    Fish fry Friday

Fish fry Friday still on point. I took my uncles for lunch. One lives here, the other was here from Wisconsin. Both of them loved the meal. The batter is light, tartar sauce homemade and some of the best fries in the city. The spot was packed but we found the last booth.

My wife and I visited The Pony on a whim as we were in the downtown area. We are so happy we did. We walked into this open, nicely air conditioned bar that was very busy at 1:30 pm. The Pony is in downtown Cincinnati so parking is mostly found on the street or at a local garage. We got lucky and found a meter 2 blocks away. You order food at the bar and then the kitchen brings it out to your table. The process worked pretty well. We had the cheesteak sandwich, the roast beef on weck, and French fries. They were all superbly good. The rare roast beef on weck was a masterpiece. It wasn't a particularly large sandwich but every bite was a delight. The grilled onions and mayo brought the right touch of luciousness to the cheestake. The fries are hand cut, which is a nice touch. We will absolutely visit the Pony again, and hopefully just prior to a show at MOTR across the street.

Great dive bar atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday night, pretty late, and it was hopping. 90's country vibes and great bar food! Definitely worth a visit.

What a taste of Buffalo. The bartenders were very helpful and friendly. Great beef on weck and wings. I just need a Bills game and snow falling. When we are missing our hometown we will be back.

Super cool little bar! Great beer selection. The food is where this place shines. You may see a small food menu, but what is here is amazing. This place might just have the best chicken tendies known to man. I had a spicy honey mustard sauce with mine and it was epic. Service was amazing. The guys tending bar were super friendly. This place has a definite hipster vibe, which is fine by me. I will be definitely coming back next time I'm in Cincy.

Great burgers! My husband and I stopped in yesterday evening for burgers and cocktails. We both ordered them the same - Classic burgers with cheese, cooked medium. And fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly and quite good. Better than I expected from a bar. The fries were awesome too. The Manhattan was really good and my husband had a couple of beers he enjoyed. We'd stop in again when craving a good burger.

Bread: check Seasoning: check Cheese: check Mayo: check This small dive bar has limited seating space. There were only a couple tables available, seat yourself and order at the bar when your ready type deal. Okay, so we walk up and order, hang out, there are a few TV's hanging in front of the bar, very OTR. :) Our food comes out, looks good. Take a bite. Oh Em Gee! The perfectly butter-toasted, soft, warm hoagie bun combined with the mayo, cheese, onion and steak was like taking a trip through time back to when you can remember a childhood memory waking up to the news of an unexpected snow day. The layers of flavor unfolding, I truly do not think I've had a sandwich worthy. The crispy on the outside and soft potato on the inside potato sticks, are NOT "fry's," okay.. not over salted, undercooked, sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, McDonalds fry's.. these hand crafted, perfectly fried potato pieces are easily one of my favorite potato side. The Ranch and Creole Honey Mustard Sauces were great for dipping. I'd recommend ANYONE, to add this spot to your monthly stop.

Beef on weck- fries and wings that I'm told are flown in from Buffalo- the sauce is definitely franks base which is 100% correct

I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home. The gentleman running the place was super helpful even though he was managing the party and the remaining party guests as they cashed out with drinks to go. We will most definitely return!

I had never been before and the Turtle (their specialty item) was amazing! It's a tortilla stuffed with burrito-type fillings (choose your meat, they also have tofu) then they encase it in a seared cheese tostada. I.can.not.recommend.this.enough! It is around $9 and pretty big so its a good idea to split one. The beer selection was pretty meh (definitely not a wall of taps). Ended up getting a cheap Hudy Delight for $2 I think. I've made my way through the entire menu (food and drinks), and there honestly isn't a single item I wouldn't recommend. Everything is consistently spot on every single time. That kind of reliability is hard to find, and it's exactly why I keep coming back. That said, a few personal favorites stand out. The goat cheese flatbread appetizer is a non-negotiable. It's the kind of dish you order "for the table" but secretly don't want to share. The cacio e pepe and pasta rustica are also incredible and always hit. As for drinks, the seasonal espresso martini is always a go-to and never disappoints. But my personal favorite is either the regular old fashioned or, when I'm feeling myself, the wagyu old fashioned... especially if Scott is behind the bar. He clearly knows what he's doing, and it shows. The service is always warm, attentive, and consistent, which makes the whole experience even better every time. Like there were just a bunch of random options. I got the I don't goetta chopped cheese, which was really good and I also tried a chicken tender, which was pretty good even though it was in the shape of a very small nugget not as a tender as advertised. They didn't even have the piña colada's even though it was on the menu. But maybe it was a blessing in disguise because I got some sort of blended coffee drink with Bailey's instead, which was delicious!
