There were 3 areas I wanted fixed on my 2016 4Runner before putting it up for sale: the rear quarter panel where I scraped a stucco post, the rear bumper from too many scuba tanks, and deteriorating clear coat on the rear spoiler. I got quotes from 2 local body shops that were insane. Not only were the quotes over 5 times what I ended up paying, they wanted to do full disassembly and keep the truck for "at least a week." So, I found Raymond Quadros and The Professionals. I sent him pictures first, but he said he really needed to see the truck, so I drove from Gilroy to San Jose. After looking at it, he explained how he would do the job, gave me an estimate on the spot and we set up a date for the work. He is very experienced and professional - after years of working in body shops, he's been on his own for 10 years. He showed up on time in his well-equipped van and proceeded to set up and get to work in our driveway. I have a little body work experience, and he was very detailed and thorough - taping, sanding, filling, sanding, sealing, priming, sanding, painting and clear coat. He was here for 9 hours. He mixes the color himself - the color match is perfect and the truck looks great! He only works mobile, so you have to have a place for him to do the work (he mentioned that apartments are out). Raymond was incredibly helpful from start to finish. I was looking to have parts of my car exterior repaired because the clear coat was peeling. I was able to receive an in-person estimate, and it was very convenient that Raymond has a mobile business, so I was able to leave my car at home while he worked on it. He might ask for access to an outlet, so try to have one ready for him. I wish he could've done my hood as well, but he informed me that doing paint for a hood panel requires a lot of paint, and the neighbors sometimes get worried, so I'll have to get my hood repaired by another shop. He did, however, smooth out the clear coat and put primer on the hood to save some steps for the next shop. He also informed me that the previous owner of my car had it repainted, and laid out step by step what to tell the next shop regarding having the paint redone. He's very knowledgeable in his craft! My wife's car got scratched in a car park by a truck on a Saturday morning so I started contacting body shops and Raymond was one of the first to reply. Out of the quotes, Raymond came out to be the cheapest and almost half the price of the majority of the physical body shops. Scheduling was straightforward and was able to get the next available date for both of us. On the day, he arrived on time and was able to set up promptly (even cleaning my driveway to avoid dust) and explained everything he was going to do. You could tell he knew his stuff as he was able to tell that the car previously had a paint job that was not visible to me. I asked whether he bought the paint from the dealership and he said he actually makes his own paint as dealership paint will not match the current colour due to sun, rain and other factors. He worked solidly for hours and was very meticulous as you could see he cared about the quality of work. Once we got the car back, it looked like new and you couldn't tell that there was any previous damage. So this isn't the most important thing, it was Raymond's integrity and honesty. We accidentally overpaid since we paid cash as we had some notes stuck together. I can't say enough good things about him. My situation: My white bmw bumper had an encounter with a concrete planter. It wasn't just an easy scratch in the clear coat I could buff out, it went beyond the paint and was a deep gash into the metal and not just one either. I need to return the car since it's leased. I found a service that connects with various mobile repair services out there (kinda like Uber) that was less than his pricing but he had unanimous positive reviews and I wouldn't know which guy they would send over. His pricing was fair but also better than most. Responsiveness: most folks respond decently and he was great about that. Service: Others I checked with told me they could fit me in two weeks later but I wanted this over and done with; he saw me two days after I messaged him. Arrived on time and was perfect. Like the other reviewers mentioned, Raymond is a magician. Fixed my rear bumper that got a small dent - gentle bumped another car accidentally backing up but still got damaged, plastic indentation, I couldn't believe how brittle the plastic part of the bumper. He was concerned that he would not be able to get rid of the high part so after painting that you would still see a small bump, not smooth like the original. But he somehow was able to get rid of it using a heat gun and the paint job came out smooth & beautiful like it never happened. I would highly highly highly recommend Raymond. UPDATE: Forgot to mention about the color match. I was very happy that the color matched. I have a PPF which adds a yellow hue but when I peeled it off on the other panel, I couldn't tell a difference. Most other body shops I've visited the color was off a shade and you can tell. I think they say that to make more money so they have to paint a larger area saying I need to feather the paint out but I think its partial bull just to charge you more. I never could understand nowadays with all the high tech mixing and with the OEM Paint Codes why you can't match it exactly. It could also be that they are using a cheap paint of not high quality. I don't know what paint brand he uses but it looks professionally done. How long with it last, don't know but time will tell. This wasn't like a $5k collectors car job so not worried about it. Raymond painted the whole bumper but thats because "I" suggested it, there were some chip spots on the ends that could use a touchup but Raymond never said to me the whole bumper in fact he suggested he can take it quarter way so I knew he was a honest guy to me.
