Awful Experience. Served spoiled dungeness crab! It was slimy and fishy, I almost vomited by the smell alone. We sent it back and had them remove it from our bill. The manager did not address it. NOT one person apologized. I have worked at a seafood restaurant and mistakes happen. Fish can easily be overcooked by sitting under warming lights too long. I also know food preparation is also be very subjective. This was not a disagreement about a burger or steak that was not cooked to my liking. This was CRAB which had gone bad and served anyway. Spoiled seafood/crab is NOT subjective, its dangerous and can cause food poisoning. Apologizing is restaurant 101. Avoid St. George at all costs! read more

Just want to share the great experience I had with my kids and their friends. Our waiter, Rudy, was so funny and attentive. He recommended a couple of items on the menu such as the cheesesteak egg rolls. They were the bomb. Our food came out piping hot and everything was delicious. My first question is: how do you get a clam out of a clam strip? Absolutely horrible meal. We ordered clam strips that tasted like fried rubber bands, a boiled burger, frozen fries, and crab imperial that tasted like a can of tuna baked in an old shoe. Oh and the soup of the day? Unsalted Wallpaper paste cream of mushroom that literally stood up in the bowl. If you want to be starving and throw away money, you should definitely dine here. read more

There are a few things that I eat here regularly that are really good: burgers, fries, chips, tuna melt. Other people I've been with have not enjoyed other items like chicken parm and other Italian entrees. But whenever I've ordered the basics they've been well prepared and fresh. The people here are incredibly friendly and accommodating which is a big deal for me. Not every restaurant makes the best of everything, but if the service is good, I can forgive average food. At any rate, if you want a burger, nachos, or something simple, this is probably the best place on the island. And everyone I have ever dealt with here, from bartenders to wait staff, have been great. On the down side, they aren't the best at takeout. I've ordered from here so many times and gone home with something that wasn't quite right. They left off the cheese on my burger, or forgot to swap chips for fries. It's frustrating to have to check every box every time. On the plus side, they are quick to correct mistakes or comp orders that are wrong even if I mention it days later. I haven't ordered cocktails at the bar so I can't speak to the quality, but the bartenders have always been attentive, friendly and quick to respond. Overall, if you want someplace to stop for a good burger, this place is a great choice. You'll feel like the people care about you and you'll get good food. If you want someplace to hang out and watch a game, or sit at the bar and get good service, this is a good place, too. If you order takeout, check it before you leave! read more

Wish I had read the reviews before we stopped. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, well done, with fries. The burger was a frozen patty, and when served still had pink in it. No bacon, and no waitress to flag down until half way through. The oil in the fryer was obviously not fresh as the fries were terrible. Wife ordered a chicken caesar wrap. It was okay, but wouldn't most restaurants put the dressing IN the sandwich and not on the side? The waitstaff was okay, but the whole set-up seems thrown together. read more

In case the owners are wanting to know why this restaurant lacks the business the others get, it is a simple answer. Was approached by a bartender/host that never smiled or made you feel welcome. It was a Sat morning and there was only one waitress that quickly checked with us and responded quickly to take or order. Four more groups of people came in right after us. The wait for the food was long considering the few tables already seated had been served. When the food came the eggs benedict was served with over cooked poached eggs and minimal hollandaise sauce and potatoes The piece of meat under the eggs was very small and the english muffin was barely toasted. Potatoes had the slight taste of the grill cleaner. After waiting at least 15 minutes to pay and get the check, we had watched the server busy running items and taking orders. She as well as another server/manager brought things to the booth next to us and never looked to see our plates at the end of the table. This has been our second but last visit as there are many better run restaurants in Brigantine to go to for breakfast or lunch, The 3 star rated experience is because I can't blame the waitress especially since when she brought the bill she apologized and thanked us for being patient. After a day of fishing, my cousin, myself, and my girlfriend wanted to grab something 'quick' to eat before the drive back to Philadelphia. We met up with some friends there as well. We got a table for 7 and the waitress got our drinks. She gave us a couple of 'minutes' to look over the menu. About 20 min pass by before she returned. I'm already annoyed at the service. The food was bad, and the entire group agreed. My girlfriend ordered the crab cakes which was pretty much tasteless. I ordered one of the recommended dish: the pulled pork sandwich. Dull. Dried. Tasteless. Overall pretty disappointing. We asked for our checks and again annoyed at the speed of service, pulled out my iPhone and timed how long it would take. It took 12 minutes to get our check. Never going back. Terrible service. Manager came out with tons of excuses. read more

My business partner and I are photographers; we did a few jobs down in the Brigantine and Atlantic City area this year. After "yelping" a bunch of local bars, I decided that we should check this place out. I am SO glad we did. Besides being a fabulous dive bar with delicious pub grub and yummy drinks, they also have a pool table and a jukebox. WIN! We have been here twice and our favorite menu items are: sliders with housemade potato chips, coconut shrimp, clam strips and creamy crab soup. They make a fabulous rum runner and mai-tai as well. I cannot wait to go back for some pub grub and a few games of pool! read more

I found myself at St. George's Pub once again a few Saturdays back. Who would have known that boyfriend and I would be living just down the street several months after my original review? Boyfriend was craving shepherd's pie, and despite my assuring him that I'd make it one night this week for dinner, he was just being incessant about it. St. George's was not our first choice, but Irish Pub in AC only serves shepherd's pie on Mondays, so down the street we went. We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, though not entirely adept at her job. Her Guinness pour was awful and my sweet tea vodka & water was mostly the latter. Boyfriend ordered the aforementioned shepherd's pie ($15.) I chose the lunch special chili, which came with a cup of the soup of the day. Luckily for boyfriend (not so much for me,) the soup that day was Manhattan Clam Chowder. The food took a bit to come out. I didn't mind, considering what we ordered, but I know some people get all in a tizzy if they can't stuff their faces in 10 minutes. When it did arrive, it was delicious. My chili was cheesey and gooey and tangy. I had never tasted shepherd's pie until that day, and after doing so, I could definitely see why my darling sweet boyfriend was being such a complete brat hounding me for it. Our waitress was very sweet, offered to wrap my leftovers without my having to ask, and was quick with our change. I still feel like St. George's is on the pricey side, and the atmosphere doesn't really incline me to want to spend ample amounts of time here. I REFUSE to buy from their packaged goods section, because I just can't justify spending $17 for a $10 bottle of wine. Still three stars for St. George's. read more

I loved St. George's. Dined here on a Monday evening after the herd went home for Memorial Day. Always a pleasure to see everyone leaving. St. George's has a nice feel to it. TV's are present, but aren't blaring in the background. Bathrooms were clean, and the service was attentive and friendly. Tried the crabcake sandwich, which was served with a FRESH roll and lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. I really enjoyed the crab, it was FRESH and delicious. Homemade chips were very good. I wouldn't hesitate to return here and I would get the same thing. read more

Not real crowded and not a ton of beers on tap for instance, but service was friendly and the food wasn't too bad. 2 sections, one more of a formal restaurant and one more of a bar. Had a lite dinner here tonight. Nothing much to say about the inside it appeared to be clean, the staff was prompt and attentive but really did not listen to our orders but that did not ruin our dinner. The food was good and above average. The menu is certainly varied with much to pick from. I have been coming to Brigantine for years and drive right by here every time to get to the house and I did not realize it was a restaurant I thought it was just a beer and alcohol package store but I was wrong and must say it adds to my choice when in Brigantine. The only real negative is the price of all menu items, I felt it to be really over priced so it won't be a regular choice but I will return here. read more

Visited this fantastic restaurant on a Friday night with my husband and daughter. We were staying in Wildwood and on the suggestion of my husband who knows the owner, we made reservations and ventured out. The staff was friendly and greeted us with a warm hello and seated us in the dining area. They also have a bar area with lots of TV's to watch the games. Our waiter was very attentive. We ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower on his suggestion and was quite honestly so delicious! A must if you are dining here. Our dinner was amazing, fresh caught Flounder with perfectly cooked linguine. The best Flounder I have ever eaten. We skipped dessert because we were all stuffed but I hear they have a mean carrot cake! If ever in the area you must try this Pub. It is way more than a Pub. Full menu open 24 hours all year long. We will definitely be back. 5 stars all around!! read more

Went here with a group of 9 for dinner. Throughout the meal, drink orders were filled very slowly - we actually had to remind the waitress once. The bar was empty, and the bartenders were standing around. The fries were good, especially dipped in ranch dressing. I got the Pub Salad minus the chicken, and it was pretty lame. Wayyyyyy too much cheese, mealy candied walnuts, and canned peaches. I mean, I was basically expecting that, but that didn't make it tasty. People seemed to like their food okay. Its the "Cheers" of Brigantine, been here 3 weeks and they "know" my name, what I like to eat. Wait staff is excellent. Great bar specials. Great for lunch and dinner, really have a good "gastro style pub". Try the fish dishes, and the wings are superb especially on wed and Sunday, the 40 wings special!!! Great place to hang on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night too.. All ages, castes, something for everyone as well as kid friendly as they have a separate dining area. Friday nights they have live music, and I hear there's great summer karaoke (can't wait to give that a try. I must say the on the down side, their breakfast left something to be desired. Didn't love it, I had eggs Benedict and had to send it back 2x and got told the holindase couldn't be served hot. Finally sent it back and told them I didn't want it. On our way out, we overheard another group complaining about a similar experience with the bartender. We came here twice since it opened with new ownership. Both those times were very average and overpriced and was for lunch/dinner. So, on a nice day we decided to have a late breakfast. Well, the egg, cheese, and pork roll sandwich were good but the full breakfast with pancakes, eggs, potatoes, and scrapple were sadly below average. Forgetting the waitress appeared to be a bit lost (but nice), the service slow, and overpriced it's the food we came for. Fried eggs over light were overcooked. The pancakes, a mix, were dry and I had to ask for butter. The home fries were some kind of frozen potatoes that were spiked with some peppers and onions in a feeble attempt I suppose at potatoes O'Brien. With Philly roots scrapple has to be right. It was pathetic. Incredibly thin overcooked and resembled black sandpaper. We want this place to succeed and be good. We want to come back but how many times can we try? If you cannot cook fried eggs and make home fries for breakfast the right way how can you ever be good let alone great. read more

This place used to be very enjoyable and looked forward to going whenever I was in Brigantine. Unfortunately, something changed and the atmosphere is different. I went in with two friends sat at one of the bar tables near the pool table at around 6 P.M. We sat and waited for someone to bring us menus for about 15 minutes. In that time, not one staff member acknowledged us. Not a bartender, not a waitress, no one. Keep in mind that it was not at all crowded. Not the best food in town for the price. Chicken Francaise was bland, fried seafood platter was over-fried, crab cake was mushy and the buffalo chicken flatbread was dried out and bland. The Italian dressing must have sugar in it because it was too sweet...not tangy like Italian dressing should be. The only good thing we ate was the crab soup and the rolls. I went here when I was visiting my family for New Years for Trivia Night. At first I was unsure what type of crowd to expect, but I was excited to see it was a mix of young and old. Our party was able to find a space to sit, and we had a blast playing the triva. The drink specials were good, especially for beer. Extremely rude manager! Ordered the grilled corn beef sandwich. Corn beef looked grayish/brown and I hesantly ate half. When I asked the waitress, who was nice, about the color and that it sort of smelled like old lunch meat, she took my plate and talked to the manager. She said that they dip the corn beef in juice to keep from drying out and that's why it's that color. That just made no sense to me. A patron near me ordered the corn beef and cabbage dinner and that corn beef looked normal. When I asked the manager again she said they were the same piece of meat and I disagreed. She rudely said, under her breath, you ate half your sandwich than she proceeded to take my meal. The waitress came back with the check and said my sandwich was taken off the bill and gave me back my bag with just the fries. I am assuming the manager threw out my remaining half of the sandwich. I explained I was not looking for a free meal but just felt that the corn beef tasted and looked old. I gave her the bag of fries to give back to her rude manager. I truly believe that they made my grilled Ruben with old corn beef and was serving the fresh corn beef with the dinner entrée special. Very disappointed as I have eatened there numerous times with no complaints. This manager obviously was not properly trained or the establishment just doesn't care. I would highly advise not ordering the grilled Ruben sandwich and stick with something safe like the wings or pizza. read more

We have visited twice. The first time service was friendly and attentive. The second time service was awful. Our waitress was rather unpleasant and did not take our order until we had been seated for 50 minutes (granted, we did order appetizers before this) and then another 40 minutes until our entrees were served. Once we were served they had forgotten several items (apple sauce with kids' meal, cocktail/tartar sauce with entree, cup of soup). Soup came out luke warm and food is overall average at best. Some items, like the shepard's pie and grilled shrimp, were good but most items were just okay. They also overcharged us on the check and added more than the 18% gratuity we were to be charged for a large party. Would not return. read more

My boyfriend and I are from out of town, we stopped by late Friday night hoping to get something to eat, but unfortunately the kitchen had already closed, which was fine. We both work in the industry, we understood. We stayed for a beer anyway. It looked like a cool place, a lot of regulars. There was a male & a female bartender. The female walked past us a few times, but they seemed busy, we didn't think anything of it. The male bartender did come over after a few minutes and got us our drinks. The female mentioned to a regular next to us that she was super tired and only had 55 minutes left in her shift. My boyfriend was looking for a second drink and he tried numerous times to get the females attention. She approached the regulars around us and some of them twice. We started to feel as if she was avoiding us and even avoiding eye contact. So we left and most likely we won't be back. Working in the industry, I know regulars certainly help a business but staff should be welcoming to new customers as well. Oh, and the worst part was, we looked over our shoulders after taking 5 steps away from our seats, and she was already grabbing our empty glasses! At that point it was clear she was only concerned with getting out of there, so it made sense she didn't want to refill our drinks. read more
