Cute little coffee shop in downtown Honolulu's restaurant row. Here with Mark y. Killing time. Decided to get a coffee. I am not a fan of ridiculous dessert-like coffee concoctions...that's not coffee! We ordered iced cold brews. The girl at the counter sweetly informed us that if we wanted anything but black we needed to let them know because they seal the coffees. Had no clue what that meant ...but ok. I had milk in mine. The coffees were indeed sealed with a pop top. Cute presentation. And the coffee was darn good!
The Porch - 5 Stars Now this was unexpected. I came to Restaurant Row to eat at Tempura Man after seeing a post about it, but I couldn't find it. I guess they may have gone out of business. While looking around, I stumbled upon The Porch. It looked good and seemed popular, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Turkey Pesto Sandwich, and boy was I surprised. This wasn't the thin, pre-sliced turkey you get at the grocery store. It was made with thick slices of turkey breast, fresh tomatoes, and spinach, all served on a buttery croissant bun. On the side was a fresh spinach salad topped with tomatoes. This place is a cute hole-in-the-wall gem. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the sandwich was packed with flavor. They have a cozy couch you can relax on while eating, along with a few small tables. It's not a big place and probably isn't ideal for large groups, but it's perfect for a casual lunch or quick bite. Serve was good. If you're looking for a fresh and tasty sandwich, this is definitely a must-try spot. Happy eating!
A popular little spot at Restaurant Row. I met here for a business luncheon. This is an area surrounded by HPU students but it was actually quite a nice spot to sit outside at one of the tables and enjoy a chat and food from The Porch Honolulu. They have an array of juices, teas and coffee choices that they mix into these plastic bottles that they assemble soda caps onto. It's quite cute. The drinks can come out in really pretty layers, very colorful. Sandwiches, breakfast or lunch options, all sounded pretty good. From about $6 to $14 or so. Everyone working there seemed excited to answer questions and point out the variety, since what they have to offer is fun, some including ube, etc.
This was a great spot to get a cool refreshing drink on a warm day. The staff are very friendly and the area is well kept. There is plenty of outdoor seating in the shaded open breezes. I had the açaí smoothie. Very flavorful, this really hit the spot. This is also an interesting location for people watching and just meeting others.
The Island Bowl.. been that girl, still that girl Staff are so sweet here and even though it's busy around lunch time they are pretty fast with service. p.s. let them know if you are a student for the student discount.
I love coming here whenever I am at the Waterfront Plaza. Parking is located in the structure and they validate your parking with a $10+ purchase. Staff is extremely friendly. I was told that the owner, Sharon, is also the sweetest. They give a 10% discount for any HPU student with proof of identification. I come here for their savory drinks, especially their seasonal specials. If I need energy, I order a kicker. There's ample seating outside of Porch and at the Waterfront in general. I haven't tried their food but I recommend their drinks and would definitely come in again.
Do not order their smoothies. I ordered a coco mango boom smoothie and it was one of the worse smoothies I've ever had. Some of the tapioca was hard and crunchy. The majority of it was in chunks. Ordering a smoothie at a coffee shop was probably not the smartest thing to do but if you are going to sell it at least make it drinkable/edible. Such a disappointment.
Love this Breakfast spot! I like their simple menu with some solid classic breakfast items. We ordered turkey pesto and sunrise eggcado. When I opened the boxes I said to myself "wow the ingredients look really fresh!". There were no overpowering seasonings or gravy so you can really taste the food. The portion was smaller than I thought but I was really happy with the quality of the food. And the price was quite reasonable. Sevice was quick. There are many benches outside so you can just relax and enjoy your breakfast. And there are many students there studying or discussing about their projects. Just great vibe there!
The good and the bad: Located right in the middle of Waterfront Plaza (formerly Restaurant Row), The Porch is a charming little walk-up coffee bar with an impressive selection of sandwiches, toasts, baked goods, and açaí bowls. Despite its small interior, there's an abundance of outdoor seating. The place is often hopping with college students, but there's always a place to sit. The people working the counter are so friendly and sincere, you can't help but be in a good mood when you're there! I ordered the steak sandwich for $14 and it was pretty good. Not anything like I expected, it was thin slices of smoked meat with onions, tomatoes, mixed greens, and pesto on a fresh baked ciabatta roll. It was accompanied by a beautiful salad topped with heirloom tomatoes and a side of ranch dressing that was positively awful and ruined the whole thing. The meat was very very smokey, so if BBQ isn't your thing then order something else. They have excellent coffee drinks, with exotic offerings like honey lavender latte and mango matcha, and the Vietnamese iced coffee will literally set your heart racing. Overall I highly recommend The Porch, in spite of the abysmal ranch dressing.
Drinks were great I loved my vietnamese coffee with cold foam on top. I ordered online 10 min prior and my drinks were ready as soon as I got there! Definitely coming back, I loved the uniqueness of the cups and being able to open it when you'd like. Store is super cute for sure, outdoor seating too!
The Porch has been on my bookmarks list for a while and I finally was able to try it as we were in the area. It is a cute cafe in Ward Village nearby the office buildings. We went during a weekday afternoon and so there were lots of students and medical professionals as Straub is nearby and HPU as well as a surgical center (appears to be private practice?). Parking: structured parking, paid. They do validate but they have a minimum purchase of $10 Service: fast, efficient, friendly. Ambience: Tables and chairs are available outside (not inside) and therefore is not covered so if it's raining, you can get wet. The establishment itself is small and clean. Food: I cannot comment on the food as I did not opt to purchase food at this time, but the drink I had was the farmers market smoothie (~$9), which had kale, banana, apple juice, etc. It was fresh and just what I wanted. Tip: Public restrooms are located inside the parking structure close by. You may need to press the button/buzzer to obtain entrance inside as the door can get locked.
The Hojicha latte was so GOOD!! I would come again to get this and to try the other drinks. It's cute how they put their drink in a soda can type of top so you can take it to go and then open it when you're ready. I was like this would be great for parties and gatherings. And if you have extras then it'll stay good for a bit. Atmosphere - Cute, it's in the Row Kaka'ako and there's seating everywhere outside so you can just sit there. The place itself does not have seating inside as you walk in and it's their items and service counter and such. It's cute and brightly colored. Service - Great, they were friendly and I didn't see the hojicha latte on their current menu but saw it online so inquired and they answered my questions and said they could make it! Cost - $7 - 8 Parking - You can get validation if you spend over $10. If not then it's around $3 for every 30 minutes or something like that. Location - Row Kaka'ako near the waterfront. Never been here before and other cool restaurants like Aloha Mamacita. I would definitely try their other drinks because they have matcha ones and I wanted to try the ube matcha, mango matcha and strawberry matcha!
Came here a little over a week ago. Parked in waterfront plaza structure. Parking should be free with validation (but I'm not sure up to how many hours). There was a bit of a line, so we ordered online. It took about 15 minutes to get our food and drinks. There's tables outside but can get claimed by HPU students. The turkey pesto was good! Getting something on a toasted croissant is always the move. My friend had the egg salad bagel and she enjoyed it. As far as drinks, I wasn't too impressed. There wasn't too strong of a coffee taste in either as they were both very sweet. The plastic container they come in is cute, but ultimately of no further use, unless maybe you can recycle? I'd say everything is pretty reasonably priced. Would come back if I had a choice, but wouldn't go out of my way.

This is such a cute spot in Restaurant Row and they're doing all the things to advertise online via social media. The staff are super friendly and patient, answering all the questions that we had about what's iced and what's good for our palates/preferences. We only came here for the drinks this time around, but we'll definitely be back to try the food. The drinks were prepared with just the right amount of ice to flavor ratio. My only quandary is that they're closed on the weekends (Saturday-Sunday). And during the weekdays they are open with limited hours (8a-3p). As a person who works a M-F job, it's difficult for me to come here, but if/when I do, it's a great time. read more
Stopped by here after doing some labs at DLS and was first time for us both. We only had coffee but it was darn tasty. We both got iced cold brews and thought it was pretty neat that the drinks came in a soda can-like container equipped with a pop-top and all. Very cool. All the staff behind the counter were very friendly and I did notice some of them were delivering the drinks and food to the customers that were seated at tables. This place is located in restaurant row. They validate parking. The ambiance is quick serve. The service is good and they are fast with your food. I came here for breakfast with my kid so we both got different things. The steak sandwich is mediocre then what i expected. I hardly got steak and a ton of avacado. The salad was okay. The bread was super thick. The steak hardly had seasoning, i was disappointed. 2.7/5. The sliders were amazing. The bread was hot and soft and they packed it with eggs. The bacon could be done a bit more but nonetheless it was good. 3.9/5. The strawberry lemonade was super good. Not too sweet and not too sour, that deserves a 5/5. Mango matcha was a disappointment. The matcha was bland and the mangos hardly helped the flavor. I wish i got something else instead. 2/5. read more
First, a big mahalo to all the Oahu foodies and influencers who shared this hidden gem without you, I wouldn't have discovered it! As an iced matcha lover, I was instantly drawn to this cafe's beautiful aesthetic, thoughtful packaging and overall vibe. Absolutely 10/10 on presentation and concept. I tried the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk and while it was visually gorgeous, the matcha was a little lighter than I usually prefer the milk and strawberry purée took center stage, so it had more of a creamy, milky flavor. Perfect for anyone who enjoys a softer, less earthy matcha. Next time, I'll happily order it again but with an extra scoop of matcha powder for that deeper flavor kick. The ambience is bright and airy, with a few outdoor tables to enjoy the breeze. It's the kind of spot that instantly lifts your mood I would say. The staff were all smiles, super friendly and happy to guide me through their menu (which has so many tempting options, it's hard to choose!). 08/26/25 First time eating food from this place. I did not eat at this restaurant. After a morning group walk nearby, a friend of ours picked up some breakfast for us. I had the breakfast burrito +avocado. I thought this burrito tasted good with the typical ingredients of hash brown, bacon, eggs, cheese, & added avocado. It is not a very big burrito, about 6" long but somehow it was just enough to feel satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. It came with a small container that had both salsa sauce & sour cream in it. I couldn't make out what kind of cheese was in it but it wasn't shredded but a slice. It may have been American cheese or cheddar. Tried to view the menu on their website/online menu but it did not specifically say. On Thursday, wen I jus pau workout...LOL... and finished drinking my morning juice, I really needed something to eat. I searched for acai and The Porch came up. What a great a name! My parents used to have a porch at their house, and what a great space they have here. Small tables in front. But the center has these really long community tables that people can sit at. Really interesting menu! I decided on the O.G. acai bowl, and a Blue Sky smoothie since it was a nice morning! They had some colorful scones and I got one of those too. Everything was delicious and what I needed to soothe those hunger pains! The funny thing was that, the woman at the front of the line, when she turned around, it was my friend Janey. We were meeting up on Saturday, and it was funny running into her, here, of all places. She works close by and loves coming here. Pretty cool place! This place is super cute! The avocado toast was good, but a little too much lemon juice for me. It drowned out the tomatoes, feta and avocado. Breakfast sandwich I was told was super good (daughter's review) she also stated you have made her a matcha lover with your banana milk matcha. I was so excited to see your special of the Dubai affogato, but it fell flat, . The espresso was bitter and the ice cream was freezer burnt. I just couldn't eat/drink it. But I loved the idea. Maybe I just had bad luck this day. But over all still like my experience and the service was super sweet. read more

Finally came here after wanting to try it for a while now. Service was quick, we ordered and within a few minutes our drinks were out, food shortly after. I ordered a BLTA with a strawberry matcha (coconut milk) and my daughter ordered a smoked salmon bagel with a Ube matcha (oat milk). Food was tasty but nothing really fancy. I think my drink was better than my daughters you could taste the matcha and strawberry. The Ube matcha was very pretty but it was just ok. Milk alternatives is $1 extra just fyi. My favorite go to spot for coffee, acai bowls and lunch. I probably eat here at least once a month. Super convenient if you're in Waterfront. Everything is so good and the prices are so reasonable. The acai bowls are great, sandwiches are yummy, and the service is super fast if you need to grab something quick. There are also lots of tables to sit and work on a laptop or enjoy your food. read more
I came here while waiting for my food from next-door. It's a cute little drink shop. I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee. It comes in a cute plastic container. It was a little sweet for my tasting so I only had half of it. I would've liked it to be a little more robust and flavor, personally but this place seems like a hit for the college kids do their work outside the shop. read more

One of my defaults for matcha if I'm in the kakaako/restaurant row area! The matcha is great and slightly sweetened with vanilla which is how I prefer it! They also have various food items. I tried the salmon bagel which was yummy! The line moves fairly quick and they have some merchandise to look at while in line. I was hoping to buy the matcha powder but unfortunately they were sold out at the time. Parking is at restaurant row and there is a 20min grace period. If you think you'll exceed that then I believe it was a $10 minimum for validation. read more

The iced coffee drinks looked cute but tasted underwhelming. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and mint mojito latte, each with oat milk. Both options were not smooth to drink and felt harsh on my stomach. The condensed milk in the Vietnamese iced coffee wasn't mixed completely and a lot settled at the bottom of the cup. I drank small clumps of it with the coffee which wasn't a pleasant texture. The coffee flavor was surprisingly mellow compared to the mint mojito. I was hoping for 'Philz Coffee' mint mojito taste, but it was nothing close to that. There was hardly any mint flavor and the coffee was bitter. I've tried their avocado toast in the past and it was just okay. They offer validated parking at Waterfront Plaza/Restaurant Row for purchases over $10. read more
An adorable stop for studying or a little drink! The Porch offers lots of different small bites and drinks. There are plenty of benches in the shade and small umbrella tables in the plaza the cafe is located in. I ordered a strawberry matcha and an iced latte with oat milk. After they mix the iced drinks, they can them in these little plastic cups that you can save for later. Super cute, but not really reusable. read more

First off, the cutest way to serve coffee..... in CANS!!! I just wish it was reusable because all my coffee drinks would be in here haha okay so they are in restaurant row right next to aloha mamacita. They have their own corner which you will not miss because the whole shop is opened up. I got their special of the day which was the almond caramel latte. It was super good. Very flavorful and satisfying. I also got their turkey pesto sandwich which I loved because they serve it on a croissant bread (my fave) and salad. The staff is super friendly and very helpful when I had questions. The place is so comfortable to just hang out in or you can sit outside because they put tables and chairs too. It was pretty busy when I got there because I caught the lunch rush BUT my order still came out pretty fast. They have so many options on their menu that I want to try, I can't wait to go back! read more

I'm very thankful that I live very close to this location so I can pop by whenever I have the urge to have something other than what coffee options are at salt. The porch offers a wide variety of beverages and food options that are made with love and are pretty delicious. I usually get the same thing however I will say that their Matcha is better tasting than others in the area. Also note--The porch is known for is there cute cups that look like soda cans however, if you come during the week of August 21, they are currently out of cups for the next two weeks or so. Just giving you that fair warning. I actually preferred not having the can because I feel like the can is a little bit wasteful. It would be really great if they had the option to opt for the can or for just a regular cup to be totally honest with you. I would opt for the cup. Anyway the drinks are delicious and again, not too sweet, which is my preferred. They even have a very cute little shop with little local made products. Another nice thing about this area is that there is plenty of seating. If you need to do work or if you need to catch up with friends, there's a lot of seating to do that. It's very nice and convenient for students at HPU since it's basically in their campus. The only reason I would give it four stars as opposed to five is that groups of people will just stand by the ordering table and not move and nobody really does anything about it. There is a lot of areas to stand however there is no clear signage of where to wait so there's no one really at fault to this but it kind of makes it annoying because you think that it's busier than it actually is. The staff are really friendly and sweet, at least the ones that I have encountered. They are quick to help with the menu or even say what they like if you're being indecisive. read more
I placed an order through Yelp, thinking it would save me some wait time, I do not recommend it. Service was actually faster if you just stand in line. I sat there waiting, not realizing my order was already done because no one told me, and the Yelp app never updated to say it was ready. The pickup time said 12:19-12:39, but I had arrived early just in case. Eventually, I went up to the counter and asked, only to find my bagel had been sitting there so long the cream cheese had already melted and I still had to wait for them to make the drink. $17 for an everything bagel with cream cheese and a Vietnamese iced coffee feels steep. The space is definitely cute--great design, fun cans, and Instagram-worthy food--but overall, the experience didn't match the price. read more
Visiting HI for the first time and decided to come here for refreshing fruit bowl. Did not disappoint. Place was poppin in the morning as you can see in my photos but they were still able to help people fast. We got the Hapa and Dragonfruit bowl. Fruit and the bases were fresh and not too sweet. Def recommend trying this place out! Tons of outdoor space/seating to take advantage of the beautiful weather. read more

I was just killing time waiting for my family, I wanted coffee and I saw this place, it's cute they have a nice place to sit, they have a variety of pastries, delicious coffee. I think they are better than Starbucks. The service was awesome, very friendly and she delivered my coffee where I was sitting thanks for giving good service it means a lot these days.. read more

I saw a reel on IG about The Porch from a fellow foodie a while back and the image of a delicious Strawberry Matcha drink in the cutest packaging that stuck with me. A couple of months ago, I flew in early in the morning and had some time before an appointment nearby. My husband and I decided to stop by here for a light breakfast. It's a small, but cozy little corner spot on Restaurant Row at the Waterfront Plaza. They have a drink menu of coffees, teas, and lemonades. They also have toasties, sandwiches, and smoothie and acai bowls. Of course I went for the Strawberry Matcha. We also got an egg salad toastie to share. Service was very quick and friendly. They handed us our drinks in no time and let me tell you, I absolutely love the container it comes in. It's what made them so memorable! I'm all about marketing and product packaging is often looked over, but not here. The drinks come in cute clear plastic 'cans' that are sealed and opened just like a soda. It reminded me of a boba shop on the east coast and I loved it there too. And the drink itself? Aaaahmazing. I was so stoked to finally have a taste. I'm not usually a matcha kind of girl, but I love strawberry matcha together for whatever reason and it did not disappoint. The egg salad toastie was also very delicious! It was perfectly toasted and was surprisingly very light and fresh. We really enjoyed it! This is a great, laid-back to get some tasty drinks and eats.
