We were only here for a drink while we waited our turn to get in to Osteen's next door. Bartender poured our drinks while holding the microphone and belting out karaoke. A bit smoky but worth it. This place is awesome. read more

August 2015. It seems that every time I have tried to revisit the British Pub it gets worse. Last time topped them all. 1st Buyer Beware! If the bartender isn't singing or taking care of friends u just might get a drink...you'll have to beg for it. When u pay, b sure to count your money and know your tab. The prices change ..a lot. And the bartender feels he's entitled to take his own tip! But if u want to Kareoke...Uh u might have to wait 2.5 hours and give up like I did. ASSHOLE PLACE. It's not a business, it's someone's home who is particular about the guest. Don't get trapped. read more

If we had only gone Thursday night, my review would have been different. My husband and I were in St Augustine for a mini get-away. We enjoy karaoke, and we found this place. Our experience Thursday night, April 16, was great! The lady who ran the karaoke was very friendly, and she ran a fair rotation of the singers. We stayed until closing and left with a favorable impression. The next night, we went to see a band for a couple of hours, and then we left early just so we could do some more karaoke. Big mistake! We should have just stayed and watched the band all night. We came in and saw a different KJ. This time it was an older blonde woman with a horrible attitude. I put a couple of songs up for us, and after quite a while, I asked her about how many singers there were. She was irritated that I had the nerve to check on that. We noticed she kept putting up two men repeatedly: one's name was Cory, and I'm not sure who the other one was, but we'd see them over and over and over. Obviously her close friends. My husband finally got fed up. He went and asked her about the repeats, and she denied doing it. We went to pay our tab and leave. The bartender told us that we were not the first to complain about that particular KJ, and he recommended we call the next day to speak to the owners about it. My husband called the next day and was told no owners were around after all. The woman he spoke to took a message, and that was the last we heard. So if you come into this place expecting to sing, make sure that miserable blonde woman isn't behind the sound equipment, because she plays favorites big-time! Update: the owner contacted me and told me they'd had repeated problems with that karaoke lady and had terminated her employment. Based on that, I am upping their rating to what it should have been with the good karaoke lady we enjoyed the first night. read more

Located right on A1A just a short drive over the Bridge of Lions, the British Pub is a fun little joint with plenty of parking. There is a HUGE lot right next door, and I had NO problem finding a place to park. Stopped in here on a Saturday night while karaoke was taking place, and had a pretty fun time! It's not a huge joint, but pretty good size, plenty of room to hang with your friends and meet some new people. The bar itself has about 10 stools, and there is about 8 tables spread out throughout the bar. In the back, there is an incredibly comfortable couch, and a few more tables, although those were cleared out to make room for the karaoke equipment. Soccer jerseys lined the walls, and there were a few flat screen TVs showing some sporting events, and some showing the lyrics for your karaoke song. Got in on a Saturday night, and the place was pretty full, but I was still able to find a place to sit and have a few pints. Had a chance to talk with the owner (who of course is British), and he is a class act. Lot of fun to talk to, great guy, and he runs a great place. As I looked around, I noticed everybody was having a great time, it's a great atmosphere, everybody is relaxed, having fun, and enjoying some pints. I'm not sure what nights they have karaoke, but they have a TON of songs on there, and it was pretty fun. The music doesn't drown out everything else in the bar, like other karaoke places I've been to, but it's loud enough for everyone to sing along / make fun of you if you suck. Overall, I had a great time here. There's nothing overly amazing that could make me rate this higher, it's just a nice pub, with a great atmosphere, that you would enjoy. I'm not sure if I could spend an entire evening here getting smashed, but it's definitely worth a stop in sometime. You could have one or two beers on your way to your favorite joint, or just stop in sometime for a pint or two to relax. I had fun and will definitely be back. read more

awesome place, from the beer to the darts and karaoke. The bartender was very nice however its sort of hard to breathe in the pub. I am a smoker and have been to plenty of bars that allow you to smoke but it seems this bar is lacking proper ventilation. but besides that it was awesome and def worth checking out. read more

The Pub has had it's ups and downs over the years (mostly ups), but tonight was a peculiar incident. I ordered a Guinness and it was obvious the Bartender had no clue how a pint of Guinness should be properly poured. I tried to tell the person how it should be done, but the big attitude I got back was that I was an intrusive old codger who should mind his own business. read more

This is a great place just to go relax and be around like minded fun oriented people such as our selves. The staff was AWESOME and super friendly. I don't like a stuffed shirt kinda place. We are working class people who want a great time for the money... And this is it. The karaoke system was great with super sound and up to date material. We will be making this our days off hang out. Used to be my favorite bar to go to. The bartenders are fine but the bartender who is now in charge of karaoke and music is an asshole. He should just stick to bartending. It's a shame. None of my friends will go there now. Expect to listen to only a select few sing over and over again.If you aren't his friend or his whore you're constantly moved to the bottom of the list. I put in my song before 5 different people who sang before me even got to the bar. It was ridiculous and very rude. Took me two hours. read more

I'm a local and I have to say that since the pub came under new ownership a little over a year ago, it's been an absolute pleasure to spend the evening there. The new owners, Jimmi and Wendy, have put so much work into the place. They have refined the inside decor to represent the pubs British roots, and they added a back patio area that is so comfy and cozy. They have a fire pit in the winter, complete with marshmallows to toast, and in the summer there is a little fountain that is so soothing. They have added to their collection of beers and wines, and even though they do not have a full bar, they do have some other drinks that can be made. Also, they now serve some traditional pub snacks, including fish and chips. They have an EXTENSIVE, high tech karaoke system, and many TV screens that you can use to sing along, or have tuned to your favorite sports networks or even TV shows. In fact, they have Walking Dead viewings on Sunday nights, when the show airs. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Aaron, one of the bartenders, is funny and always making sure your glass is full and that you are having a great time. Cody, Chris, Heather, and Syreeta are excellent as well! They keep you entertained and it seems like everyone there has an amazing singing voice! The pub also tries to accommodate birthday parties and other events, if you make arrangements with the owners, and they usually have holiday parties. Also, they do have live bands on occasion! If you are visiting St. Augustine and are looking for a good pub to visit, definitely go to the British Pub on A1A, right over the bridge of lions. read more

Shalom to y'all Karaoke junkies my name is DR. Z. Last night when I arrived in St. Augustine from Charlotte, N. C. I was happily surprised to surf the net and find a Karaoke joint hosting Karaoke on a Sunday night. What I found was one of the most beautiful and friendliest Karaoke locations in the South East United States. The food was better than average and the kitchen stayed open late. I ordered Traditional British fare, fish and chips at 1 am and the fish was awesomely good and pipen hot with a good amount of fries. The table service was good and prompt through out the night. The other three things that were very memorable was the superb Karaoke stage lighting and sound system was the finest pub set up I had ever seen. It made me feel good to step up and sing a few songs. What a blast I had. Secondly the DJ was very accommodating, he found every song I requested. Lastly the other singers and patrons were happy and friendly. I definitely will be coming back every time I am anywhere near St. Augustine since they Karaoke seven nights a week. It truly was really a great find. Shalom y'all. Until next time.
