The blonde elderly woman that was sitting at the front and helped us during our appointment ruined our experience. She was very rude and kept making comments insinuating we had low budget restrictions. Budget restrictions were never once discussed- she assumed our budget was low from the very beginning and quickly escorted us to the clearance section not even allowing us a glance at the current in season dresses. We picked a dress on our own from a mannequin at the front of the store and she had the nerve to ask the bride in the dressing room "do you even know how much this dress costs?" Throughout the appointment she kept commenting on us "being able to swing" alterations as if we could not afford it. It was really disheartening to see the brides face when she kept commenting on money- so uncomfortable. We kept our composure and did not want to ruin ours and other brides experiences that were in the shop during our appointment. The young blonde that helped our bride in the fitting room was a peach. She never made a comment about pricing and was so uplifting the entire appointment. She was the only reason we stayed the entire duration of the appointment. We have been to multiple fittings this season and this is a first to EVER be treated like this. So unprofessional and just sad. read more

I walked in without an appointment several weeks ago and the lady behind the counter was courteous but not super friendly. She told me they were booked for the day, even though the place was empty, and I could make an appointment online or give them a call and they could try to fit me around their appointments. I spent a few weeks looking at their online gown selection and decided to make an appointment, but they have incredibly limited business hours. They're only open from Thursday - Saturday 11 am - 5 pm and 10 am - 4 pm on Sundays. On Thursday and Friday they only offer two appointments 12 pm and 2 pm. I checked for many weeks online and they never had any other appointment options online. On weekends they only have three appointment times 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. I finally made an appointment and their website does state the following: "FREE appointment!!! $25.00 no-show charge or cancellation fee if canceled within 48 hours of the appointment, $50.00 on weekends." I found my dress at a different bridal shop and immediately called to cancel. I literally called 15 min after the 48 hour limit started and I was still charged $50. Other businesses have policies that are similar but they're not literal. I've cancelled appointments within the 24-48 hours limits and have not been charged fees. Also considering they only open Thursday - Sunday it's hard to cancel within 48 hours so they must be making bank on cancelled appointments or no shows. I told the lady on the phone "Wait, you're still going to charge me?" and she said it was the system which was interested because I'm sure she does it manually. I didn't even get a confirmation of my appointment until 24 hours after I made the appointment online. Look I get it's a business, but they could have let 15-20 minutes slide. I could have just shown up and wasted their time without buying anything, but gave them a courtesy notice so they could schedule someone else. read more

After shopping for bridal dresses at another boutique store and not finding anything I liked/wanted, I was a little sad that I couldn't really experience the whole "a-ha! say yes to the dress!" moment with my mom. However, we were referred to go to The Proposal in Redlands and I was pleasantly surprised. We went on a whim since we were in the area and my mom doesn't live remotely close by and they were able to squeeze us in right away. The other caveat to my conundrum was that I needed something off-the-rack as I needed my dress in a timely manner. We went in with low-to-no expectations, but we found something right away and I was so happy and really excited! Parking/Location: The establishment is located a little on the outskirt in a mini plaza so it could easily be missed if you weren't looking. I had the most magical day! The Proposal Shop was everything I could ever want! I fell in love with so many dresses, it was hard to pick the final one. Susan was my helper and she was so nice and made me so comfortable! My appointment was only supposed to be 45 minutes but I ended up taking 2 hours trying on dresses and they never rushed me out. I love that I had the whole room to myself. Susan helped me so much!! She brought me a dress and said "can you try this one on? If you hate it, it's okay!" It pains me to write this, but as a recent bride, I felt the need to warn the brides to be searching for their perfect dress. I came in about 3 months before my wedding to find a dress that was either in-stock or could be ordered quickly. Let me preface by saying there were two other dresses I was considering at another local bridal shop, so this purchase was not out of desperation or last-minute planning, we just didn't want to have a long engagement. I wasn't searching for a super specific dress, so I was open to trying on a bunch of styles that would be ready in time. A style caught my eye right away, an A-Line dress with Swiss dot overlay. So lovely! I tried it on and everyone in my party loved it, and so did I. I tried on a size 12, and am typically a street size 14. Let me also say that I know how bridal sizing typically goes, but in the other two dresses I liked at the other shop from designer Hayley Paige, I was a size 14. Anyway, my mom right away offered to buy the dress, but wanted me to try on the other styles we'd pulled. None of them really worked out, but here's where the odd part came. The woman helping us insisted she take my measurements OVER the size 20 wedding dress I was wearing. I'm talking a fully padded corset bust, and full skirt with layers and layers of tulle. I didn't think about it at the time and figured she knew what she was doing. I wasn't measured at the other place because I just had tried on dresses that fit (again, size 14). So we decided to go with the Swiss dot dress. When ordering the dress, she insisted I order a size 20, saying to go off the widest measurements, which is my hips. The size 20 hips measures 50.5", the bust 48", the waist 40". My measurements were taken as followed- 43"bust, 38" waist 49.5" hips. I had recently measured myself and knew those measurements were off but she insisted I should order a size 20. I persisted and said I wanted to order a 16. She gave me a hard time and said she nearly guaranteed I was making a bad decision. I decided to order an 18 because I couldn't argue about it anymore. Well, what do you know, when I got my dress a few weeks later, I was SWIMMING in it. And before you go thinking I lost all this weight, I actually gained 6 lbs during my trip and kept it in all the way up to the wedding. I took it to a respected tailor in my town, and she charged me $360 to get it as best as she could, altered the length, the waist and hips, but basically said because such a huge size was ordered, there was only so much she could do without rebuilding the corset which would cost several hundred dollars and we now didn't have time. So flash to my wedding. The cups were gaping, I felt uncomfortable, half of my pics are unusable because you can see the top half of my breast and the gaping cup. I wanted to share because I feel this could have been avoided had proper measurements been taken and a proper size ordered. We paid $1450 for the dress, $360 for alterations, and I just want to sell it for whatever I can get for it now. Makes me sad to think about my dress now. Edited to add that the reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one is that they do have a nice selection of dresses in a wide price range, and the shop is very cute inside. She was also to take us as a walk in several hours after we first walked in. read more

The Proposal Bridal Boutique - DO IT!!!! The best investment of your life! PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW! This is a story of how a wedding was saved because of Terry--a hero and the business owner. Life threw a HUGE curveball at me. I found myself in a critical dilemma that was met and graciously resolved with the excellence and professionalism of the Proposal Bridal Boutique's staff and owner Terry. My experience was noteworthy enough for me to recount it here. Allow me to explain. I was a bridesmaid for a wedding taking place at the Speakeasy located a few blocks away from The Proposal Bridal Boutique. The wedding was scheduled to begin at 4pm and at 3:30PM as final touches were being made on the bride's wardrobe, we noticed that her veil was wrinkled to a fault. It could not be ignored. I acted quickly walked with the veil to a nearby cleaner business who offered to steam it on extremely short notice. After a 5 minute wait, I returned at 3:45 PM and was met with the cleaner's face of panic and horror. "I am so so so sorry!" he pled. In short, the steamer burnt a sizable hole in the tulle of the veil. I did not have time to panic or berate the man. It goes without saying that he did not charge me. I took the veil and remembered that there was a nearby bridal store--The Proposal Bridal Boutique. I called the business and hastily explained my dilemma. It was then that I met Terry, the wonderful owner. She not only offered to hand deliver a selection of veils right before the start of the wedding, but she lent it to the bride free of charge. And as agreed, I returned the veil the next morning. This review is a tale of generosity and benevolence in a situation where blame and panic was not a solution. The bride and her entire family were grateful to Terry for her act of angelic generosity. I highly recommend this boutique, as the service, care, and professionalism is top notch and the staff show care for their customers' needs. read more

This local boutique was the first place that I went to for a bridal appointment! It was easy to book an appointment online, and upon arrival, the dresses looked beautiful on the racks. Its location and visual from the outside is unassuming, but once you step inside, this boutique is charmingly picturesque, and the staff is sweet, patient and informative. My bridesmaids are scattered throughout the states, so I went with just Mom and my future mother-in-law. They're pretty mellow and kind, but can definitely have some spurts of strong opinions when it comes to a wedding dress. Becky helped me that day, and was very perceptive to how I reacted to the dresses (even though I was mostly silent). I had the most unexpected and fantastic experience at The Proposal. I booked an appointment on a girl's trip, just to start playing with some style ideas. I truly had no intention of choosing a dress. We were greeted by my stylist Janay, and she explained the layout of the store. She allowed us to pick about 6 dresses for my 45 minute appointment, and was very helpful in picking some styles and giving some ideas. I ended up saying yes to the third dress I put on! Janay offered her expertise on accessories and veils, and we found the perfect look. She even let me stay for a little bit after closing to let me try my favorite on one more time. I came upon this beautiful bridal boutique by chance. I had tried on a beautiful Lilian West gown at another salon ... but because our wedding was in 8 short weeks ... I thought I had no choice but to buy the dress off the rack ... the sample dress. The sample dress looked worn from so many brides trying it on and I really wanted a new dress. I went home and looked up the style number and vendor name and This little place popped up. I called and spoke to the owner of the salon who was so sweet and truly wanted to help me. I explained my situation and she went to work trying to find my dress and see if they could order a brand new and have it to me in plenty of time. She did it. She called the vendor to make sure I could have the dress in time and I went all the way down to Redlands - over 40 miles to have her take my measurements and order the dress. My experience could not have been more perfect, I forgot to bring the heels I planned on using for my wedding when I initially picked out the dress but that was no problem for the staff.
