Double sized - Lychee margarita, Mango and guava margarita, Sangria
    Vasudha R.

The bar in Public Market has a large variety of drinks, and they're so delicious! The bartender has great vibes and he made a custom margarita for me. I would recommend the mango and guava margarita. You can make your drink into a double (which is the size in the photo) to have an extra fun night. The lychee martini is slightly sweet, but still good, and the sangria is also tasty. This is a sports bar and they play a lot of games on the TV. The bar is smack in the middle the food court, so it's not great for a romantic date spot, but it's a relaxing place to hang out with friends. I would recommend it for a casual night out.

I was pleasantly surprised to see The Public Bar in the Public Market, especially since Public Market isn't fully occupied yet. There are a couple of TVs here, and even food menus! I didn't get the chance to order any food, but the option of being able to get other food from the other counters and plop yourself down for a beer, wine, or cocktail is an awesome and efficient use for this space. My partner and I happened to grab a late lunch, and once it extended into the happy hour time (3-6 pm, 9-close), we decided to grab some drinks. Plus, seeing the slushy machines... I'm a sucker for an alcoholic slushy drink! The bartender was awesome, he was manning the bar alone and was very kind to check on the various patrons on how the drinks were and if they wanted a (2nd, 3rd, ...etc) round. Plus $6 for select cocktails?! SUCH A STEAL. Drinks were strong and kinda fruity, and I'm super glad this place is here! And as always, don't drink and drive!

I'm ecstatic about this new bar at the Public Market. I work within walking distance so I frequent the market from time to time (like once a month, let's be real- prices in there are high as giraffe ass). I digress, this bar is what's been missing from the market all along and I never even knew! Nothing gets me in the mood of buying overpriced eats more than a little libation! Plus, I'm a sucker for a classy bar, and this place is just that! They've got an awesome Malbec and decent wine list to boot. The open air feel of the Market means the bar is quite inviting and accessible. The bartender matches the easy- going feel of it all and sports highlights are playing low enough to enjoy the ambient music. You can have your cocktail along with whatever you pick for lunch and enjoy the swankiest lunch break yet, I cannot wait to end my day here with friends at the happy hour soon!

    Double Jameson frozen margarita

Needed to cool down on a hot day, and realized I never reviewed one of my favorite local bars - what better time than now to tell all of you they're open for everything to-go and just as good as ever! I've been going here since they opened (a few years ago???), because of the quality, selection, and amazing service and knowledge from the bartenders. They have beer, wine, liquor, specialty drinks you won't find elsewhere, and a bottled beer cooler to browse and take. The lychee blush is popular and unique but what are my favorites: Taylor makes some of the best negronis and gin martinis I've ever had. Tyler just made me a delish Jameson frozen margarita to cool off with. If you don't know what you want, tell them what you like and they'll help you figure it out. Tip: Get a double in your cocktail for a discount. Order food from one of the places in the Market, and while you wait, stop by for a to-go drink. Food and drink can be enjoyed at a handful of seating areas outside the market, a few are obvious and streetside, but if you need cooler air ask where the "courtyard" is for more seating!

    Lychee passion fruit slushy

Came by public bar for an afternoon cocktail. I needed a drink to go with my yummy wings from koja kitchen. I ordered the lychee passoinfruit slushy. It was a bit sweet but was still really good. The bartender was friendly. I'll need to try a guava margaritas next time I come by.

There were cozy seating options but since it was fairly packed, we sat at the bar. Loved to see such a big turnout but this place feels like it only has space for ~20 people comfortably. We got the popcorn and I tried out some of the wine tasting on the wall. They give you a tap card so you can control how many tastes you want. They offer 1 oz, half glass, or full glass pours for each of the wine on tap. The wine on tap is mostly their wine pairings for the month. I love the concept and definitely tried a couple wines to decide which book I should read! Overall pretty cozy and intimate. The book selection is pretty small and curated. The shelves are tall and they have the moving ladder! Very beauty and the beast library-like! Would be good to come with one other person or solo to have some cozy reading time. I could only imagine this place would be a dream for a small book club! I know they have a couple events like that every month and would love to come check one out someday.

It tasted very vodka-forward, and I was expecting a smoother balance with more coffee flavor. Definitely not my favorite drink of the night, so I probably wouldn't order it again. If you don't care to read the story about my drama, just know that everyone who works there, from the bartenders to the security guards to possibly the manager and owner (not sure, I didn't ask who they were, sorry!) were so sweet and kind and helpful to me when they really didn't have to be, and I am forever grateful!!! I won't include the full story that I subjected them all to when I came in, but, essentially, some horrid drama with my friends happened one night out at Tap that was partially witnessed by a security guard. I am insane and decided to do some investigating and try to talk to this security guard to hear the full truth, so I went in the next day early and talked to the sweetest bartender (Allison, I think) who listened to my whole story and texted the security guard for me to get more details! Such a girl's girl. I then came in again the next day (insane, I told you) and literally talked to a circle of people (including Andre? the security guard - sorry if that's not how you spell it) about the whole story again. They were all so kind and helpful and apologetic and both helped with my insane investigation and also made me feel better about the whole situation! And then the next week, I came in with (other) friends, and a lovely man who I believe is the manager recognized me and gave me a drink on the house! So nice I nearly cried. Love you all very much. I don't want to subject them to more harassment by insane college girls trying to conduct investigations into their situationship's behavior, but just know if you ever truly need to lol, go in before 9pm and you will meet the loveliest people very invested in your drama.

The next day I get a notification that my transaction was UPDATED and $4 more was added. I called and asked to speak to a manager, of course one wasn't available. The bartender said he was the one working that night, but suddenly he "doesn't handle transactions". He said a manager would call me back and nobody ever did. So now I'm returning in person because that charge was NOT authorized. I don't care how little the amount is. You do NOT add money to someone's card without their permission. That is wrong and shady. If you come here, WATCH YOUR BANK STATEMENTS and KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS because clearly they feel comfortable adding extra charges after you leave.
