Welcome back, Local Roots! New owners, new location (about a mile from previous) right next to…read moreCiener Botanical and close by the Kernersville Farmer's Market. And a new trailer setup with outdoor chairs and tables. Some umbrellas would be nice but my friend & I just moved chairs to the shade of a tree, no problem. I do want to taste my way through their summer menu (particularly the blueberry French toast, which is a coffee drink with blueberry cold foam), but I actually asked for something off-menu, a lavender frappe with vanilla base -- if you've seen my cheers about Bitty & Beau's (miss having them right downtown WS), that's the one they named for me. They made it in no time flat (seriously, never had a beverage whipped up so quickly) and it tasted just like home.

Though I've never gotten food, there is a refrigerated area with sandwiches. The seating inside is very homey, with couches and separate rooms with tables and chairs. There are also options for purchasing local handmade items such as candles. My coffee here is always good and my daughter loved the strawberry frappe yesterday (caffeine free of course) and enjoyed the front porch sitting area. We were lucky enough to see the train pass by while we had our drinks! The staff are very friendly and chat personably with their customers while they prepare drinks! Parking is behind the building, so don't miss it!!

Continuing my quest to try more açaí bowls brought me to OrganicAF. I ordered the Funky Monkey bowl…read moreat the counter to go. While I waited for the employee to make my bowl, I took a seat. The inside is very interesting space wise. There's just one long bench facing the counter and a couple of high top seats facing the window. After 5 minutes, my bowl was done and I took it with me to eat during my lunch break at work. I don't know if it was just the day I went but the to go container looked different than others I have seen from reviews. Mine looked like it was in a soup container you would get at a Chinese restaurant - the kind with a flat lid. Because of that, a lot of the peanut butter and chia seeds stuck to the lid because the lid wasn't curved. Secondly, I ordered the Funky Monkey bowl and it was missing a few ingredients. The bowl is advertised as organic açaí base with granola, banana, strawberries, peanut butter, Nutella, and chia seeds. My bowl was missing the strawberries and Nutella part. Despite all of that, the peanut butter was good and tasted natural. If I ever go back here, I'd probably just go for their smoothies.

I wish this place had more seating. The inside has a pretty large empty space without tables and…read morethe tables outside were covered in pollen so we had to go sit somewhere else. I loved the sunset bowl. It tasted really fresh and all of the flavors went great together. One thing that was pretty annoying is that they put the honey on top of the toppings so when you open the lid half the fruit sticks to the lid. Might make more sense to put the honey under the topping. It would also be nice if they had a protein bowl since it's literally walking distance from a big gym.
