Can't really share my in-store experience as we just got this for delivery, but they prepped our bowls pretty fast so that counts for something. We ordered the small bowl which came w/two scoops. I'm not sure if it was just this day or the delivery app, but the choices were super limited so we ended up going with just two salmons. Not even tuna was offered and that's one of the most basic fish! Topped it off with all the fixins we could- which was the normal add-ons like: imitation crabmeat, seaweed salad, cucumber, edamame, etc. The lack of fish was disappointing. I could literally count how many pieces was in my bowl. And that supposedly came with two scoops. From what I did have in my bowl, the fish was pretty fresh & the toppings were good. The rice was a little overcooked. With so many other Poke places around SD, I wouldn't put the Poke Co on my list to try (again). read more

We were craving Poke and made a beeline over here. The parking lot in this strip mall / shopping center is huge, and it was easy to park. We walked over & were greeted cheerfully by the young employees working behind the counter. Some other reviewers mentioned that the service was meh, but I thought the three folks working were very helpful & sweet. We ordered a medium bowl & a large bowl. The medium bowl was pretty huge, so next time I'd probably get a small. I had the lava tuna, spicy tuna & shrimp over half rice & half salad. I appreciate that there is no upcharge for the first scoop of avocado! :) M. had the same as me with an extra scoop of spicy tuna. Our bowls were ready quickly & we brought them outside to enjoy. This was my first time trying Poke. A friend of mine that recommended that I give it a try. So we went on our dinner break. The vibe of the place was kinda meh, my friend wasn't super impressed, it has more of a fast food vibe. The service was nice though and the employees were kinda and we got our food pretty fast. The sukiyaki beef bowl was pretty good though! It was kinda hard to mix everything together and I was left with a lot of rice left at the end, but I would definitely go there again. I've ordered from Poke Co many times without any issues, but my recent Uber Eats order was a real disappointment. The white rice was surprisingly somehow only about 75% cooked--grainy and slightly crunchy. Since it was a quality issue, Uber Eats advised me to contact the restaurant directly. When I reached out, the manager immediately sent me back to Uber Eats, which ultimately after some back and forths offered just a $1.77 refund. The manager even mentioned in person that fixing the order would "cost too much" since it was "just a rice issue," which was surprising to hear. Quality issues happen, but the lack of accountability and customer care was the real problem. My wife and I ended up with a meal we couldn't eat and no support from the staff. I am a huge fan of poke. I remember going to The Poke Co when they first opened and I really enjoyed it. I still go to The Poke Co regularly, as it is next to my usual nail salon. I do like a lot of things about their variety of toppings, but over the past couple of years, service has been more hit or miss. This is the typical type of poke restaurant (choose you size, your base, your protein, sauces and toppings). I remember when they first opened, the employees seemed much more interested in the product. They would talk to me about the toppings and gave me ideas of which sauces mixed well together. I also like the fact that they have chopped radish and beets, which most poke places don't have. The don't charge for avocado, and they do have masago. I think what I don't like as much now, is that the employees seem generally disinterested. Once, I had to tell someone how to make the bowl (I think she was new), and another time I had to ask for more fish, as they were not filling the scoops nearly full enough. Also, just last week, one of the employees had filled a small container with my chosen fish and accidentally spilled into the vegetarian option of protein. He did add more fish, as I was watching, but then just removed the fish from the soy protein, which somehow felt wrong knowing that the person wording the soy was likely vegetarian or vegan. Also, I had joined their rewards program, but I have never received a reward, nor do I have I been given any indication of when I may receive one. All in all, this is still a decent place, but it has gone downhill from what it used to be. read more

Ordered The Poke Co online for takeout and didn't really experience the establishment itself. The serving was a good portion and the bowl was filled to the brim. The tuna was delicious and the highlight of the bowl. The sauce put in the bowl wasn't apparent and I had tried their signature sauce but really it added nothing and I found myself searching for sauce. So it made for an underwhelming experience. I had ordered the spicy salmon and salmon poke bowl with white rice and spring salad mix, topped it with crunchy onion (so addicting), edamame and cucumber, spicy Mayo and Hawaiian island dressing. My co worker had the same order as mine. I had ordered a dessert but they ran out of it and asked if I wanted something else in replacement. I said sure, I'm happy they solved the issue with replacing it with another item. The small Portion was super packed and topped with goodies! Worth the money. I wanted to ensure it had good flavor and couldn't decide which sauces. For the proteins, I had 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of octopus. The fish didn't take super fresh, nor terrible, but idk if the hour delivery played a role to that affect. The moment I walked in, I was hit with a nauseating stench of rotten fish -- like something had been dead in the walls for days. The place felt dirty, unkempt, and honestly unsanitary. It was my mistake for not double checking the order before I left the store, but, I've never had an issue with this location, so I left with confidence. Big mistake! They actually got my order wrong! I had ordered it with salmon & spicy salmon but a majority of the order ended up being tuna? How do you even get that wrong? I also ordered a the chips with it. The chips have always came in a separate bag of it's own when I order. For some reason, they decided to put it in the container with the rest of the order! I had soggy chips and was soo disappointed! Middle of the road poke but with a touch of pizzaz. not sure what it is? the friendly service, the very well sized portions, or the quality? All of this adds up to a better than standard experience. I go pretty standard, rice, avocado, 2 scoops salmon, 1 scoop ahi, spicy mayo and maybe the hawaiian sauce. It is FILLING. Always require a nap afterwords. Good thing we come on Saturday's after my son's swim practice. Think the medium bowl is what I get and it runs maybe $13-14. I frequently go to this Poke shop since 2022. When I lived in mission valley it was convenient but now it's on my way home from work. The Bowls here are good. Every time I've been the food has been fresh. Never had anything taste bad. I love their spicy mayo. I always ask for extra on my rice. I personally do not like wasabi but My boyfriend says they put a lot of wasabi on your bowl. However, I notice the wasabi I always on the edge of the bowl . There's only been one time since I've been going where they didn't have something available. They have Asian imported chips, milk teas, boba, fountain drinks and some canned/bottled drinks. The service is alright. Nothing that truly stands out about the employees . I've never had a bad experience but nothing is memorable. There's no connection between the employees and the customers.
