Fried calamari
Jerry C.

Eight of us showed up for Friday happy hour. The three bar areas were seriously packed! You had to squeeze through the crowd. Although our group is mostly in the 50-65 range, we felt like spring chickens. The bar successfully caters to senior citizen gay gentlemen, and now we know where they all go. The main dining room decor is still too grandma pastel and fake Greek column ambiance for my taste. The other two cocktail and cabaret areas have a more swanky vibe with red velvet drapes. We came here for dinner awhile ago after their reopening. The food was ok and reminded me of Chef Nate's across the street, although the entrees tasted better at Chef Nate's (he used to be chef at the older Tropics). Yesterday four of us came for singer Ralph Meitzler (who is actually a professional theater performer and bartender) and accompanist Christopher Hamblin. We had several rounds of cocktails which were well made. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We selected several appetizers on the menu but the kitchen was out of them. On a Tuesday? We ended up with the Buffalo chicken wings (standard pub fare), salad (same), egg rolls (very good, and not Asian as you'd think), and fried calamari (not good, not crispy, kind of soggy). No problems with the cabaret, and I'd say probably one of the best singer and pianist combo of entertainers I've heard in the gayborhood. Both have fun personalities and kept the pop and Broadway standards (old and new) show going. We thought we'd stay an hour, and we enjoyed it so much we stayed the whole 2+ hours. Five star entertainment, three star food.

Extremely slow service on a slow night. Salad had wilted lettuce, french fries were reheated/double fried. For the price I expected much better. Decor was okay and live music gave good ambience. I wouldn't return here again or recommend.

Not obviously place to have an amazing launch, and feel silence and comfortable time. Service are always a high class. Atmosphere is very save and have a little NY vibe.

The food sucks and is overpriced. Stick with the burger which is just ok. Drinks and entertainment are fabulous!!

It was not great, but the people there are incredible. They comped our meals. It was still a very enjoyable night.

Camp is one thing- bad food is also what you get. The Chicken Piccata was tough, and the sauce was gloopy and tased as out of a jar. YUK

And the shrimp salad, finishing with the bread pudding, which also had come recommended. Service - top-notch. Carol took care of us (a party of 3) from start to finish, with great wine recommendations. Ambiance - fantastic. Warm and inviting. We took a high-top towards the back. But also offered was a large bar, as well as cozy living room style seating, and 2 and 4 tops tables outside. They have a good amount of seating both inside and out, but it was pretty busy inside when we showed up. Service was very friendly the entire night and our food didn't take long to come out. I shared the turkey meatballs and jalapeño corn muffins. The meatballs were just okay; I should've realized when it said "contains nuts," that it would be a plant-based meatball. But I thought it was just a turkey meatball, so that was a little disappointing. I should've asked about it before ordering. However, the corn muffins were delicious and the perfect small fish for both savory and sweet. Overall, a nice visit to this local spot.

The lighting is dim and the sofas are beautiful. There is a red piano on the other side that just looks so regal. We sat at the bar and were quickly taken care of. They have a great variety of cocktails to choose from and some bites as well if you're feeling hungry. I went with the red eye espresso martini and it was amazing. It tasted like chocolate! The combo of Licor 43 and espresso is delish! Highly recommend. It was a Sunday night so there wasn't too many people, but the bartender did tell us they play live music on Fridays and Saturdays and that is when there is a bigger crowd. We will be going back soon!

We went up to the rooftop and were able to order some drinks at the bar. The place has very cute decor and multiple different seating areas. We were very happy with the DJ. Needless to say it was a fun spot that we decided to come by twice! The bartender was a dream. He was very attentive and remembered our drinks. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area.

Potato street hash was amazingly good, and flavored with a great combo of spices and unusual veggies. To test out the basic diner aspect we also got a BLT which was also very good. The only minor hiccups food wise were no coffee for brunch and no bread other than sourdough for the sandwich 4 star service: service was good and friendly. There was only one staffer on duty for the bar and all tables. Even though it was fairly empty, he seemed stretched a little thinly. 5 star ambience: the old one story Thai place that previously occupied the space has been replaced by a second story addition. The interior has been completely reworked and feels modern and slick. Upstairs an outdoor seating area is open to Wilton Drive below.
