The walk through that you mentioned never happened. You have never been on site since the project started. Miguel was here one day with a helper and the next visit helper only who damaged $800.00 worth of parts that you expect me to pay for. We have paid you $1552.27 and we are disputing the poor labor and damaged parts. For that you offered a discount of $100.00. As far as we know there was no walk through with us at any time. We ran into some hiccups along the way, but Rian is hardworking and trustworthy. I can't express enough how important it is to find someone you can trust and deliver on what was promised. The peace of mind on finding someone you can trust cannot be overstated. We hired Rian to center our fireplace, and to convert it from gas to electric. Our original gas fireplace was off to one side and a built-in on the other side (see pics). His quote was very competitive, but keep in mind that it does not include the actual drywall patching, so we had to find a separate drywaller on our own. He did subcontract out the electricians and that is broken out in his quote. The cost of pulling a city permit also seemed high at first, but after going through the process, we came to understand its importance and saw how much of Rian's time it ended up consuming. Rian is young, but open-minded, hardworking, and willing to own up to mistakes. We did run into some issues, but the end result speaks for itself. We love our new living room and fireplace, and it's completely transformed our space. read more

Working with Rian was fantastic. I'm in the middle of a huge remodel and he fit right into the construction - was flexible with our schedule and my contractor was impressed with his work. I asked a ton of questions because I wanted to understand the size of the fireplace relative to my desired TV height and mantel size. He broke down multiple direct vent fireplace brands, their heat management requirements and specified the minimum distance between the TV and the fireplace for a bunch of different scenarios. He then made very clear recommendations based on his experience. It was extremely helpful! The other places I received quotes from wouldn't engage in that way and kept saying "it's fine. I moved into a new home with multiple fireplaces installed. All of them had gas igniter logs but with gas log wood sets incorrectly installed. The previous owner didn't have any burners. I had a professional fireplace inspection done and that person cited a bunch of issues. I spoke with several fireplace specialists and they all tried to drastically over bid me, including implying that one fireplace required a complete tear down and rebuild. These estimates were between 35-50K. PM me if you want to know who the crooks are. They all played heavily on fear tactics and the threat of my home burning down. I am so thankful I found Rian. He came out right away and took a look at everything. Right away I felt a sense of honesty - he didn't try to upsell me on anything and was adamant that my fireplaces were in great shape and looked hardly used. He took a glance at my expensive inspection report and pointed out multiple issues with it, but he did so in a way that had me truly believing that he was being honest and not trying to downplay a competitor or ignore a safety issue. For 6,500~ Rian cleaned all 4 of my fireplaces and installed the proper gas log + burner sets with remote ignition modules. I've had a couple of minor issues since then and Rian was always willing to come out and make it right, even if it took a little while to line that up. We bought a house in Long Beach in May 2019 that had a wood burning fireplace insert. It also had an overwhelming brick exterior that took up a lot of space. We spent a month+ trying to find someone who would reasonably demo the brick and re-do it for us, with no luck. We demo'd the brick and hearth ourselves, but needed someone else to clean the firebox, repaint it, install a gas log set, and re-do all of the drywall. We were lucky enough to get in touch with Rian (aka Andrew). He was prompt in coming over for an estimate and was extremely reasonable with the amount of work that needed to be done (under $1K). He also helped us get a discount on the gas log set we liked and the new fireplace doors (still on order / to be installed at the end of the month). Overall, Rian is one of the best people I have ever worked with for any repairs or remodels. My husband and I had a few problems along the way (like a chimney roof leak) and a lot of questions about how to do things. Rian suggested repair people, answered my questions via email promptly, and really kept in touch in what is his busiest season during the winter. The home that we own had an all-original 1972 gas fireplace that was old, rusty, and just plain ugly. We wanted to upgrade to something more modern and just plain nicer looking.
