One of the nicer spa facility I've visited and if you stay at the Marriott you can use the facility in the early morning (8:30AM to Noon); it's included with the resort fee. There's separate areas for men and women and clothing are optional. The spa in the men's side is rated at four adults. The spa is on the warm side instead of hot and you hit a silver button on the wall to activate the jets that's on a 15 minute timer. The spa was clean but you will get a strong wiff of chlorine to the point where it can be an irritant to your eyes. The steam room a larger and can hold about 8. Again it's on a 15 minute timer and once you press the button it takes about 4 minutes to warm up. The shower facility is nice with good quality soap and there's ample lotion, Q-tips and other amenities for you to use. The towels here are clean and not worn out and there's free ice water (with lemon slices). The waiting area is very relaxing with the soft music, gas fireplace and a TV with calm landscape motion. There's a light beverage station with hot tea and fruits. Cell phone coverage is on the weak side with Verizon and A T & T but acceptable for streaming low quality Netflix. read more

Short: Nice mani-pedi experience with relaxing lounge room and locker room (jacuzzi, steam room, showers), but in the end probably not worth it for the cost of the mani-pedi ($96 + tip). Long: I came here as part of a bachelorette weekend and had a decent enough time. We tried to book our treatments the night before, and thus ended up with 4 massages (2x 2 appointment times) and a mani-pedi. I took the mani-pedi and had a pleasant experience. The employee was very friendly and gave me some good recommendations for the area. She was also very skilled: all my nails looked excellent when I walked out. The only things that I didn't really like were the price ($96!) the nail polish selection: All the nail polish was just in buckets, and I had to sift through them to find a color I wanted. It would have been nice if it was more organized. Also, the manicure sadly only lasted a couple of days before majorly chipping. After the mani-pedi, the employee gave me some stick-on tanning "shoes," which I thought were surprisingly nice because I didn't have to worry about smudging my toes on my shoes while I was waiting for the rest of my crew. I was escorted to a nice relaxation room, which had comfortable chairs, a fireplace, nature music/TV, and some complimentary fruit, water, and tea. Since everyone else had received massages, they had been given robes that looked relatively comfortable. After our whole group returned from their treatments, we went to the locker room and sat in the spa for a few minutes before using the showers. As a gift to my Maid of Honor (MOH) and Bridesmaids (BM). I treated them on a spa day. I've been to the Preserve long ago when they were under a different name. I really liked the spa and since my ladies have never been there, I figured this would be a good place to take them. Just be prepared it is Napa after all. The service per person cost $230 which included a 50 minute Swedish Massage and a 50 minute facial. We started at 10am and since there was 5 of us. They took half of us to one treatment and other half to the other. We were given a 15 minute break between each treatment. Both of the treatments was relaxing, almost to the point that several of us almost fell asleep. After the 2 hours we hanged out in the lounge area. It was nice since there was hardly anyone there. We kind of took over the lounge. I also ordered a fruit and cheese platter ($25 each). You can order anything off of the menu, since it is located near the hotel. Our package also included complimentary champagne. I had such a great time spending the day with my ladies. Being only a week before the wedding, it was definitely needed. Otherwise, I would probably have lost it. Thank you again to my bridal party for being a part of our special day. We are truly blessed to have you part of our lives. Where do I start? My fiancé and I have been to many spa's and we love getting away and spending the day at one, furthermore we do not mind spending money on these getaways. However, this one is probably the most awkward one yet. There is no pool, relaxation room is in the center of the spa, where all traffic comes thru, and outside is super tiny! Citrus water and snacks, like fruit, tea, and nut mix. Cons: All eucalyptus scented everything, including body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, massage oil, and possibly more. I had the loveliest experience! I ended up having a nice, long sleep right afterwards!!! I love getting massages and going right next door to go to bed. I was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to do another spa retreat! My boyfriend and I chose to get a couples massage ($120/person for 50min). The massage was great! My masseus's name was Stan. There was an automatic 20% gratuity and I was more than happy to provide that much tip because I had a very relaxing experience. He used the right amount of pressure and I felt like I was in heaven. I recommend to call on advanced to make an appointment. The receptionist is really nice and friendly. No need to pay up front until after your service and you can even charge it to your room. Before that, we went to the jacuzzi and I pretty much had it all to myself. I tried the eucalyptus steam room and I think I prefer saunas more. The wetness made it hard to breathe. The women's locker room was clean and well-stocked. The lockers had a pin pad instead of a lock and key. This was very convenient and easy to use. There were lots of towels and all of the hair products you needed. The waiting room was great too!! They provide tea, water and apples. I'm a local and I've been here several times over the years. Today I had a 50 minute deep tissue massage with Cori which was amazing! She took the time to listen to what I needed and customized her massage to fit my needs. I also had 80 minute facial with Cody that was so relaxing it almost put me to sleep. She is so good at listening and knowing when you don't want to talk, but just relax. It's a nice Spa to spend a relaxing morning when you need it! I had a deep tissue massage with Deanna and it was excellent, among the best I've had anywhere. 5 stars for the massage. The facilities were clean, but nothing to make this place a destination on its own (don't buy a day pass if it's offered), and the vanity area could use more amenities. To be fair, I'm comparing it to world class spas since that's what you'd expect in Napa; it is nicer than your average local day spa. If you're staying at the Marriott, it's a no-brainer. What a relaxing spa experience! I had the cascade treatment which was Swedish massage and body scrub treatment. My therapist shannon was very gentle and attentive. The body scrub is amazing where they had waterfall shower going down your body after the scrub.. Aaahhhh! This review is really for the facilities and not the personnel. I'll admit that I've been to a lot of really nice spas, but for the price of a 50 minute massage here, it's not worth it given the facilities. The woman at the front desk was very polite and had great customer service, but as soon as I walked into the women's locker room I was disappointed. The locker room is not picked up frequently as there were empty glasses and towels that remained in place for the 2 hours I was there. One of the toilet's was soiled and the shower I used needed to be snaked. The steam room smelled of mold and I didn't like that you had to manually turn it on yourself and wait for it to fill with steam. My masseuse was great, no complaints there. My husband's masseuse was not as great though and didn't want to adjust the pressure of the massage for him, saying that if he wanted more pressure then that would be a deep tissue massage. At the end of the day, we won't be back. The price should be lower given the state of the facilities. I say spend a little more and go to one of the highly acclaimed spas in Napa Valley. read more

First off, when I called to make my appointment I had several questions and Britney told me to go to the website as if she didn't have time to answer. Upon walking into the spa it was nice and I was greeted and When I had my pedicure that all changed. It was by far the worst! The foot file they used was grimy and dirty, as if it wasn't cleaned after the person prior to me. It looked like it was supposed to be pink but was literally brown. GROSS! during my pedicure the level of noise increased. I'm a pretty low maintenance type of girl and have never had a pedicure. That's right, never. I scheduled the appointment after many horrific complaints about my feet by friends and even my husband. I'm a local, and not impressed by much in this valley, as I'm used to the fine dining, spa atmosphere of most places and generally great service. But, I was absolutely blown away by my spa pedicure at the Preserve, and it's all due to my provider, Alec. She was so friendly, a great conversationalist and very sweet. I apologized profusely about the state of my feet (I wear sandals nine months out of the year and generally ignore my feet) but she approached the project with a fantastic attitude and made me feel really comfortable. I am a Napa local and have had the opportunity to experience spa services from several of the Napa establishments. I'm not certain why I had not been to The Preserve Spa at the Marriott prior to my appointment today. I had looked into the Spa Services offered previously, however, for some reason I never made an appointment until now. I really needed a massage today, primarily focusing on my feet and legs, and they had a service specifically for the area, the Balance Massage. I called before lunch and they were able to accommodate me the same day. I arrived a few minutes early and the two young ladies at the desk were very pleasant. It was quite refreshing. They weren't pretentious or rude, very sweet and kind. First impression was wonderful! Check-in was very quick and easy, then I was given a quick tour. The women's locker room has a Jacuzzi, sauna and showers. There is a nice waiting area with ice water and hot tea as well as an open air lounge area just outside the doors. You can order a snack or full meal from the restaurant menu or a glass of wine, which could be brought to you. Nice. I hadn't been waiting long when my masseuse called me, Diana. She directed me to the room for massage and explained the service I had requested and allowed me a few minutes to get ready. The Balance Massage was fantastic! Absolutely exactly what I needed after spending 13 hours on my feet. Diana checked in with me a few times throughout the 50 minute session to ask about pressure. Before I knew it, the massage was over and I was offered the opportunity to relax in the sauna or Jacuzzi, which I did. The locker room was very clean and was well stocked with basic necessities. Since I was staying at the Marriott next door for a meeting, this was a terrific opportunity to rejuvenate. Before the massage, I indulged in the invigorating warm waters of the whirlpool and the steam room, then waited in my comfy bathrobe in the resting lounge by the fireplace before I was called. Delfina was a first class masseuse who made sure to concentrate on my sorest back areas. After the massage, I was ushered into the spa pedicure area where Jessica gave me an excellent pedicure while I sipped sparkling wine. The spa also has a relaxing outdoor area with a fountain. We have the membership which rocks and we find reasons to go down there and enjoy pedicures (Kristin O.), facials and hair color treatments are a must and Amanda is the best!!! The serve delicious food from the restaurant either on their patio or in the lounge, have a sweet selection of gifts and salon merchandise and as a local I love being able to not wonder where I am going to get me hair, nails, eyebrows, and facials done or somewhere I can treat my friends to too! I was blown away by my experience at Preserve. I get massages on most trips and regularly in my hometown, but I have truly never had a better massage than I had by Julia at Preserve. She asked about areas to concentrate on and my lower back has never felt better. She spent the perfect amount of time working my lower back and stretching it to make it feel total relief and no soreness in the following days that I normally experience after a massage. Julia was so pleasant and friendly and even noticed that I was a bit stuffed up and offered eucalyptus to help clear me up. On December 5, 2016, I had the opportunity to enjoy a girls spa day with 5 of my friends. We all work in the wedding industry and got together to celebrate the end of a fabulous 2016 season! From the moment we walked into the lobby, the service was wonderful. They even had a sign welcoming our group, which was a thoughtful touch. I had a 50 minute head, neck and shoulder massage from Julie. I have had a lot of massages and I can honestly say she was the best therapist I think I have ever had! After my massage, I had a 50 minute body scrub and wrap with Shannon. If you have never treated yourself to a scrub and wrap, I highly recommend it. There is something so soothing about the vichy shower. Shannon was also amazing! I had told her about my dry winter skin and she made several recommendations for me, which I appreciated. After all of us had our treatments, we enjoyed champagne, lunch, a soak in the hot tub and a steam in the eucalyptus steam room. It was absolutely perfect! I had a terrible experience at the Preserve Spa this weekend, and I can say with confidence that I will definitely not be returning! I arrived as part of a bridal party there for a full spa day. I had brought my five month old son with me for the day of wedding festivities as I breastfeed full time. Upon arrival, we were greeted (rudely) by reception and I was told that babies were not allowed in the spa. I was completely unaware of this rule prior to our visit, but as we were all there for the day already, I was going to stay with the bride and my fellow bridesmaids. I was sent by myself to a small patio in the back of the spa while the other girls began their treatments. Two hours later, the bride had to switch places with me on the patio just so I could go and get my 30 minute haircut. After a few hours, the girls returned inside to use the spa in the locker room. I remained alone on the patio, continuing to respect the no-child policy. I finally entered the locker room to use the restroom and change my clothes with the rest of my group. Upon my arrival, champagne was being provided for a quick toast before we headed off to dinner. A blonde employee entered the locker room and again told me that I needed to leave the spa. I had been in the restroom area for less than a minute, and my child, who hadn't made a peep all day, was sitting quietly in his stroller. Our group were the only people in the entire locker room at the time. I explained to the employee that while I was trying to be respectful, I was there as part of a group and was trying to spend 5 minutes with my girlfriends before we left the spa for the day. At this point, I was practically kicked back out to the patio and told that someone would have to take turns watching my son for me if I wanted to change my clothes in the restroom. I would like to stress again that my son never made one sound the whole time we were at the spa today and never once came close to being disruptive of anyone's experience there. I was completely angered and embarrassed by the way I and my group was treated. I have stayed at the Napa Valley Marriott several times, and it was on my recommendation that we used their spa for our bridal party. Our group spent well over $500 at the spa and I feel that we were treated completely disrespectfully by each of the employees who worked in the reception area. I will not be returning to this spa or the hotel, and I would recommend that the employees there are taught to treat customers with respect and compassion! read more

Overall an "okay" spa. Spa days on vacations is something I really look forward to and this was no different. It seems that the staff is new, so when booking I was put on hold several times so they could get the answers to my questions. And then for my classic facial, I also got a new esthetician. While she was friendly, she shortened my treatment by 7 minutes. When you are paying over a dollar a minute for a treatment, you want to make sure you are given the total allotted time. And if you were wondering, yes, we started right on time. I told the spa admin about this and nothing was done, basically it was a "thank you for your feedback". Spa treatments are not cheap, and when you are on vacation you want to enjoy them. On another note, the steam room does not work properly. My experience at this spa was awful. Some of the staff was standing around gossiping, no one even acknowledged or greeted the clients coming in, the girl at the front desk (Brittany I believe her name was) was completely rude and had major attitude towards everyone that came near the desk. As for what I assume is the manager (I heard someone call her Trudy?), due to her not actively doing anything besides talking way too loud for a spa, was also super rude and talking badly about people who worked there, using profanity and not conducting herself as a manager should. Although I'm sure not ALL of the staff is horrible, I would suggest getting a few new members to replace the negative and rude employees. read more

My review is based on two things: My wife getting massages here/using the spa facilities, and me using the spa facilities. Spa facilities we used are the inside sitting area, locker room, showers, Jacuzzi and steam room. The spa had a special in December so the massage was reasonably priced. My wife had the 80-minute deep tissue massage. Last week she had the 80-minute deep tissue massage again, with the normal cost, which is $185. That is a lot of money, especially when you add in a 20 percent tip. So total cost for 80 minutes was $222. But I wanted to treat my wife, who has been working so hard lately and deserved it. Massage therapist both times was Deanna, and my wife said she does an excellent job. I used to get massages (not here, but at a reasonably priced place), but I do not get massages any more. So I just used the spa facilities and had a very relaxing time. I particularly like the steam room and relaxing in the inside sitting room. There is a fee to use the spa facilities, unless you are staying at the adjacent Marriott Hotel. The hotel charges a $20 per day resort fee, and that resort fee includes use of the spa between 7:30 and 10:00 am and between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. If you are getting a massage or other treatment, you can use the spa facilities any time of the day or evening. read more
