Avocado Toast and Iced Matcha Latte
    Jocelyn O.

It's fun eating greens when it comes in the form of avocado toast and an iced matcha latte. Service is always friendly and the cafe is a great spot to get work done.

Coffee first, everything else second.Popped into Morning Brew on a quiet Friday morning for a little work and a cup that didn't disappoint. The space has range, big open floor with tables to spread out, plus a second deck if you want a change of scenery. Staff was warm and quick, my black coffee was dialed in, and the menu (avocado toast, acai bowls, open-faced breakfast options) is already on my list for next time. Walking distance from my son's place, which means this won't be a one time visit.

It's been years.......and we are still coming back! Is it a good thing to say the food tastes the same? I think so!! Especially when I loved it the first time and every time since. The people working are ALWAYS polite and helpful. Now....this is unique for me, I find that new businesses and old businesses with smaller customer pools (regulars) tend to be the most friendly, except here. They are always so nice, even when they are slammed with people and there is a line out the door! The ambiance is exactly the same (weird bird noises over the speaker the other day was a bit different...but I didn't hate it, although it did have me looking around to see if there was a bird cage...there was not). I'm so glad this place is here....years later! We will be back soon!

The spouse was at an appointment nearby which gave yours truly some time to explore the area. And, my appetite is always ready to go! ATMOSPHERE: Located within the Salt At Our Kaka'ako outdoor mall, the corner spot is bright, airy and echoey. Outdoor seating is available. I chose a spot on the second floor loft. PARKING: Street or garages nearby. MENU: Intimate breakfast menu with something for everyone. BEVERAGE: Iced Coffee Black coffee over ice. There's a station to add your own condiments. FOOD: Havarti Scramble Nice and light bowl of scrambled eggs that were perfectly salted, havarti cheese and fresh spinach mixed in, and topped with sliced green onions. A slice of sourdough toast accompanied. SERVICE: Counter service was immediate and friendly. Place your order, find a spot and the food is brought to you. When you're done, leave your dirty dishes at one of the stations throughout. OVERALL: Nice place to grab coffee and breakfast.

My go to spot for a good coffee and a nice light breakfast. There are many many coffee shops in this area, but I love Morning Brew. The food here is always consistent and the service is so warm and friendly. Decent seating area, both downstairs and up and several tables outside for that nice alfresco dining. I really like the smoked salmon bagel. I ordered it with a plain bagel and I have them add a Easy over egg. The Schmeer that they put on it with capers and dill is a great touch to the smoked salmon. This is my go to order whenever I come here. They have lots of vegetarian options also. The coffee is always balanced and full bodied without the acidity. Validated parking as well as on street parking make this place of no-brainer.

Morning Brew is a located at Salt Kakaako. Parking is free for the first hour, then you'll need to pay. There's also metered street parking. You can count on waiting in line outside the cafe until the line inside allows more room to enter. Luckily the line moves pretty quickly. The high ceiling, hanging light fixtures, and splashes of greenery are nice touches. The menu offers a wide variety of gourmet food and specialty coffee options. The music is hip, the service is good, the workers are young. They're aiming for the trendy, elevated cafe experience. For the most part, I like it, but the food could be better. The toppings made all the difference when judging the open-faced items. The smoked salmon bagel was a disappointment. The flavor was bland compared to others I've had. I love cucumbers, but there's a time and a place... aside from aesthetics, it did nothing for this dish. At a $17 price point, toppings like sprouts or tomatoes should be automatic, or at least a complimentary option. Let's just say, major fail here. The avocado and egg toast was really good. Here you have avocado, egg, arugula, tomato, radish, goat cheese, and balsamic glaze. Lots of elements, lots of flavor bursts (especially with an over easy egg)... and $5 less than the salmon. I would order it again. The vanilla macnut latte was smooth and flavorful. I would definitely order it again. I like that there's an upstairs seating area, but it's very small so it does feel a little cramped. I'll be back because the vibe is right and there are a lot of other menu items to try... but as for first impressions, I'm 50/50. I might even just stick to the coffee from now on.

The food was good, a little more on the expensive side but very fresh ingredients used to portray it. it's a pretty popular cafe, lots of people that circle in and out.

Morning Brew is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee, kill time, or get some work done. I recently grabbed breakfast and coffee here while waiting for my car which was in the shop nearby. It's located in SALT Kaka'ako and the neighborhood is very walkable, so it was easy to get to. The space is very open, bright, and has lots of seating spread out across 2 floors, as well as outside. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had a sleepy morning, so the the staff kindly explained things for me more than once when I misunderstood, and I really appreciated their positive attitude and patience. I ordered a breakfast burrito and an iced honey cinnamon latte. The breakfast burrito was packed full of veggies, fluffy egg, smoky spiced potatoes and black beans, cilantro-filled guacamole (which I love), and a tangy sour cream salsa on the side. The burrito is vegetarian and at $12, is perfectly good without add-ons, but you can add meat for an extra $3. The latte was on the sweeter side, a bit heavy on the honey, but was nice and creamy. If you are going to work or spend more than a couple hours here, I recommend sitting downstairs where there are more available outlets compared to upstairs. Bathrooms are available in SALT with a code.

    The Local Bowl
    Kainani K.

I came here for breakfast and ordered the local bowl, which consisted of brown rice, ham, onion, spinach and jack cheese. The portion was a good size, and packed with flavor! The brown was rice perfectly cooked and had a slight shoyu flavor; noting overpowering or too salty. They make the eggs how you like it, so I chose scrambled eggs and it was cooked how I like it; not wet but not dry and tough. If you like fried rice, you'll love this bowl! That's exactly what it reminds me of.. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes and drinks.

Morning Brew has a large assortment of coffee, teas, and other snacks along with the perfect chatting and co-working atmosphere! I just got their cold brew this time, which was really earthy, slightly chocolatey and not too acidic. Next time I hope I can try their bagels or chia pudding! Vibe: The shop has two floors -- the first floor is where you order your food/drinks that also has seating and a merch and coffee section, while the second floor is more seating. There are also a handful of tables outside, making it a perfect spot to hang out with your pets. The staff were super friendly and smiled over small talk as I ordered, which made the entire experience memorable! Parking: Salt Kakaʻako has a paid parking lot. There is also metered street parking around the area.

    Cora L.

Located in SALT Kakaako, Morning Brew is a two story cafe/coffee shop. There is parking in SALT and they validated. With competition from places such as Alo Cafe and Arvo, Morning Brew can stand its own with a solid menu of drinks, food, and baked goods. Walking in through the door will take you straight to the counter to order. There is merch near the door, along with a variety of baked goods on display. The menu has a range of coffees, teas, and more. The food menu sweet and savory options such as sandwiches, pancakes, bagels, and more. Great menu if you are feeling like a meal or just a light snack. The people working were swift and kind. There is some seating on the first floor, and more tables and seating on the 2nd floor. It feels very open and spacious inside. It also feels equal parts modern and comfortable. We both got coffee. I got the Thai Latte, which was rich and flavorful. It was on the sweeter side, which was nice! Next time, I hope to try one of their baked goods.

I went on a Monday at around 12 pm and it wasn't too busy, I was able to get a table to do some work on my laptop! I also grabbed a breakfast burrito, and I tried a large iced Cinnamon Honey latte with oat milk. The coffee was good as usual. I liked the breakfast burrito, but I think it was a bit bland and missing some salt, but luckily they have salt and pepper packets. I also noticed that the black beans and onions weren't cooked the best. I noticed the onions seemed almost raw. I think it would taste best if it was cooked a bit more down. But still a decent burrito. Overall I had a pretty good experience.

Ordered the Vanilla Macnut Latte, it was good, not too strong, not too sweet. 8/10 (-: a little warm but next time I'll ask for more ice Also, ordered the breakfast quesadilla, it was good!! + the sauce is amazingly good! It had chicken, bacon, bell peppers and cheese. A little pricey but it was good! Ambience: is an aesthetically pleasing. Parking: street parking around using meters. Weekdays: 1 hr meter parking. I think they validate parking tickets at the SALT but I forgot to read their sign thoroughly.. Service: employees are nice and patient, especially when I didn't know what to order

Sadly, it seemed more folks were there for the pastries though. First off, I'm surprised I found such a fabulous cup of coffee in what feels like the epicenter of tourist life on this island. While visiting another island nearly establishment had signage stating they served Kona and/or Hawaiian coffee, but nearly every establishment's coffee was absolutely awful. Seeing the location I fully expected them to phone in the coffee, but it's clear that coffee comes first here, even if many of the guests are trying to get pastries! You'll be shocked by the line, but just know the staff is efficient and it moves fast. They offer a variety of their own locally roasted beans here, with options for batch brew, espresso drinks and even pour overs (impressive considering the volume of customers). The coffees are well described and the baristas have the additional knowledge you may be seeking when you order, and all in all this went as quickly as I could have expected. Truly, the coffee was delightful, and the fact I was drinking a hot drink on an extremely hot day didn't even phase me. I wanted so badly to bring home a bag of each one, but given that everything is more expensive in Hawaii, these were all 4x the price of the specialty coffee I buy on the mainland and I just couldn't make it happen. What will happen is me telling everyone to visit this shop when they're in Hawaii because it is 100% worth it. Won't you consider opening one in Reno NV?
