We stopped in for happy hour and had a couple great cocktail (Wrecking Ball Martini) and tap beer (Surly + stout). I see that they have some food options I'd like to try next time (cheese curds, flatbread pizza, or a burger). We weren't up to gnoshing on food tonight, but cheese curds are among those items I have a hard time resisting. So next time, I've got my eye on that: hand-battered and Ellsworth curds with caramel sauce. The vibe here is relaxed, and the building is historic (it's got some features that date back to the 1850s). After we ordered our cocktails from the bar, we noticed the pour your own beer tap wall with a rotating selection of 30 beers. I plan to try that next time, too as I can make my own beer flight!

Original cheese curds with caramel sauce- love the sweet and salty! These cheese curds are very crunchy tho

Decided to give this place a try after seeing it on TikTok! We live way up in the north metro but I would say this was worth the drive for the fun! This place has free street parking but if it's the weekend, definitely leave early for parking. Also, this area is so cute! Lots of shops to walk to! And it's close to the river! The vibes here are very relaxed and chill. There is a large bar area in the center and a far amount of seating! This is a family friendly place, so don't be afraid to bring the kiddos. Walking in, we were greeted right away and brought to our table! Our server was Elaina. She was spectacular! She was serving multiple tables but did an awesome job checking in on us! She was very friendly and definitely made our whole experience! We would happily go back just to have her as a server again! The food: the steak bites were tender and tasted good in the blue cheese sauce. I would get those again! The Sunnies were also tasty! Get extra lemon! This would also be a repeat for me! The cheese curds were good but very crunchy. The Carmel sauce was great! Had an awesome sweet and salty vibe! I would try another flavor though! My boyfriend got the quarry melt and enjoyed it! We also got an old fashion and the cherry picker to drink. They were both good! I would say the food here is about what you would expect for bar food. Not over the top amazing but still very good! While you are here, you absolutely need to get a bucket of rocks(go for the larger size!) and throw them at the wall! They have different objects set up to hit and it's truly a stress reliever! Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit!!

Stopped here after golfing in Red Wing. What a great place to stop. Street parking was easy to find. We ordered dry rub wings and a a smash burger to split. The wings were crispy and tasty. The burger had crisp edges and nice pretzel bun. We chose the waffle fries as our side. They were so good. We sat inside in a great table near the windows. There was a street side patio with umbrellas but we wanted AC after golfing. Service was excellent. I think our servers name was Elena and she was great. The only issue we ran into was it took a bit of time to get the food to our table. But we weren't in a hurry so all OK. It was busy in there with an audience (wearing wild Hawaiian shirts) going to see Weird Al Yankovich at Treasure Island. Hope the show was good.

Nice stop when you're downtown Hastings. The patio is dog friendly which is nice. They have rock throwing which is fun for the kids! I got a blue moon and their sweet potato waffle fries which were perfectly crispy and so yummy!

The fastest burger I've ever gotten . The bacon Brie, the burger had great flavor . The chips were good but the bacon jam was runny . It made the bottom of the bun soggy and some chip were too. The service was busy ok. The place had a fun vibe with the rock throwing .

We stop in here quite often after bike riding in the area. The service is very good for our large group. Good beer on tap. The mushroom Swiss burger is great with some jalapeños on it with a side of sweet potato fries. We also have to have the sunnies every time. Really good food. This time I shared a bucket of rocks with our group and they got to relieve their frustrations.

While on jury duty I had an hour lunch break so I stopped into the Quarry. Brilliant Feels like it has been here a long time with such a cozy and super friendly service. My server said they have been here two years. I had the blue burger and tots both were outstanding. Decided not to have a drink due to being on jury duty... Hastings is pretty!! The Quarry is a Gem!!

Loud on a Saturday afternoon after a Hastings bike ride. Lots of kids & families using the rock range! The Sunnies (hand battered and delicious) are on the menu under "Sharables". I would respectfully like to disagree with that-once you've had a sunnie chip here, you won't want to share because they are SO good! Very good smash burgers and it goes without saying how good the Drunken Sailor sandwich is (since it's my fav Sunnies inside with some nice sweet chili pepper jam). Good service from our staffer, Gretchen.

Nice choice of beers on tap as well as bottles! Stopped in on a random wed night for dinner sat at the bar Wait staff friendly and attentive the entire time we were there! We had dinner I picked the pulled pork flatbed along with side salad yummy! Nicely prepared Hubby had wings Carolina gold sauce and Nashville hot ( and yes there was heat!) only downside no celery or carrots are available however the blue cheese is home made and delicious! The place was not crowded and it was clean and a friendly atmosphere! We will be back!

Great new spot in downtown Hastings. I hope they can pull through as this location seems to be a black hole for businesses, I wish you guys all the luck in the world! And maybe luck won't be needed. They make a pretty mean burger. I came here for a work meeting and tried their bacon and cheddar burger. The bacon on the burger was thick cut and yummy, which is a good sign they care about their food. The blue cheese dressing I got on the side for my tots was homemade, another great sign of a good place that cares for their food. The only gripe I will give is that you couldn't customize the doneness of your burger, all burgers are cooked to the same temp - done. I like my burgers medium rare but the patty wasn't overcooked in any way. This place is also home to a unique and interesting way of entertainment/ blowing off some steam. You can buy a bucket of rocks and throw them at different targets in a special "shoot gallery" (ha, I am not kidding you). For only $5 a bucket, maybe not such a bad way of spending a night after having one too many beers? There is also a workable crane or dozer if you want to become a Tonka Trucks kid again. Whatever suits your fancy, this place is a good place in downtown to grab a beer and burger.

First time here based on a recommendation. Very comfortable space with a lot of tap selections and a varied menu. Service was excellent. After a couple of cold beers, we ordered the drunken sailor sandwich and the half rack of ribs. The cheese curds we had as an appetizer were 10 out of 10. Besides the housemade ranch there was a caramel dipping sauce with the cheese curds. Sounds crazy, but it was totally addictive! The sandwich and chips were very tasty. The ribs were exceptional as were the side dishes of coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Highly recommend!

Wanted to give the new place a try. Granted, I went in at the lunch time and it wasn't very busy at all; I'm thinking it picks up in the evening. Service was quick and friendly during lunch. I decided to try the totchos, since I wasn't too hungry. They were tasty, but I hope they consider doing an option to add beef or chicken (like regular nachos), as there was definitely something missing. The rest of the menu looked good and will come back to try the beer and cocktails!

Stopped in Saturday night for some live music. The place was busy but thankfully not chaotic busy…read more When I entered the host sign was turned to "Please Wait To Be Seated" but nobody was there so I started to mosey to see where I thought the musician would play? I entered the dining room off to the north and asked a staff where he would play? She pointed to the area by the host stand. As I began to make my way to the stand to wait to be seated I saw two women vacating a table so I asked them if they were leaving and if I could have their table? I was only there a short few minutes before the bartender came out to ask if I needed a drink or a menu? Also stated she would clean the table. I told her "I saw the wait to be seated sign but nobody was there". She said they do that so the servers don't get overwhelmed. There were a few cocktails that sounded absolutely delicious, but they'll have to wait for another day when I have room in my belly. I opted for the kids grilled chicken tenders, it was like a pounded out chicken breast cut in to strips, perfect enough for me. I like the decor...look up, some of the light fixtures are wagon wheels w lanterns hung from them. The area above the "gambling" corner has a car bumper and old Radio Flyer just below the ceiling, fun. There is a sign on the wall there that reads: Drinks 2-for-1 while gambling. If that's your jam! The acoustics were great for the musician! Parking Parking was easy w all four sides of Main Street offered free parking and the east/west running streets also offered free parking. Nutty Squirrel has a sign on the wall near the host stand that lists their daily Specials. My server was "sous-chef trying to earn some extra cash, Anthony". Let me tell you, as I asked a fellow who was bopping around all night "are you the manager? Sous-Chef Anthony wasn't good... he was freaking fabulous! I asked him for a sauce lid a bit ago and said don't you dare come back here in two minutes with a lid... I'm here all night!" Anthony replied "I'm not doing anything else at the moment." When he had brought out my food I asked "could you bring out silverware when you get a moment?" Anthony replied "I can do it now, I got you." He was so friendly and attentive, very much appreciated. Thanks Nutty Squirrel for a simply delightful evening! Delicious food ordered from and brought out by a friendly fellow in a comfortable and well lit environment for a reasonable price. Looking forward to my next visit when I can imbibe in a cocktail or maybe have the Burger of the Month! Cheers!

Pulled Pork Sandwich was inedible, mush with sour coleslaw on top. All of the food was barely warm- we did order a pizza, so they maybe waited for the pizza to be done and then brought all the food together(?)IDK. The wings we ordered were good, but not like they used to be. Nachos were sad, curds mediocre. The service was fine, but the food isn't worth the price. We talked this place up so much, but it seems it's going the same direction as all the other restaurants these days: severely low-quality food for super high prices
