I had one of the most unpleasant and unnerving experiences yesterday at The Pub. I enjoy visiting FLL and invariably stay in Wilton Manors when I come down. The Pub is conveniently located, and I have been a customer for years; this past Monday, I enjoyed their half-priced hamburger special, which I've had before. I hadn't planned on going there later that afternoon for happy hour, but the friend I was meeting smokes and suggested we go there as he could sit outside and have his wine and cigarette. After having had two drinks, I decided to order the fried shrimp to go; It was delicious, and two days later, I thought I would like to order it again before heading back to NYC the following morning. So last night around 6:00 I ordered a drink, sat outside minding my own business, and soon enough placed my order for the shrimp. It arrived, and I was enjoying the gentle breeze and sunshine so much that I thought I might have another glass of wine. The server brought it, and I was going to have my second drink and leave, along with my takeout. Sounds idyllic, right? Well, almost as soon as I was served the glass of wine, a menacing, hulking person whom I had never seen before appeared, and said, "Here's a to-go cup. Just make sure the cops don't see you; you can always toss it if you think they see you." First of all, why was this person bringing me a to-go cup? I was not creating any kind of spectacle or scene. I was a sixty-year-old gentleman just sitting there, not bothering anyone, and then to be rudely and brazenly in so many words asked to leave the premises? I can't seem to wrap my head around this person's way of thinking. In any case, it was a very unsettling evening, but as I was leaving, the chef appeared. I told her of the incredible wrongdoing that had just occurred, and she seemed sympathetic and said she hoped I would return. I will never patronize The Pub again while that person (who was he anyway, the manager?) is working there. If I had been in the wrong, that would be one thing. But to tell a repeat customer, who was exhibiting polite and model behavior, to leave for no apparent reason boggles my mind. If the management of The Pub would like to offer me an explanation as to why this incident occurred, I will be amenable to altering this review. The above-mentioned individual's behavior was atrocious and beyond rude. read more

Very disappointed in a "straight" bartender. Totally favored his straight female friends over me and other gay male patrons. Before anyone gets frustrated over my review, my point is that you should not discriminate over anyone coming to the bar - gay, straight, trans, etc. He was clearly favoring the straight female crowd which frustrated me. Even if you are straight, give me the same attention you give anyone else in the bar. read more

Under new ownership, this tired pub has been resurrected as a sleek, fun neighborhood bar. While the music plays at a constant pace, it is never at a level where conversation is impeded. This is the place to be on a holiday weekend. I dropped by on Thanksgiving weekend, about the only place open for breakfast, had eggs and bacon, delicious. I came back that Thursday night, they had a full TG buffet dinner to raise funds for a non-profit. This is what the holidays are all about, giving back to the community! Last Friday we decided to try the newly remodeled Pub in Wilton Manors. We were amazed with the big difference the renovations made. What was once a run of the mill bar is now an upscale Pub. They offer a full bar with an extensive beer and wine selection and a new and much improved menu options. We ordered the French Onion Soup which was perfectly seasoned and had more cheese than usual! We then ordered the Chips and Guacamole, the Guacamole was delicious and had just the right kick to it. We then shared the Michael's Nachos; which were delicious the chicken on them was cooked to perfection, the Pretzel Bites with beer cheese, Stuffed Potato Skins, Shrimp Cocktail and the Fried Calamari. The Pub Wilton Manors is a real hit and we will DEFINITELY become regulars! Keep up the great job. read more

Went there for some drinks and dinner. They still have good chicken wings with great blue cheese dressing. The celery sticks were soft and rotting. Waiter checked in the kitchen and they admitted that's all they had. The Cobb salad was tasty. The waiter was helpful but haphazard. It's a bar serving bar food. read more

Went for Sunday brunch at 11am and they don't serve pancakes and were out of waffles. Hash browns were over-salted and they came with a ton of red peppers. Mimosa was made with a clear liquid that resembled watered down orange Juice. read more

The bar tenders and servers are very good. The Owners/Management need to address the horrible sewage smell at the bar. This has been going on for years and they seem not to care. I don't eat there because the sewage smell is soooo bad. As much as I like the staff, I am ready for a bar to relax without sewage smell. Maybe the Health Department needs to get involved. The Pub - Bar area - Gay Bars Near Me - Wilton Manors, Florida

I went here in Halloween and the layout was incredible. The bar is huge and the drag show was pretty entertaining. The only issue I had was with the bathroom attendant. Bathroom attendant started arguing with me because I made the line for the men's room. Plenty of guys were going in the women's room. This is Wilton Manors! We don't have gender neutral bathroom here yet? I was pretty shocked and based on that treatment, I don't think I will return. read more

I came here go celebrate my friend's birthday... she happened to be the entertainment proving live jazz/gospel music. Great vibe, nice crowd ...extraordinary gator bites ! Had them plain with a choice of 2 sauces.. cajun tartar and thai sweet chili sauce ... can't decide which is my favorite because both are delicious. The gator bites plain stand in their own ... tender and moist. Full bar. The menu otherwise is sandwiches and wraps plus an every day breakfast menu. A few weeks ago a group of us were in Wilton Manors on a Friday night doing the usual Wilton Manors "crawl", visiting a few different bars along Wilton Drive. When we got close to this pub, we saw that it was absolutely packed with patrons. In fact, there were so many people that they actually filled the sidewalk in front of this place. I thought it must've been their grand opening or that they were giving away free drinks or something, judging from the crowd here vs. most of the other bars along the strip which were relatively quiet by comparison. Fast forward to this past weekend - I met up with a friend on Saturday night for dinner and we decided to try this place afterward. While I don't recall what businesses were in the 3 or 4 storefronts now occupied by Village Pub, one can tell that the owners of this place (supposedly the former owners of Georgie's Alibi across the street) took multiple storefronts in this building, removed the walls that separated them and removed a few of the large display windows, installing roll up doors in their place. While they have a lot of tables and stools near the entrance, which made it look like this bar must be packed, once we worked our way past them, we found that it wasn't actually very full inside at all. When you enter, there is a large, full bar to the right which is adorned with banners and signage for UM, Dolphins, Marlins and Heat. On the left, there is another large, full bar. Both bars have several screens on the wall behind them for watching sports or other programming. In the large open space between those 2 bars you'll find a pool table and a dance floor. They offer valet parking around back for $5, but if you present your parking stub at the bar they'll give you a free draft beer or well drink, which offsets the cost of valet. They have complimentary WiFi here, but it should be noted that they do not have any food offerings. My overall rating of this pub for now is just "A-OK" as 3 stars on Yelp signifies. This place is very busy, but it's also very new (In fact, the official grand opening hasn't even happened yet). While other bars such as The Manor and Alibi have different spaces or rooms offering different themes, the Village Pub is one large and open floor plan. Where those 2 other bars and places like Bills feel more "cozy" to me and make me want to sit at their bar and have a drink, Village Pub is so large and open inside that it doesn't quite have that same kind of intimate feel to it. Also, with the dance floor being in the middle of the room and the 2 bars in that same open space, there doesn't appear to be anywhere to get away from the music if you just want to have a beer and talk with someone. Beers on this Saturday night were $4.50 each, when many other bars on "the Drive" were running 2 for 1 or other drink specials. As others have said, time will tell what clientele will congregate here or how popular it will be in the long term. I'll update my review once it's been open for a few months and has been in regular operation for a while. read more

After dinner, my friend and I where trying to find a hot bar to get a cold drink and we stumbled in here and it was packed left and right, front to back with guyz.. And best of all, they were playing 70's hits and I was in LOVE LOVE LOVE. And to make it even better, they had moscow mules and the real ones in the real mugs.. kudos to them! The music was loud but not over powering so my friend and I were able to talk which was cool. It is not a huge place but it does have two bars, a dance floor and even a stage... where men are actually allowed to get on it (not like the straight bars, prudes) However, at one point at about 7 p.m. everyone was gone and to later find out they went to a bar across the street.. and of course after we finished, we followed suit! I dug this place a lot for a Sunday night and to be so busy at 6 p.m. I would go back. read more

The Pub has a great atmosphere, a bar like Cheers where everyone knows your name. The Pub provides entertainment nightly as well as very good drink specials 2-4-1 everyday until a certain time. I consider myself a regular and I brought my friend's in from out of town in on a Thursday it was a very busy night and unfortunately my server was not the friendliest he wasn't very attentive. I asked for the manager who came over right away and introduced himself as George and he was very polite attentive and truly understood my complaint and he resurrected the situation immediately. I noticed George constantly walking around the restaurant and talking to customer's he was very hands on and I think more restaurants on the drive need to be more attentive and know what is going on in their establishment. Gregg and Mark (and the other owners) did it right, unlike that bar across the street that refuses to update or change ...but let's not go there right now... Pros: This place is packed on weekends, has a tiny dancefloor , fantastic music videos and decent drinks at a decent price. The staff is friendly and both bathrooms are attended and (relatively) clean.I hope this place is around for a long time and doesn't make the same mistakes the other bars are making on the drive. Cons: can't really think of any Comment: The pool table takes up a ton of floor space. When this tiny bar is packed no one can play pool anyway, so I'm not really convinced that having a pool table is a major or necessary draw for this place. Maybe they should consider removing it. read more

Today I was with a friend after the gym hungry and anticipating his procedure. We were both anxious. Devin has waited on me with other friends and the service has been stellar. I was so happy he was working and we were at his station. The drink service and ordering of our lunch was that of a high end restaurant. He was very attentive to our needs. This man is a tremendous ambassador for the Pub. He checked in regularly and made sure we had what we needed. He was intuitive to the stress of the situation and provided a calming and relaxing atmosphere. My friend had his procedure while I had another cocktail while waiting. There are not many men like Devin in our community. Guys like this distinguish where they work and our community. Thank you Devin. You will always be my go to server and friend. Decided to give the new chef a try for brunch this morning. They need to fix the ordering process. The bartender cannot and will not take a food order. He says he'll get someone to take our order, but we asked twice before he came over. The drinks and the food had to be on separate tabs. Makes no sense since the computer system should be capable of separating the items after the fact. I had two eggs over medium, done perfectly. Bacon was over cooked, dry and burnt. I had NO toast and NO potatoes. $7!!! At courtyard cafe 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, potatoes, bacon, etc. is $7.25. Not sure I will be back for breakfast anytime soon. read more

As one of many stops on a night out celebrating a friend's birthday, this place earned points for decent drinks, good music, a dance floor and a reasonable accommodation for the smokers in the party (with a patio-ish space on the front). It lost points, however, for how poorly the A/C was performing (admittedly a sure sign of this reviewer having crossed into his early 40s). I'd have enjoyed my evening more if I hadn't felt the need to stop dancing after only a couple of songs -- and yes, the fit-and-trim among us felt the same way, quickly pursuing water instead of cocktails to compensate for the heat. But, it was crowded, and had we adopted a "stand-and-watch" approach, we surely would have lasted longer. It'll be worth another look-see on a future visit. read more

They have done a nice job with renovations. But clearly all the new bartenders are scared about overpouring. It's well known they fired a very popular female bartender here when new owners took over and that was their justification. I'm fine with that. But not paying 8.50 for a one ounce pour. Also they still let people smoke on the front patio area and pull sliding doors wide open so entire bar reeks of smoke No thanks. read more

Had just disembarked from a seven day cruise and had several hours to kill before heading to the airport. Hit upon The Pub as it was the only place open for breakfast and we ended up thrilled! Spoke with the owner and the chef. Everyone was wonderfully nice and the food delicious. An absolutely wonderful experience. I've been eating at Pub Grub since they opened. Everything I've had so far was Fantastic. Great flavor and cook just right. The chips and guacamole is delish- a great bite and I've had it a few times and very consistent. The foot long all beef dog- my favorite I had the Clam chowder- the best ever The pub burger and fries- yummy The chicken fingers crispy and great taste I'd recommend the food- you have light bites and dinners and Fabulous Martinis!!!! Have previously found the Pub a great locals bar with decent drinks at reasonable prices. I don't know what is happening but I had a very disappointing experience recently. Only a dozen people at the bar and the bartender took care of all his regulars before asking me what I wanted. I got a bloody mary and ordered the spicy calamari (which I've enjoyed before). The bloody mary was just tomato juice a lime and lemon wedge as well as a celery stick. No flavor or spice at all. There was soooo... much ice that it dripped all over the place. When presented with my drink the bartender said "3 dollars" and walked away. As for the calamari, the portion was noticeably smaller. There was no spiciness at all and there was so much garlic, it was all I tasted for the rest of the night. The calamari was so overcooked that it was like eating rubber bands. I couldn't finish it. I don't know what has happened here. I had high hopes when the new owners took it over, unfortunately they started well but I have seen a steady decline. There's too much competition to allow this to happen. Not sure I'll be returning. read more

Visited for a few days from out of town. Was a good time. We loved Felix! We closed the place down on Pride Sunday and he was fun and engaging the whole time. He tolerated the out of control queens (no, not us) well too. Convenient location right on the drive. Good times!! read more
