A tiny oyster that's counted as one of the half dozen.
    Momo Q.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience here was highly disappointing. This is not a Michelin-starred establishment, yet the wait times and lack of attention made for a very frustrating meal. The Wait: We sat for over 20 minutes before receiving water or placing our order. It took at least another 30 minutes for our very first dish to arrive. The Food: The steamer clams were overly salty and full of sand. One of the oysters was also shockingly tiny. When we pointed this out, the waitress claimed extra oysters had been added to the shells, but we did not see any evidence of that. The Service: Basic service was missing. We never received water refills, and our empty shell plates were never cleared, leaving a massive pile of clutter on the table. The Bill & Gratuity: A 20% gratuity was automatically added because we were a party of 6 (5 adults and a baby). After we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waitress did remove the automatic charge and said sorry that we didn't like the food. However, her apology felt insincere and making it clear she was mostly upset about losing part of her tip. We still left a 12% tip out of courtesy, but given the combination of poorly prepared food and unattentive service, we will not be returning.

Once again a most delicious seafood experience. Ahi and scallops. Flavors are spot on. The service was impeccable. And the decor was inviting. My favorite restaurant in Fort Bragg, CA and certainly near the tippy top of my all time favorites.

Authentic seafood. We really enjoyed our dinner. The scallops were our favorite ! They were a treat, so tender and made to perfection. I always get cioppino and was rather surprised at the flavors of dish; delicious. We sat outside by the fire pits. If you're looking for authentic seafood and fresh visit KW Saltwater.

This was such a delicious meal! The fish was cooked perfectly and the bread was so perfect. The staff was very attentive and the vibe was really warm.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Came back to celebrate my birthday with a dozen of my family and friends. Chef Christy was so professional, accommodating, flexible and friendly. The rest of the staff was great as well. One family member is vegan and Chef C said they can make vegan food for her. We ordered a bunch of entrees and everything was delicious. We had oysters, salad, steak, cod, salmon and pasta. Every one loved their dishes. We sat outdoors - the covered patio rocks. There's a fireplace which added to the beautiful setting. I highly recommend KW saltwater grill. This will be our go to place when I'm around the area.

Delicious halibut! I subbed mashed potatoes instead of asparagus.

My husband and I went here yesterday for dinner and it was a very good experience. The atmosphere was romantic and the food was delicious. My husband got a brisket special and I had the halibut, then we shared the pot be crème for dessert. While the restaurant does not boast views of the ocean like some other places nearby, we did get to hear the skunk train go by every now and then, which was fun. The service was decent. Honestly I think the most attentive person was someone who I think might be the chef? Not 100% sure, but she brought us our food and was very friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here for a romantic dinner!

First people there when it opened and still took quite sometime for our meals - which came out cold. The scallops were rubbery and had way too much pepper so I didn't eat them. The cauliflower was ice cold. The halibut was good but the veggies were ice cold. The mushroom app was soggy and should have come with bread or something. Didn't eat much of that either. The oysters - two of three were very oceany and sandy. The salad was the only really good thing. The side of crab meat was hot and good. Would I eat here again? No. Would I recommend it? No. Especially for the $240 price and we didn't even have any drinks!

This place is so delicious!! The drinks were good, the food was smacking, and the place was clean & looked nice. We ate outside which is covered and temp controlled. Our waiters (Ron & Juan - apologies if I'm getting the names wrong) were friendly and attentive. Great suggestions and quick! We started with Moscow Mules and Michelada oyster shooters. For the main, I got the Ahi Tuna and my husband got the Steak Filet. Seafood was Hella fresh & yummy! We will be coming here every time we visit the area! Go here, you won't be disappointed. Pinky swear.

    Sea scallops.

The food here is wonderful! We had the sea scallops and the Crab Cioppino. The sea scallops were the most tender scallops I have ever had. The Crab Cioppino speaks for itself when you see the picture. They were most generous with filling the cioppino bowl so full with ingredients. It was easily enough for two people! The service was excellent and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Love this restaurant in Fort Bragg for more elevated dining. It is easy to find, good parking and the food is.....well it's amazing. The service is top notch and they are very knowledgeable about the local wines for pairing. We were seated outside in the covered patio area with heaters. It was rainy and windy but we were shielded well and cozy by the fire. We have been here before and had the black cod and scallops but this trip we opted to get the seafood closer, crab and scallop dish. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the crab was tender and flavorful. The seafood chowder was also really good. Finished it off with the hazelnut semifreddo that's simply refreshing and delicious.

I celebrated my anniversary dinner here. Definitely more low key/ casual which i enjoyed. We had a reservation for a Saturday night so no wait time. It did seem like they had a decent amount of people. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. Outdoor dining had heater lamps as well as being fully covered. Side note: I saw they offer picnic baskets! Seems like such a good idea to pick up when headed to the beach or Skunk train. Appetizers we ordered: Oyster Shooters and Oysters on the Half Shell (1/2 dozen). Both of these were good, but personally i enjoyed the oysters on the half shell better. Fried Monterey Squid: The calamari was so delicious. Definitely recommend trying. The ginger lime aioli complimented the dish so well. Entrees we ordered: I ordered the Pan Seared Scallops and my boyfriend ordered the Chili Rock Cod. Both were cooked very well and the flavor was Magnificient! For the dessert, we ordered the Creme Brulee and my oh my was this delicious. I HIGHLY recommend trying this restaurant. All of our dishes were amazing and it was a great anniversary dinner.

Had a wonderful bday dinner here tonight. I'm fussy when it comes to seafood because I'm spoiled living in SF. Our server, Amanda, was fantastic, but they also take a team approach and everyone was attentive and listened. Raw oysters are wasted on me, so we delighted in the chipotle bourbon butter grilled oysters, instead. That was my fave dish of the night. The oysters were giant, tender, and the smokiness of the chipotle really set off the sweetness of the meat. We could have gorged on a dozen or two of those and a beer (scrimshaw on draft!) and been satisfied. We also enjoyed the fried squid (their version of calamari), which was also very fresh and tender. The simple gem salad was crisp romaine with a really tasty dressing. I ordered some steamed clams and was really impressed. The clams were incredibly clean they were dressed with fresh garlic, onion, tomato and herbs along with a creamy broth. My guy had the seared ahi, which was also cooked perfectly with some black and white sesame included in the sear. The accompanying carrot slaw was really tasty. Dress is casual, which is refreshing. Jeans are fine. Don't let the humble (but clean and comfortable) interior fool you,; the quality of this seawould hold its own against some of the highest end places. I don't write reviews often because I'm lazy and would rather stay in the moment. I just had to throw these folks some love, though. This was a milestone bday for me, but I know it's a small town and I didn't have high expectations. I was delighted. We'll definitely be back.

First and foremost, the waiter was very nice and pleasant -- I believe she's also a teacher on the side. The inside was cozy and cute. My favorite dish was the oysters, especially one of the sauces they came with -- super tasty. I also had some pasta, but it was unfortunately flavorless. The thick noodles were memorable, but the sauce and mussels didn't add any real flavor to the dish. The large bone-in steak looked impressive, but once I tasted it, I found it dry and lacking flavor. It really needed some sort of sauce or seasoning to bring it to life. If you believe that a big chunk of meat on its own is worth the price, I'd argue otherwise -- without seasoning or sauce, this just isn't it. If you're not from a major culinary hub, this spot might feel special. But for those who are, the flavors really fall short. I did notice many positive reviews, which I assume are mostly from locals. On a positive note, I saw the head chef personally take an order for a guest, cook their meal, and even comp the bill -- that kind of service is impressive and deserves praise. That said, the food itself was disappointing.

Our favorites were: + Broiled oysters with bone marrow butter, Parmesan crema, and breadcrumb: although I'm not usually a huge fan of oysters, I did enjoy these particular ones! + Lemon cream pie with tangerine, lemon curd, brown butter graham, citrus marigold Chantilly: we split one slice of this pie, but I could've eaten a few more slices of the pie by myself (if my stomach had space left). Perfect ending to the meal. + Primavera panisse: crispy chickpea fritters topped with a variety of greens and flower petals. + Yuzu marigold kombucha (Wilder x Petite Percebes collaboration): this was a refreshing, lightly sweet complement to the heavier dishes of the meal. We also tried the cassoulet (which had roasted chicken thigh, Roundman's garlic sausage, pork belly, Heirloom beans - a heartier meaty dish); and the potato chowder with oyster mushrooms, spring greens, and wild nettle pistou (we loved the mushrooms in it). This spot is worth stopping by!

Inside was huge! Giant bar, tons of tables for dining, along with a stage where it looked like they hosted live music! We ordered our meals up at the front counter and took a seat in the dining area. I ordered a Golden State Mighty Dry cider and their grilled cheese sandwich with added caramelized onions and mushrooms. We were the only people inside, but food came out quick. Everyone was a huge fan of their meals. I loved my sandwich, the bread was absolutely delicious. Also was a huge fan of those mushrooms they used! We ended up leaving with a fresh baked loaf of bread when we left too for home. Service was great, food was on point, and loved the vibe they had going. Would love to come back to see some music one of these days.

I went hard on the appetizers- mussels steamer, calamari, and fresh oysters. All were fresh tasting and very well done. The oysters were sweet and a little larger, the calamari crisp, tender, and fully cooked. I liked the mussels, but they were a touch small and the sauce was actually great but there wasn't much. We closed out with the Caesar salad topped with the local rockfish done Cajun style, wow! We didn't want a bunch of extras and it let us try the grilled fish. Shockingly good salad (yes, rest of the US, you can do it!) and the fish was perfect. The view was spectacular, right out the harbor to the sea. The interior was huge. My only complaint was the person who took our reservation and then checked us in was abrupt and disinterested in customer service. Her manager seemed squarely on it and so set a great tone. Same with our server and the clean up team, superb service.

Enjoyed the rich & creamy tartar sauce - very nice. We also purchased clam chowder -- pretty nice, but small & chewy clam pieces. Another issue, at least for us, (my husband), was the difficulty in accessibility to the restroom-- for a handicapped person. There is a ramp, but it is on the opposite side of the restroom, AND midway at the side of the restaurant!! For someone who has EXTREME difficulties in walking...VERY DISAPPOINTED !!
