Had a great experience last night. It was very busy, so while we waited, we ordered from a sort of spot at the end of the bar for people waiting for a table. The bartender was friendly & efficient! Great drinks...lemon drop martini, margarita flight & Taylor neat. Not too outrageously priced either...bonus! We had 2 build your own combo & a smash burger. We all enjoyed our meal. Would definitely recommend and look forward to going again. Oh, there was also a gelato bar maybe separate from the restaurant, but inside. We stumbled upon this gem driving around when arriving in Port Clinton. Upon entering, it's a very clean traditional smokehouse. Huge dining area and outside seating if desired. Our server, Belle, made the night. She took great care of us, brought extra refills, napkins, and was ahead of us and on the ball while being the most friendly server we have had at a restaurant in a while. I had the 1/2 rack with jalapeño cornbread and smoked baked beans. Everything was great. The ribs did not fall off like some overcooked baby backs but they were very lean and great flavor. They've also got a great choice of sauces. I dipped a finger in a dot of blueberry habanero. They aren't kidding when they say it's their hottest, but it has good flavor while really kicking up the heat to a new, "stay with you" level. Another family member got the brisket mac abs cheese wrap for something different. It looked great but is a messy one. The wrap is actually more of a burrito shell. Everything was great and we would come back again. Love music that wasn't too loud, which was a great touch. We got there around 6pm on a Friday. After a whole day out on Lake Erie catching perch, The Que was an amazing find. The BBQ owes absolutely no apologies to anyone. Stellar brisket, top notch pulled pork, super tasty wings. Wow. Very average, nothing to write home about. The chairs inside are also made for incredibly small butts . They appear big "but" fit my size 2 teen perfectly. They had a decent beer list and full bar. The BBQ was just average, it seemed weird you could order the brisket by fatty or not fatty... and then they were out of one kind. Our brisket was so dry... all the sauce in the world wouldn't save it (The sauces are really good though!!) Last summer my boyfriend, brother and i came here to eat. We were visiting from New Jersey and trust me we would all go back to Port Clinton to eat here. Get ready for a rave review!!! My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant as we were driving through Ohio and searching for a local barbecue restaurant. We saw that this one had outdoor seating with a water view and decided to give it a shot. The hostess was kind and friendly. Our server, Amanda, was very sweet as well, but also extremely knowledgeable about the menu and extremely efficient -- we hardly had to wait for anything, it seemed. We got drinks, the Flannel Mouth Cider and the Key Lime Martini. WOW the martini was incredible! One of the most delicious drinks I've had. As an appetizer, we decided to try the Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Also amazing -- I actually closed my eyes during my first bite to make the most of the experience LOL. For our main course selections, the brisket smash burger and build your own tray with pork, fries, and asparagus did not disappoint. I loved their variety of sauces -- the spicy apple, peach, and Carolina mustard were all incredible! And of course the view was spectacular. First, if it's nice weather ask to sit on the deck. The view of Lake Erie often includes eagles soaring overhead. But, the food always makes this a worthwhile destination. Personally, I'm a fan of the ribs. If you get there early, and they are offering a rib special, don't be afraid to give it a try. They will tell you that they are yesterday's ribs, but they are cooked with barbecue sauce and I always enjoy them. Also, always ask for bread. The bread tastes like it was homemade. Servers are always friendly, and can make helpful recommendations if you're not familiar with the menu options. read more

We decided to stop in for lunch Saturday, sat on the patio, and enjoyed one of the best meals we've ever had up here at the lake. We started with the pork belly burnt ends. Our server brought out a plate of pickles, jalapeños, bread, and a side of their house peanuts (btw, SO GOOD). We ordered brisket, chicken quarters, Mac and cheese, and smoked baked beans. Everything and I mean everything, was cooked to perfection & portions were plentiful! The pricing is relatively cheap compared to what we normally pay in Columbus for BBQ (and this was better). Last but not least, our server Apryl was soooo good! It's been days now and we are still blown away. One of the best servers we've ever had. She was polite, accommodating, and on it! Decided to treat myself tonight and go out on the town for supper. Decided on the Que. Ordered the special which was meatloaf. Price was $17 which included two sides. Waitress served up the meal and my first thought was did I order from the kiddy menu? Wow what a measly little pice of meat! It was about three bites! And the kicker was it was COLD! We met my father-in-law and brother -in-law to celebrate fathers day and really enjoyed it. They were not at full staff so had people wait maybe 10 minutes which was not a big deal and did not fill all the tables up and we understood that. Darby was our server and she was very nice and attentive. The deep fried deviled eggs and cauliflower were delicious appetizers along with the sauce for the cauliflower. A nice basic selection of drinks so no complaints from us. I had the pulled pork sandwich with had a nice portion of pork and french fries. The jalapeno cornbread was good and nice sized portion as well. My wife and her dad and brother had the half slab of ribs and they were delicious fall off the bone. The house BBQ sauce was a nice flavor along with a mustard sauce and two others. I also ordered the smoked baked beans which were just ok, nothing special. There is a nice patio to eat on the water however it was so humid we sat inside and they had a guitarist singing outside as well. I like this place (I LOVED when Nagoya occupied it but that's another story and look forward to their new location). As far as BBQ goes it's pretty straight forward so you find cornbread, wraps, brisket, chicken, ribs etc...We've consistently had good food, with good service, at a good price. Family friendly with nice live entertainment provided. It's busy but the servers are pleasant & hustle. It's always been a solid choice. Decent beers on draft with some local choices but the also have canned craft beers and then the typical domestics. read more

Not impressed. Don't tell me "smoked wings" on the menu and serve me deep fried wings covered in sugar. These wings are not smoked at all. Very disappointed. Server was okay and a clean guy. But unfortunately had to cover for restaurants lie and was discomforted. If you want to get hammered next to a nice view go for it. By the time you are pizz drunk the wings will be delicious. My kids' fries were overcooked, and the Mac and cheese tasted bland. I judge bbq joints starting with the brisket. Brisket was legit. I ordered the lean and it had great smoke and very tender and juicy. Deep fried deviled eggs and candied bacon were great too. As we were walking into the building at 2pm on a Saturday. We were met with a group walking out. That group told us that is was really weird in there. Whatever. As soon as we walked in, we saw a HUGE dining area that was maybe 90% empty. 3 employees at the host station told us it would be a one hour wait. We asked why. They said due to social distancing and reservations, they had no available seats. Mind you, the dining area was EMPTY! I asked when the reservations was for. They said 4pm. So 2 hours. And they were not seating anyone else. If I owned this place, I'd be mad that the staff was preventing paying customers from occupying a table .... when the reservation was not for another two hours. My wife and I made a last second decision to stop here a little after noon on a beautiful Sunday drive. All we knew about this place is it was BBQ. Pleasantly surprised. We got the sampler app platter. Devil eggs, chicken wings are very good. Burnt pork end could have been crispier for me but still good. I had beef brisket and it was as good as anywhere in Texas I had it. Wife had brisket tacos and she liked them. Just about to leave and there is live music on back patio. Loving barbeque, we were excited to see this restaurant open over July 4th weekend. The Brisket burger and fries go a thumbs up. From the sides the baked potato salad was tasty and seemed homemade. The fatty Brisket tender and had good taste. However, the ribs were just ok. Not the worst but definitely not the best we have had. The other sides were just ok. The Mac and Cheese tasted like noodles with purchased cheese sauce over it. The baked beans weren't horrible but not better than canned baked beans. The creamed corn was just ok; it didn't have much flavor. Overall, we will not return to eat. The food was not up to par with other barbeque restaurants. It seems they need to reconsider the sides and possibly make them homemade. There are too many good restaurants in this area to spend more time with this one. read more

Called in for carry out and was told I could do curbside - it was a 2 hour wait. We decided it was worth it. Got there exactly at 2 hours and called in - "oh we're not doing curbside, you have to come in". Went in to pickup food and it was STILL not ready. Over 2 hours for 3 dinners on a Thursday night for carry out is completely unacceptable. Couldn't tell you if the food is good or not because we're still waiting for it as I write this - 2 hours, 40 minutes and counting... Update - waited 40 minutes (after already waiting 2 hours) for our order. Finally got food at 9:15pm. Multiple other carry out customers were also waiting for food - all told 8:30 pickup time. Some got refunds and left. We tried to get a refund and were told no - even though the guy in front of us got one. Got home and unpacked the order and we were missing some sides and the sauces I requested (was told they'd be in the bag). I tried to call but the phones were conveniently off. The food was mediocre, cold pork and watery coleslaw. As long time customers of Nagoya, we're very disappointed that the restaurant was replaced by this - we will not be back for carry out or dine in. read more

We've been here several times and the food is generally ok but they are not always consistent. This trip we were informed that when multiple people at you table order the "make your own tray" it now comes family style. So 3 out of 4 is order the BBQ tray. All the food comes on a full sheet tray, the meat literally piled on it. The sides were all divided up in the paper boats. What did they think we were going to do? All eat off the same tray? No serving utensils just a pile and our own forks. The manager said that's how all BBQ restaurants do it now so the chef decided. We asked for something to serve it with and never received any tongs or large spoons. Here's the kicker - I noticed the chef came out to the dining room and stopped to ask every table how their meal was except ours. He purposely did not come to our table, so incredibly rude. read more
