. With that information he was able to dig around in the grass in front of the house and find our clean out pipe. No more removing the toilet every 18 months. They discuss the options before deciding on a plan for complicated jobs. Their work is great. They clean up. They respond quickly. They are smart and friendly. What else can I say? Oh, the $8 a month loyalty program has paid for itself by far at our house. read more

Helped answer lots of questions of ours, and Kevin (i believe) worked SO hard and made sure he got the parts quick and got it all done on a saturday!! went above and beyond to get the right parts (i think their in house store was closed and he drove all around town to get it that day, so we didn't have to wait till monday!!) --was NOT an "hourly" job to the customer!!! Was by-the-job rate to customer, They wanted to check it out and estimate it before they called a flat price--so cool--with parts and labor included----CHEAPER FOR THE WHOLE JOB than another competing corp. company (RR) who charges time and a half just to walk in your door on a saturday---SO GLAD WE CALLED POWER PLUMBING INSTEAD! seriously though. i really like local businesses and supporting them.
