Solid diner. We come here after church on Sundays and always have a good meal. I usually order a cheese omelette. The coffee and omelette are typical for diners but done right. No disappointments. I've also had the pastrami Rueben and loved it. They used plenty of Russian dressing, lots of pastrami and a good encasement of cheese. The service is contingent on the server. My favorite is a male waiter who is very attentive. The owner is very kind and knows we like a certain table. It's a family friendly place with lots of parking and it's kept clean. I remember going to Yetter's Diner when smoking indoors was a thing. I guess that's why I avoided this place in the past. I only remembered how annoying it was. We decided to come here because it was handicapped accessible. The people that I was with told me it was really a great place. So it was a no brainer. It was exactly what I remembered how this place was (so old school booth seating with some tables) minus the smoking. We ordered their spinach and feta omelette plus home fries. Also, a happy waitress, which is a grilled cheese with tomato sandwich. It was an open grilled cheese sandwich. Everything was ok. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He kept checking on us to see if we needed anything which was great. I think the next time I would go for one of their burgers or a hot sandwich it really looked popular. When we were leaving I ordered a black and white cookie and a Boston cream slice of cake to go. I have to say that their black and white cookie was delicious. read more

Waffle fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings were yummy. The server was ok. Not sure who was suppose to clear table after we finish with our meal, but it was lacking some attention. We've been to the diner before for breakfast and it was wonderful but the other night we stopped there for dinner it was awful. The pulled pork sandwich had hardly any meat on it, but it had tons of coleslaw on it. Def not worth the price they ask for it. And I had to go ask the waiter who was on his phone at the counter the whole time...to get my hunny a refill on his drink. When I needed a refill I was never asked. Overall not happy with our experience and when there are no cars in the parking lot, next time we will take that as a warning to not go there. read more

Atmosphere: Yetter's Diner is located right off the main road. Since there aren't a lot of buildings, the cobblestone building is hard to miss while traveling. It's clean and modern, not a stereotypical retro metallic chrome diner. The interior is dimly lit and has plenty of tables, booths, and a full-length bar. Something I found interesting about Yetter's Diner was the menus. They were decorated to bees! I'm not sure why that was. Coffee: The coffee at Yetter's Diner was brewed hot and fresh. One of my favorite details was the Yetter's Diner logo mug, with a photo of the diner. Yetter's Diner Food: The Yetter's Diner menu has everything you want and need in a diner. From breakfast specials like pancakes and waffles, to classic diner dinners. Since it was early, I opted for my favorite breakfast: steak and eggs. I was between steak and eggs or nova lox omelet, but the steak and eggs won out.  The steak and eggs was decent, but it wasn't my favorite steak. The steak was drier than I prefer. The buttered rye toast tasted good and then there were plenty of hashbrowns. I wish the plate at Yetter's Diner were bigger because I found myself making a mess.  Service: The service at Yetter's Diner was great. The waitress was friendly and the food came out fast. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Overall Thoughts/Summary:  I liked Yetter's Diner and it's a pleasant stop if you find yourself in northwest NJ. While the food was alright, Tina V was incredibly rude and made us feel so unwelcome. When taking our order, she ignored any questions or requests that we had to the point of rolling her eyes as we asked for an extra carafe of hot water as well as not asking for our preferred bread option. The table next to us, who were of the same race as Tina V, were plied with a multitude of options as well as top notch service. The most egregious insult to me was the fact that we had a single bite of our food before having the receipt thrown at our table. That is unacceptable to a polite paying customer. We've always gone to Yetter's for breakfast and enjoyed it. We decided to try it for lunch, a big disappointment. I didn't want French fries, I opted for potato salad. Potatoes and mayonnaise - nothing else bleh. I asked for sautéed onions on my burger they forgot them. When the waiter brought the sautéed onions they were covered with oregano, the oregano overwhelmed the taste of the onions. I couldn't eat them. I like Yetters. It's right at the 206 crossing, very conveniently located en route to Newton, Augusta, Rt 80, etc. They offer low-key, unassuming service, and the prices are pretty good. That said - as someone who orders breakfast food mostly at diners - their rye toast is lacking both in freshness and in size. The coffee also leaves much to be desired. Two creamers can barely lighten it. The eggs are okay. I recommend Yetters more for lunch food: a wrap, a burger, etc. News stations on the TVs is a general turnoff for me as well, especially if it's one specific channel that is typically aligned to one political side. Yetters, I think you can do better, I really do. You're a solid 6, kid. But you need to up your game a little to compete with Hampton Diner and Jumboland. My friend and I sought refuge here after the last weekend of that car-themed place just down the road. (They made us wait in line a half hour before telling us they had a limited menu because their chefs didn't want to come in on closing weekend. Classy.) So Yetter's was, for better or worse, The Backup Choice. But that's okay. Everything was okay. I am trying my hardest to remember what I even ordered, but I believe it was some sort of sandwich. (I had wanted a particular sandwich at that other place. Such is life.) So here, I recall the fries being very much the frozen variety but well reheated. None of the desserts looked particularly interesting. Typical diner - large portion (whatever I ordered came with soup as well), low on taste (the soup was also forgettable - something involving chicken). It's fine as a local diner, and everything except dessert is certainly better than the nearest competition (Jefferson?), but that's not a high bar to clear. Solid diner that has become a staple on trips to my friend's Poconos house. Stick with simple stuff like burgers (or try the mash of cheese and meat that is the pita burger if you're giving up on health for a while). For some reason they list spicy fries on the menu, which in reality are just waffle fries without spice. The only reason it does not get a higher rating is because the bleu cheese burger was served on a piece of flatbread which was odd. The burger itself was not the best, but it wasn't terrible! The diner is as forgettable as the food and service. There are other places to stop along this stretch of road and I suggest that you do so. I used to stop here more often when I was passing through on my way to PA and eventually ceased going. I recently stopped in there after not going for a while and remembered why I stopped coming. The waitstaff are usually sitting around at the counter talking to friends and family instead of remembering to get an item we ordered and asked for 3 times. I told myself that I would never go back to Yetters Diner after the horrible roast beef I had two years ago. It was so tough I almost chipped a tooth on the gristle. Well, here we are two years later. I wanted breakfast so I tried 4 other diners. They were either too packed or closed. I had no choice but to go to Yetters. Nobody greeted me, I sat down and waited for 5 minutes before my server arrived. I ordered and the food did come out hot and within time but I finished my coffee 1/2 way through my meal and was not offer another cup. Not even if I wanted to pay for it. The service was just as rude, slow and terrible as I remembered itfrom my leather roast beef meal. Go to Hampton Diner, Sparta Diner or Jefferson Diner before you make the mistake I did. I just hope my memory stays clear so I don't do this again. The really sad thing is that I think the owners really don't care. What a shame. read more
