Cooked to perfection, tender and moist inside with nice toasting to outside and just right amount of rock salt. Only disappointing part was the lack of a good dipping mustard. First off, excellent customer service. I was here a year ago April and the service was POOR and I walked out within 15 minutes of being seated with zero service. I was drawn back to North Coast Brewing Company because it had dog friendly, outdoor dining. The menu looked good and there were two things on menu I was considering, They also had decent reviews since my last visit. I was hopeful. Jasmine was my server. She took my drink order and returned promptly with my Diet Coke. I was considering the Never Say Die BBQ Burger which comes with bacon, cheese and the usual veggies served on a pretzel bun and accompanied by onion rings OR Batter fried Half Fish and Half Shrimp with batter dipped fries. Jasmine said either were great choices. I opted for the burger since I'd had fish, shrimp and chips the previous day. Kitchen staff brought the wrong burger with fries. Jasmine immediately came to my rescue, pulled up and verified my order to kitchen staff of the Never Say Die Burger. They took back my plate and 10 minutes or so later, the correct order was served to me. The pretzel bun was amazing, the beef was very tasty and the burger was cooked to my liking, generous amount of melted American cheese and bacon slices. Good serving size of onion rings. Condiments are at the table. Burger was really good, 4 stars. The onion rings were overly greasy, saturated with oil and may have been sitting a bit, they were room temperature at best. Wish I'd opted for fries. Great service, attentive wait staff - thanks Jasmine. Good burger. Disappointed with onion rings. Overall 4 star rating. I might try this place again. read more

We were vacationing in Mendocino, so we drove to Fort Bragg to have some beers. We had a large group of 10 so service took some time because everybody ordered beer flights. My husband and I came here for the first time a few days ago with our two pups, we couldn't have had a better time. We were able to bring our pups in and sit on the back patio. We indulged in a couple of beers with 1/2 shrimp 1/2 fish and fries. Let me tell you, we shared it but I wish we didn't. Hahaha, the fish and shrimp were both super fresh and delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. We also had the pretzel as an appetizer through a recommendation of our server and it did not disappoint! Everyone here was just so friendly to us and our pups. Since we were the only ones in the back patio, they were very attentive and checking on us throughout the night. They even have heaters on the back patio that came in handy as well. I've been here several times over the years and never been disappointed. Last time I had the Nachos, enough for at least 2 if not 3 people.

This is the gift shop to the brewery across the street. Welcoming high end shop with beer/wine tshirts sweatshirts glassware and much more. The customer service was on point the employees knew the products well and that was refreshing. The stock was all very nice quality. Loved the shop. But it is not a brewery or restaurant. What a great find! While on vacation, we stopped by with our dogs. This place has outdoor seating and does allow you to bring your furry pal to hang with you outdoors. Aside from being pet friendly, GREAT food. The Mac and cheese was out of this world. This could be a meal all by itself. We didn't know that, so we ordered shrimp and chips too. Shrimp was great. Not rubbery and lightly fried. You can upgrade to garlic fries, which of course we did. Beer selection is great! We travel here once a year and definitely plan on returning! read more

We came with our small dog on a rainy Sunday afternoon and we sat out front under the large tent (they gave us the option to go inside which we appreciated). The staff were very attentive and made sure to light the heater. Service was very fast, we blinked and our food arrived! I had the chowder and the B.L.A.T. Both were very good and the portions were generous. Inside they have more seating, a bar and a gift shop (they offered our pup some treats). They have a very large outdoor area that is dog friendly. They were able to accommodate our group of 10 on Saturday for lunch on the spot. Service was incredible. The hamburger pretzel buns are beyond amazing. They elevate their burgers to a whole new culinary level. The nachos are solid. They obviously use real cheddar cheese. The portions are generous, but the taste was nothing notable and well, we went on a Friday night and there was only 2 people in the kitchen taking care of everything, so not an easy task. This place seemed cool from the outside, and the staff was very nice, but overall the place needs some help from better management. First we waiting in line outside for a host for over 10 minutes (red flag, weird). Then we were told because they were short-staffed, it would be 30-40 minutes to get a table (ummm ok...) We ask if we can order a drink at the bar while we wait. There were three people behind the bar, but we waited forever for someone to take our drink order. Another couple at the other end of the bar was literally asking anyone who'd listen, "Can we just order a drink? We just want to order..." We finally got seated at the worst table in the middle of the floor when there was entire empty room full of tables nearby. In that biggest room, a musician sat there playing to no one--literally no one was seated in this large room. Super-weird and sad for everyone involved. We waited for our food and eventually saw the cooks place it in the little chef's window. We took a photo of the food sitting there because it was so comical and torturous that no one was serving it to us, and we were starving. On top of all of this, the place just needs a modern makeover. Ugly carpets, tacky/cheap decor, a large "merch" room with no charm... Atmosphere SOS. The food and beer were OK. What do you do when your daughter comes to town a day early and it just happens to be her birthday ? Why take her and her amazing beau to dinner. Since she will get another dinner Saturday night with the rest of the family at a place we've already reviewed, she chose North Coast Brewing Company. None of us had been there in a looong minute so it was a date. Making sure to mention to the host, who was our server, that it was her birthday.. We were promptly seated. I've always loved the atmosphere there and my pictures don't do justice to the outside, it's very pretty. We started with the and , both very yummy leaving us very excited for the next course. The burger with garlic fries was devoured quickly, a definite treat. The Mac n Cheese was good but not exactly how it was described on the menu. It could have used the jalapeños as mentioned on the menu and more cheese of course. The birthday girl did not want to shake the so she ate it. I am a big fan of their fish n chips as well as the fries, it was more than I could eat so my daughter took the leftovers. All in all a good experience and I'll keep recommending it online and in person. Now a bit of scatter shooting... When did restaurants give up singing or bringing even a small dessert if you mention a birthday? I am sure Covid may have had something to do with it, but it's kind of sad. Customer service and doing more than what's expected used to be customary, now it's not the norm. Being in the hospitality industry I see it more and more, the old Brinker standard is . Ordered take-out one night since we were staying in with our two young children. One of my children has an egg allergy which makes dining out challenging, especially on vacation. When I called in, I made sure to go over ingredients in a couple of the dishes and stated the egg allergy and was assured all would be well if I made a couple substitutions. Sadly, the kitchen didn't follow-through with the substitutions, so my child's kids burger wasn't safe to eat and they had to switch with another adult's meal. Management was very apologetic when I called in to report it and gifted us a welcomed token of apology, but it did leave us too nervous to dine there again while in town. Hopefully, my child will have outgrown their egg allergy by the time we come down again, because their fish and chips are excellent. read more

You don't need this advice while traveling, but drink like local, here being North Coast Brewing. There is a reason why Old Rasputin is a standard in bottle shops. Pull a pint and take in the grey costal weather that creeps along the roads and alleys on little cat feet. Need someting with more pep? Try a beer cocktail to find a ray of sunshine in your glass (full bar inside, you know). Also don't miss the chili or the chowder when you come, but if you're down this path once, go with the chili. Dogs are allowed! The outdoor patio was nicely set up to keep the family warm so the dogs could join :). The BEST Clam Chowder that I have had to date. We came back the next day for another round of fantastic beer and chowder - even our little one loved it which of you knew her you would understand is a huge compliment! One negative - we really wanted to purchase some merch from their shop but the sweatshirts were way too expensive which was a downer. $50 to $60 I would have dived in but $70-$90 is not affordable. read more

I was excited to come here during a recent trip to Mendocino. You can get beer flights in a set of 4 and they brew so many different styles there's sure to be a beer you enjoy. My favorites were the saison and Pacific magic ipa. I like their system of offering beer flights as well. Instead of balancing cups on a cutting board or something they have a laminated sheet of the beer labels and then place each beer on the coordinating label.There's a big patio area you can bring your dogs to so extra points for being so dog friendly. The highlight of this brewery for me was the food. I usually don't expect much when I go to a brewery but the food here is amazing. I got the shrimp poboy with a side of Caesar salad and my partner got a burger with a side of onion rings. Everything was delicious and I would definitely come back to try the chowder fries and mac and cheese. The shrimp in my sandwich were huge and very fresh tasting. The bread they used was crispy and was the perfect ratio of bread to fillings. Love this brewery and can't wait to come back. read more

Very mediocre bar food. Their beer is solid but you can get it anywhere in California. On vacation, we went for lunch and it was fair to bad. Fries and onion rings were cold upon getting us our food. We had a party of 10 and so we tried most things. The BBQ burger had hardly any BBQ sauce. The fish and chips were soggy and limp. Clam chowder was NOT GOOD. Like....tasted like canned potato soup. The rest of the food was unmemorable. I wish we would have gone somewhere else but at least we can say we tried it. read more

Want some good bang for your buck? This the place! A set of four beer samplers is $8, that's enough for me to call it 5 stars right there! If that wasn't enough, the garlic waffle fries are actually garlicky, not just seasoned on top. It'll leave you more than satisfied, that I guarantee. Solid spot, but not a fan of the service. Went there the first night before the Skunk train to grab some food and beers. Great selection of beers and the lobster roll I had was amazing. Hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten. Our server was alright. He got a little busy so we didn't see him that often, but our encounters with him were a little odd. It felt like he didn't want to deal with us. Then the thing that really led to a lower review is that my wife and I were turned away the 2nd time we tried to go. It was 7PM on a Saturday which is an hour before they close. I could get 15 minutes before they close or if they were really swamped, but we saw a half full restaurant. I don't know if it was because they are understaffed or what, but to me that's not cool to do to a customer. read more

This well known restaurant is just as special to the locals of Fort Bragg, CA as it is to the ongoing tourist coming through. It's just one of the finest establishment that the locals enjoy and the tourists that visit. I love the many food choices and their beer samplers. The waiter gave us suggestions as to what beer they serve that was closest to something that we were used to drinking. Their beer choices are amazing. So don't be afraid to leave your trust in your waiter, they won't stir you in the wrong direction. I have just a few favorites restaurants that I love to eat at in Fort Bragg, CA. This is one of them. Also...., If you enjoy eating bread with your dinner they also serve that during their dinner hour. We went here with friends recently and sat outside with our pet pig, yes they are a pet and pig friendly establishment. The food was incredible and freshly prepared to order. The wait staff was extremely attentive, even bringing a bowl of water for our pig to enjoy. Everyone outside had dogs, so this is a very pet friendly place. Came here for an anniversary vacation. Bartender made the best whiskey sour ice had in a while. Asked for no egg and Crown. She was funny and accommodating. Food came out fast and was delicious. Sourdough was warm and soft. Looks like a local favorite. Bar area was clean and well stocked. Came back the next day, today, to watch the game. Food is still great and it's busier. Waitress is super attentive and knows her menu. Outside has a nice seating area with several patio heaters. Great place to go. Glad we found it. Will come again, next time we're in town. read more

This is one of our favorite brew pub restaurants for a variety of reasons. Not only is the food outstanding as well as the beer, which is important of course, but it is a kid friendly environment where everybody is welcome. We started out with our clam chowder fries which we had never heard of before they were outstanding and then I had the fish and chips again outstanding and my husband had their pork schnitzel with the sauerkraut fritters. The pork schnitzel was excellent. I have to take points away though for the sauerkraut fritters because they had a weird kind of pasty texture that just was nasty to chew on. Other than that though, outstanding meal outstanding service. Very friendly and good for families! read more
