Spotted this place on my way to the gym next door for a special event. It was cloudy and cool the day that I visited and since I'd had a craving for a while, Ramen is what caught my eye. Upon enentering, you immediately notice the clean esthetics, but then you see the menu and some pens. It's bit confusing initially, but I'm glad they weren't busy when I arrived otherwise my anxiety may have gotten the best of me. I quickly put together that since I wasn't doing g a create your own meal, I could simply just order. I ordered the Ramen with Miso brother and pork with no egg and a peach fruit tea to drink. The peach fruit tea came out first. It was pretty to look at, but had a very floral and almost chemical like taste. It was not very peach forward. The Ramen was delicious. The pork belly was perfectly seared, the noodles were perfect and the broth was rich with the perfect umami flavor. I don't like bamboo, so I didn't eat it and I felt like the corn was texturally out of place. I did wish there was a green veggie such as spinach or bokchoy. They had a very interesting menu. If I'm back in the neighborhood, I will definitely try a Poke bowl.

My custom poke bowl, very happy with the taste and portion!

Really happy this place moved in close to me, as I have always had a love/hate relationship with Poke bowls... at least until now. I love Poke. Truly. But almost every place I have gone in the past left me a little underwhelmed, either as far as amount of food for the price, or a kind of plain flavor that didn't really make me want to come back. Poke One takes all the things I normally don't like about Poke Bowls and turns them on their head. First thing, though it does waste a lot of paper, I like the menu marking system. You go in, they ask you to take a menu, you start marking what you want in your bowl. Contrary to one of the reviews here, it is VERY VERY clear how much you are allowed to add in each category before there is an upcharge, and how much that upcharge is. This also cuts way down on messed up orders, and your anxiety for putting together a bowl while someone is waiting for you to decide. When i received my built to order bowl, I was very happy with the portion, you could even say it was "piled high." Generous amount of fish and toppings, perfect balance of sauces, artful presentation even. Made for great pics. I also got a tea of some kind, it was pretty good, I've had better and worse. I liked how it was served, and it was refreshing. They do NOT have tap water, only bottled. This is my only complaint. There is quite a bit of plastic waste here, and this is just another example, plus of course that means water is not free. With the gym next door... a simple water bottle filling station would probably suffice. I'll definitely come back for more poke!

Welcome to Poke One! I was so excited to try them out. Met a friend for lunch and learned the process of how to order (Newbie to this type of system). The service was quick and friendly. The decor is simple, and appropriate. We built our bowls which was great! The price was a great value. The drink was a bit sweet which helped to counter the spicy sauces I got. Haha Looking forward to coming back and trying more. Come give them a try

(4.5 stars) Poke-and-ramen seems to be the High Point area's latest restaurant trend, and while Poke One loses some of the novelty by not getting there first, it otherwise seems poised to hold its own. Housed in the former Rockaway Eatery location, it's clean, colorful, and spacious. The menu boasts a few Japanese apps (edamame, Takoyaki, shumai, and, oddly enough, fries) as well as milk and fruit teas, but poke (in bowl or burrito form) and ramen are the core offerings. There are about a half-dozen varieties of each, and you can also build your own of the former. Poke One wisely supplies paper menus that can be filled out to make BYO ordering efficient and convenient. For our first visit, my wife and I each got a build your own poke bowl and a milk tea (taro and strawberry, respectively). Our orders were completed very quickly, and the brightly colored bowls looked amazing. Fortunately, the flavors matched the presentation. I went with a mixture of hot (spicy salmon, spicy mayo), sour (pickled ginger, pickled radish), and sweet (mango). Add to that some cucumber for refreshment, and the bowl was nicely balanced. The ingredients were also fresh, and they don't skimp on quantity here. The tea was rather sweet, however. Next time, I'll go with a classic rather than a fruit flavor. What sets Poke One apart from other local options is the competitive pricing. At $11.95 for a poke bowl and $5.70 for a milk tea with bubbles, Poke One is cheaper than either Poke Dream or Ninja Café/Kung Fu Tea. Poke One may not be an innovator, but being able to provide fresh, tasty food quickly makes it a welcome addition nevertheless.

Tbh this place doesn't have a lot of decor or cool stuff inside but it just opened so we can't really complain. The food was really good. The fish was fresh and the other ingredients were fresh as well. It was a really large portion for one person however and the Hawaiian ginger sauce was just way to spicy for me Service was fast.

We were heading to AVL for my bachelorette and throughout the weekend we kept going "GOD THAT RAMEN WAS SO GOOD!" We came on a Wednesday evening. It took a little to get seated and service was on the slower side, but it was worth it. There was a lot of indoor seating and we were seated at a booth. They have mens and womens restrooms at this restaurant. And a lot of free parking out front in their parking lot. We started off with an Alaska roll as an appetizer. This was really delicious! We knew we were off to a great start. I got the black garlic ramen and my best friend got the red spicy oil ramen. We were in heaven. This ramen is beyond delicious. The rich garlicy broth of mine was perfection. Each element was so yummy. I would drive the 3.5 hours back just to get this ramen again. I highly recommend going.

He (an African American male) was treated terribly from the moment he went inside. First, the receptionist acted funny toward him and non-friendly, as if he was stealing someone else's order. That was strike number 1. Then, when he got home, we realized our order was absolutely wrong. We were missing the Spider Rolls and the yellow tail. We spent almost $70 so of course, this was irritating. He called the restaurant on his way to get the missing items and once again, the receptionist was rude. She questioned if he knew what yellow tail and spider rolls looked like. Questioning and insulting his intelligence as a grown man. That was strike number 2. He asked to speak to a manager and he said there wasn't one and he would need to come tomorrow to speak to one....yeah ok. He told her that wouldn't be necessary because he was pulling up to the restaurant in about a minute. When he came in she continued to argue with him about his order and told him, he needed to bring it back...why would he bring back the items that were right in the order, when he was there for the MISSING ITEMS?! Not to mention, that's extremely unsanitary! She would not help him but instead argued so badly with him that the chef had to come out of the kitchen. The receptionist spoke to my husband as if he was a child. She talked to him as if he was a thief and a liar. Strike number 3. The chef then told my husband, he would take care of the missing items for him and to not worry. Now, why couldn't the receptions in treat him with the same respect and dignity that the chef did? I'll tell you why. She racially profiled him because of the demographics of the city where the restaurant is located. She treated him as if he was uncultured, ignorant, and a liar. We will never be back and will be sure to write every single person that matters and leave reviews all over the internet exposing this racist establishment. I will be sure that everyone knows exactly what happens when a black person enters the restaurant.

The waitress was prompt-I was afraid I would feel rushed but she seemed to have a hurried nature and it didn't feel directly related to it being close to closing. I ordered my ramen with no egg and spicy and it came with no spice and an egg. Disappointing to say the least because I've heard great things and expected better since in the short period of time we were there, so many people came in to pickup takeout orders. There was 2 pieces of thinly sliced pork in my ramen and it was mostly mushrooms. The broth was super flavorful I just wish I had more spice. Based off my experience, I wouldn't be interested in returning on my own. I'd visit if a group of friends wanted to go or for takeout to give them another try.

They even have lots of cute stationary items for sale, yummy Japanese snacks and drinks, and they even have some video games to play, too! My iced mocha was great and even the spicy salmon roll was just as delicious as I remembered. There's a mini fridge where you can grab as much sauce and wasabi as you like, plus below the rack it looks like they have some homemade desserts as well. I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. Not really a fair standard, I know, but it's what I prefer. So, for something like pho, with such a rich, meaty broth, and often chock full of meat, I struggle to enjoy it at times, despite my love of spicy, savory foods. This is all to say, I was thrilled to find that Pho Hien Vuong not only has a vegetable option (which most places do), but several combinations of just vegetables or with tofu, in either beef broth or a vegetable broth. I don't see that too often. I went the truly vegetarian route, with tofu and their made-in-house vegetable broth. The broth, despite its distinct lack of meat, was rich, flavorful, and deep. There were an abundance of toppings, and in addition to the included tofu and vegetables, I added jalapeño, bean sprouts, basil, lime, chili crisp, and sriracha. It was a fantastic meal, and while I could not come close to finishing the absolutely massive serving, I enjoyed every bite I did eat. Our server was quick and attentive, despite the restaurant being jam packed with a line out the door (a testament to its popularity, and by extension, its quality and value!).
