They found a damaged sensor and saved me lots. I returned two other times to see if it was worth investing into my 170K Plus miles Maxima. We went down a list of possible repairs, prices and duration. I selected the upgrades or repairs I was recommended and today, I still have my Maxima. Either they don't know what they're doing or they scam people, so either way you can't trust them. I brought my car in after having all my brakes replaced by a very skilled and knowledgeable mechanic who unfortunately lives very far from me. After a few weeks of having replaced them, I was getting a horrible screeching sound coming from ONE of them. Since I didn't want to drive my car far away to have it looked at, I looked for a shop with good reviews. I called this place and asked when I could have that one brake (and I told him MAYBE one other one but only specified one) looked at. They told me noon. So I dropped it off at 11:30 thinking they'll find the problem and get back to me that day. Nope, I had to leave my car overnight. When I dropped it off I asked what they charge to find the problem. He said we don't charge for that. It was 5 pm and they close at 6 and I hadn't heard anything so I called. He told me he drove it and heard what I did and was going to have to open up the brake to take a look (that's what I expected when I asked how much they charged to figure out the issue). He said this is when he told me about paying for labor and he probably did and I misunderstood since no one can literally just "look" and figure out what's wrong. Anyway, the next day when they called me to see what I wanted to do, they quoted me like $940! Saying I should replace all the brakes and they couldn't find the issue aside from that they were rusted (surface rust which is normal even with new ones). ???? I told them it was grossly overpriced. I've never paid that much for brakes and honestly, it's not that big of a deal to figure out what's going on for a good mechanic. It's just brakes. So I told them to send me a quote for the ONE brake that was giving me the noise which I originally said to check out. Still came back to $350. I said there's no way I'm paying that much so I was just going to pick my car up and I'd figure it out. Before I hung up they said $130 for the labor to take them apart to look at them. No work was actually done aside from taking all 4 brakes apart (remember I never told them to do that) and there was not even an answer as to what the problem was. So my regular mechanic that I can trust drove down to check it out. He figured it out in less than 10 minutes by just taking off the tire; didn't have to take the brake apart. It was just a clip that was expanding with the heat and scratching the rotor. He fixed that and no more problem. So like I said, either they don't know what they're doing or they're being dishonest. Either way, save yourself the headache and money and find another place.

They told me to 'come on over' and they'd try to keep me heading down the road.... They couldn't have been more correct. I waited no more than 5 minutes to roll my van into the shop, they worked on it diligently, and even stayed about 45 minutes late to keep to their word. and the price was FAIR! Thanks guys! Luis told me to come in for a free diagnostic and immediately walked me through exactly how he'd evaluate the problem and what the possible outcomes could be. He showed me everything & results in real time--and it turns out my car had no significant leaks, and I did NOT need the $3,500 repair I was quoted elsewhere. Moe to the Rescue ! I accidentally put a couple of gallons of water in my Silverado (5.3L…read moregasoline engine) and guess what, it stalled in traffic about one mile later. I talked to Moe at Tech Motors, and he said to try some alcohol in the tank to absorb the water. Nice of him to offer a do-it-yourself attempt, but it did not work :( So I had the truck towed to Tech Motors and they dropped the tank, cleaned it completely, ran some clean gasoline and fuel injector cleaner through it, and I was back on the road. The price was very reasonable for all the work done. Thanks Moe!

I generally only write reviews on Yelp when its negative. I don't read reviews for the positive but…read morefor the negative ones. Here's one. I had been taking my car to Tech Motors for years. I've known the owner Mo for years but the last experience I had was horrible. I would not trust this shop. They charged me to replace a starter which they had replaced only 18 months ago. The service cost over $1,000 and after two weeks and three tows later my car still would not start. Mo told me he didn't want to work on my car again and I should trade in my car cause it was 10 years old and it would give me nothing but problems. I drove it off and the next day it wouldn't start again. I took it to another shop and they repaired the wire connecting the battery to the starter and told me the battery was the wrong one and it was undersized. I replaced that. The starter was good and my car was repaired and it was the battery the wires and the wrong battery which they put in. I'm very disappointed in Mo cause I trusted him but he ended up ripping me off and putting in used/refurbished parts that shouldn't have been put in a BMW. And he couldn't get my car to start because of the battery and the wire connecting it to the starter were shorted out. What a great mechanic to not figure that one out? He would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for the fact that my car wouldn't start after bringing it back two times after the first time I brought it back in. They charged me for a new battery cable end but he had only tightened the one already there. He was charging me for parts that he didn't even replace. It's when my car wouldn't start after the second time I took it back, that's when I started suspecting he was ripping me off and after looking at my past invoices, he most definitely had. My car is driving well now despite the wrong, used and low quality parts being put in a BMW high-performance car so he could save me money? Every time I took my car in, it cost me at least $1,000 so using used, refurbished parts to save money didn't make sense and that's when I started suspecting him of dishonest, unscrupulous behavior. He could make more money off giving me used, refurbished parts and they weren't even BMW refurbished parts. He's telling me he wants to save me money by using these parts are not BMW but I didn't know they were used and refurbished plus but he's ripping me off. He knew what he was doing. It wasn't incompetence. What a nightmare and I'm so glad he told me not to bring my car back cause I now have a better, less expensive and honest mechanic. These people are not honest. They're criminal. If he did it to me, he'll do it to anyone. I don't understand what happened to him to turn him into a dishonest and disreputable mechanic. I believed him cause he seemed to be telling the truth but the first time I caught on to something questionable was when he replaced my battery three years ago with one he told me he charged up and I would need to come in and get a new one. He charged me for a used NAPA the legend professional battery. I called him once as he had instructed me to do but he didn't have any desire to replace it with the correct battery. I paid $367 for a used NAPA undersized battery which he charged up so it may have been a dead battery for all I know that he sold me. He didn't dispute the charge back. I hate it when mechanics think they can rip off women cause we don't know any better and I'm writing this review only because I think people should know this in order to make wise decisions and to hold Mo accountable for ripping me off. You cannot trust this mechanic.
