We had to go shorter on the cut than expected, but the bows & handkerchief were adorable. Her face cut came out great and those long eye lashes were intact. Lovely! She was pretty chill after she got home too, it was nice to see that response. I had gone to a different groomer before and it was not a great experience,they barely touched her face, just buzzed down the nose, but hair was still in her eyes! And then we were dealing with a mop-like beard, extra-long ear hair and an injured nail. But Beatyfur did a GREAT job! She refunded the money she charged us over the initial estimate. It's a start, I guess. She never offered an apology for any of it though, basically just said she wasn't responsible because she didn't talk to either of us and she doesn't know why the estimates were so wrong.

I have him scheduled for a couple of groomings there one in August and one in September. I was very disappointed to find out that the groomer is leaving (after something like 20 years) and that they are not planning to replace her. I just moved to the area and I am used to being able to have my dogs groomed (at a minimum have them bathed and brushed) before I pick them after being kenneled. So I find this a bit irregular. Why not hire another groomer???

The first communication was positive when Michelle called to change my apt time. She texted me to let me know she'd be late and was 23 minutes late. I had discussed on the phone when I made she had called to change my apt time that our dog had matting in a few spots and we were overdue by 2 months on grooming bc our groomer had moved and we were in the process of finding a new one. When she got to our house she felt him and looked at him and agreed there was matting and she may need to cut some of them out, which I agreed would be fine. 15 min later she called me to say she would need to shave his hind end, and chest but would leave the back and rest. She did not mention that this would add time or costs. The apt time ran over by 45 minutes. When my dog came out he was fully shaved head to toe. Michelle said he had the worst matting she had ever seen, which I disagree with. We've had him brushed out many times with matting and the other groomer normally cuts out what she needs to. Michelle then tried to Up charge me $100 for her extra hour of time. (Which was only 45 minutes). I didn't know she was doing a full body shave. She didn't tell me she would be charging more before hand, and when I tried to ask why, knowing that the service I requested and booked cost $115 on her website, she told me that her costs online didn't apply to my dog. Those prices were for different breeds like labs. Since the website didn't state that information, and she didn't explain that before hand, how was I to know?? She said "usually it would be $200 but it'll be $300 for my extra hour." ($100 for her extra time). I've never been charged so much for our dog before. I tried to ask her why the prices online didn't apply and why she wouldn't have mentioned that before hand when I booked the apt and she immediately cut me off and said, "I'm not doing this, if you don't give me my money now, I'll call the cops." It was very aggressive and unprofessional. She wouldn't discuss the pricing at all. I was in total shock and disappointed in how she handled having a conversation. We won't ever use her again and I would not recommend her to anyone. I feel like Michele was scamming us and knew if she told us that the matting was bad it made her look like she deserved the upsurd amount she wanted to charge us.

The only reason I gave her a 4/5 stars is because I had specifically asked for my Mini Australian Shepherd to not be shaved down and I picked her up shaved. I used to work alongside dog groomers, so I know first hand why Australian Shepherds (double-coated dogs) should not be clipped super short. For me, it's not a risk I want to take with my dogs. Camper looks super cute, but I'm hoping that her hair grows back how it should. Thankfully, so far there's no serious signs of coat damage. I will likely give her another chance before going elsewhere.
