Jenn did my make up for both the rehearsal dinner and then the makeup the following day for the wedding. I have VERY sensitive skin and I am allergic to everything. She had me bring my own make up and she applied it brilliantly. She even had eyelash extensions that I wasn't allergic to - that was a first! It was so tastefully done and not overdone. I got so many compliments both nights. It also lasted the entire day and night. It didn't run or smear - I just reapplied the lipstick. My daughter, the bride, looked amazing - just perfect and natural. Her eyes sparkled and her color palate was not overdone and also lasted the entire day. In addition, we got some proofs back and we didn't look orange or yellow. Jenn truly knows what she is doing! She is also so nice and kind and easy to talk to - very important for a stressful day. Jenn arranged for Jessi to do my hair and everyone else's as well. I showed Jessi pics of what I wanted, and she did it exactly. My hair also lasted the entire time and didn't move. I booked The Queens Bees for Hair/Make-up for a photoshoot I did at Madonna Inn for my 1-year wedding anniversary. Jenn was very responsive and accommodating (she came in at 6:30 AM!). I have gotten hair/make-up done enough to know, 1. I am not an expert 2. with that said, some artists don't listen to my preferences/wants. Jenn and Jordy did my make up and hair on my wedding day, I was looking forward to get glammed up but unfortunately the make up and hair made me look washed out and didn't bring up any of my features. I didn't look like myself but rather old and pale, it was odd. I have done make up with Mac cosmetics at the mall and when they finish, I couldn't believe how fabulous I felt. With Queens bees it was the opposite I looked pale, washed out. The hair spray they use was so sticky that you couldn't run your fingers thru your hair. I hired Queen's Bees to do hair and makeup (Kayla and Ashley on hair, Paige and Amber on makeup) for 16 (!!) women/girls (me the bride, bridesmaids, moms, stepmoms, flower girls, and others for my wedding on May 21, 2022, and I was completely blown away by their talent. The Queens Bees provided hair/make-up services for our wedding last weekend, and I was extremely happy with their work. Jenn is super organized, kind, and responsive. I knew I was in good hands with her team from the beginning. We had Adelita for make-up and Maryah for hair. They are both amazing artists. We had the absolute best experience working with The Queen's Bees! My husband and I got married this past August at HammerSky Vineyards. Since it was a destination wedding I had to decide on a H&M team remotely, which was a very stressful process. I have been in many, many weddings and have been unhappy with my hair and makeup nearly every time, so I was very concerned about picking a styling team without being able to meet in person and have a trial. I like a very light and natural look, and no matter how often I communicate that I always feel like my makeup is much too heavy and hair overstyled. We arrived in Paso on Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning my mom and I headed down to SLO to do my hair and makeup trial with Jenn and Katie. I was obviously a bit apprehensive about doing my trial four days before our wedding, but the second I stepped into the salon all my cares flew away. We spent about 2.5 hours with Jenn and Katie and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of our entire wedding week. Both Jenn and Katie overwhelmed me with their kindness, professionalism, and skill. I walked out of the salon feeling absolutely relaxed and beautiful - a feeling which stayed with me during our entire wedding week. What a hassle working with Reeda! I was referred to her by my wedding venue for bridal make up and had the worst experience. First. I am a freelance worker as well so I understand the business. Even though the venue is 3 miles from her salon, she charges $50 for her MUA to leave the salon because that's time away from the salon. Excuse me? That's what freelance artists do! Also, she hustled me into committing to a certain number of appointments on the day of my wedding before I even had my own consultation (which I had to pay for) because she said many of her artists don't work for such a small minimum of just the bride. Uh business is business, the artist is compensated for their time either way. Don't advertise that you're a bridal service if you're going to let your artists pick and choose who they want to cater to. I felt like I was bidding for MUAs. I had a great experience with The Queens Bees for my wedding makeup and hair. They were very flexible and easy to get in touch with, but most of all they did great work and were wonderful people to have around on my wedding day. I also appreciate that they use natural products as much as possible. Reeda was very prompt and thorough in her email responses. She definitely knows her stuff, and she was there checking in with the artists during my hair and makeup trials. The lip color used on me during the trial transferred and I didn't want to worry about that on my wedding day, so since I live out of town Reeda suggested that I find a lip stain on my own and bring it - which was difficult, but in the end I learned a lot and found something great. My makeup artist was Jenn and she was amazing - not only did she take the very different images I gave her and put them together to create a look that worked for me, but she was just a total sweetheart and really took into account what I wanted. She was super patient with my requests, switching up the lashes and the lip color at the trial to get it just right. She also did both moms' makeup on the day of and they both looked lovely. The airbrush makeup was pretty incredible - it didn't budge all night and looked really natural. I was really happy with how it came out! The only thing that didn't quite last was that one of my lashes started to come unglued about two hours in. I know that not much can be done to prevent that and the corner of my eyes are prone to oiliness; I just wish I had thought to bring lash glue! My hair stylist was Jordy and she was also a joy to work with - just a super chill, caring, and fun person to have around. She recommended that I get highlights to give the style more depth, and I ended up making an appointment with her at Faces a la Mode in SLO for that - which was by far the best hair appointment I've ever had. She even gave me a quick hair cut and a product sample to use on the day of the wedding. I wish I lived in the area so I could see her for all my hair needs! I was late on the day of the wedding, but she took it all in stride and still did a fantastic job on my hair and both of the moms' hairstyles, too. I had initially asked to have a kit put together for me of some of the makeup used for the day of, which they agreed to do, but I guess there was some confusion because I only ended up with the lip products--however, that was all I really needed. With both of us being in our 50+ years and not ones to wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, it was a bit daunting to get our shine on for our big day, and the photos that came along with that.
