This restaurant has an interesting decor, particularly if you are a car enthusiast. The windows…read moreare garage doors, there is an antique car (real or replica?) suspended from the ceiling and the bars have a blue glow. Even the napkin rings are car parts like a hose pipe connector. The theme is clever and well done. There are large TVs with various sports channels mounted around the perimeter. Even with the TVs muted, the restaurant was quite loud with the hard surfaces echoing the sound. The service was friendly, quick and attentive. Our waitress checked back several times to see if we needed anything. My husband ordered a basic cheeseburger with kettle chips. They cleverly brand their logo into the top bun which was a nice touch, keeping with the theme. He thought his burger was excellent. A table near us had ordered the ribs which looked very tempting. On to my meal. When I go to a restaurant, I really appreciate--and usually expect-- freshly made food with fresh ingredients. I cook fresh ingredients at home and don't like being served pre-made frozen food when I eat out. My meal was a bit disappointing. I was in the mood for soup and salad. I ordered the garden salad with strawberry vinaigrette which was excellent. I appreciated the extended list of unusual dressings and was not disappointed with this simple, fresh selection. I also ordered the onion soup which came with a nice helping of melted mozzarella cheese. I prefer a Swiss / gruyere combo on my onion soup but the menu clearly stated it was served with mozzarella so I accepted this second best preparation. The cheese topping was good but I was very disappointed with the broth. The broth tasted like it was a commercial canned or bullion base. The flavor got stronger as I reached the bottom of the bowl so I suspect a bullion that settled over the course of the meal and created a strong, somewhat over-powering flavor. I also ordered a side of onion rings. I enjoy fresh, thick cut onion rings that are hand battered and deep fried. The type where you take a bite and hot, fresh onion slides into your mouth with some of the crunchy coating. That is not the type of onion rings served at Ford's Garage. These were the frozen, dump them in a fryer like McDonald's fries, type onion rings. You can probably get them at Costco. We will visit this restaurant again and I'll see if I agree with my husband's "great burger" assessment. I'll let you know.

It was busy and can definitely get busy so the wait time was about 20 min but they text you when they are ready for you! Once seated we got immediately served with drinks and had plenty of time to look at the menu and got recommendations as well! I ordered the all American burger, and my boyfriend bought the estate burger. We also paired it with some onion rings and some drinks! Everything came out in maybe about less than 20 minutes and was cooked perfectly and so delicious! The burger was cooked exactly as I wanted and so juicy! The onion rings were also so good especially with the sauce! Our server was amazing and always checked in on us to make sure we were cared for. Everything was amazing and I would love to come back!

I generally like ordering food that is named after the restaurant, thinking it's an item they are particularly proud of. It wasn't hard for me to decide to select their The S.O.B., a smoked bacon and blue cheese sandwich. In under 10 minutes our food arrived, and it was super good. With a brioche bun and all the toppings this was a tall burger. While I tried their natural cut fries from another plate, very good, I had ordered their coleslaw. That was an outstanding side with red cabbage, a bit tropical, a bit sweet. Service was wonderful, she was friendly and willing to chat while it wasn't busy, and did an excellent job with drink refills and handling the check stuff. They do have a service charge for using a credit card but that was easily removed when I paid with cash. The décor was rich, in that the walls were covered with $1 bills. Gives the place character.

Once our large group was seated, there were fans around us, so the bugs went away. I am from California, so I am not used to good service lol, so I was pleasantly surprised with all the "Yes ma'am," "Thank you, ma'am," etc. The server was nice and a total trooper with the number of people he had to keep track of because we all had separate checks. He did an amazing job, and we were extremely grateful. I tried their Housemade Crab Dip, and it was delicious. It was a great portion, really creamy, and well seasoned. For my meal, I had the Admiral's Platter. Everything was delicious, not too oily, and I loved the dipping sauces that came with it. Overall, it was a great experience with great service. If I'm ever back in Sarasota, I would love to come back.

We sat on the water and enjoyed a beautiful view. The decor and atmosphere is beachy and relaxing. The cocktails were good. The parking is convenient. The bad part that made it disappointing. The food was not great. My grouper sandwich was fair. It was kinda bland. The slaw was dry. The fish and chips was odd. The fries were decent. The fish was inside a very thick coating of batter. The crab legs were good. The coconut shrimp were good but too heavily battered. The green beans on the side were totally unseasoned. The worst was the chicken sandwich. It was tasteless with a a thick greasy batter. It was bad. Once we decided to send it back our server took forever to return to table to check on us. We were mid meal before we checked on. My daughter decided to pickup something else at a different restaurant after we left. How do you mess up a chicken sandwich? Unless you are just coming in for drinks(or crab legs) I would recommend a different choice of restaurant. The view adds one star to the rating.

Thanks to the recommendation of a total stranger, my husband and I finally checked it out earlier this week. Naturally, I had already done my due diligence by reading approximately 22 million Yelp reviews and looking at pics before walking in. I'd narrowed down my choices, but after chatting with our server, I went with the lobster burger. First of all- who decided to put the words lobster and burger together? It sounded confusing. And possibly unappetizing. Turns out, I owe whoever invented it an apology. The sweet server swiftly delivered a buttery brioche bun stuffed with big chunks of lobster, crisp lettuce, and a juicy tomato. I also requested a side of melted butter because...obviously. I feel like if there's lobster involved, melted butter is non-negotiable. Crispy fries rounded out the meal, and it was so ridiculously good that I pretty much unintentionally halted all dinner conversation to enjoy the party in my mouth. My husband ordered the ahi tacos with a side of duck fat fries. He inhaled every last bite of the tacos. They were piled high with fresh ahi and all the fixings, and the duck fat fries were rich and savory perfection- crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, exactly as fries should be. The restaurant itself is pretty small, with just a handful of tables inside plus some outdoor seating. I can definitely see this place being packed during peak hours and high season, so plan accordingly. We'll absolutely be back sooner than later.

If I want to nitpick the establishment is located inside a strip mall and wedged in the corner between Birkenstock and a cafe. It is very small with inside seating for approximately 20 people and has some outdoor space as well. All in all a great place and worth going to.
