Just had Jason at Radio Dr install an aftermarket devise in my Odyssey to replace the existing system. Initially I was frustrated. Then angry. First impulse was to return and make a case to get this JVC (second choice, following the planned Pioneer I wanted. On arrival I was informed the Pioneer was sold to another customer getting stereo next week.) removed and self-sourcing the original Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX (this is the one i found in my search, not certain it's exactly the same unit.) The frustration was in part probably my doing. I found myself suddenly out of time and was worried about being late. Which I was in the end. When I called to say I was displeased, in short it was decided I'd best return the following morning to sort it out. During the course of the night I researched and found the possible stereo I wanted and it was in stock. But when I went to BB, it was NOT. Not surprised there. But talking to the young man there go me to thinking that I might be ok with the JVC. The GUI displayed that it was Apple play compatible and that Bluetooth was acceptable (duh, yet strangely didn't work!) The idea of Bluetooth is presumed to mean WIRELESS RIGHT?! Yet it's not actually the case. My wife's Subaru ('21) has a stock system and it 'sees' my phone, and it needs a USB to use my IPod Classic. My vehicle is a Honda Odyssey (touring/nav trim), 2008. Being among the first phone integratabtle models, but sadly too dated for smart phones after probably an iPhone 5. Compounded with all pre 2014 Hondas with NAV, Jan 1 2022, they all suddenly did a global Y2K thing. Killing many functions, notably the clock was forever stuck on Jan 2002 and 9something. Turns out, Jason only told me "you can plug a USB cable through the glove box" Which at a glance meant I would have to run a USB thru the glovebox and into the rear of the head unit. I just paid a fee to not have to DIY my stereo install. So I was naturally really pissed off! At the glance, as viewed from the drivers side, when I looked, no USB was there, so I remained confused and mad. Today, I was in the car, and sitting in the passenger seat, thinking I might just go ahead and see about the USB issue, and wonder of wonders! Behold! Tucked neatly inside, and clearly out of view from the far left, is a female USB connector! Upon paging my iPhone 12 in NOW the screen shows the icons I want! The GUI for this is still an irritation, but like any operating system, there's a learning curve that needs attention and time. As for RADIO DOCTOR, I'm a satisfied patient and will be back for routine checkups! Eric and the other guys are great and sometime in the next week or two I'll probably be tasking them with the backup camera work for my ride. read more

I called and ask if they worked on motorcycle, Harley Davidson, they said need to see it to made appointment, for a Saturday, also told them what the issue i was having. Went to appointment, they look at it for an hour then told me it would be an all day job, I said ok ,keep bike there ,and call me ,so next Friday called me ,made arrangement, to get ride to Madison, WI where they are location ,it was 100 mile round trip, went on a test drive ,had same issue ,they told me that need another appointment ,so we discuss the issue, and made another appointment, came back next weekend, it was late ,they told me it wasn't all good, and they were closing, I headed back to Rockford ,IL got 10 miles away, same issue, so i called back Monday ,and was told that the wiring was hook up wrong from original install, and i apply ,why did you tell me that from the beginning ,anyway i had them remove all the wiring ,and start from scratch, boy that was a mistake, same issue ,so i finally ,made another appointment to take all there equipment out, and give me a full refund ,than nightmare on Elm street started, I did get Refunded, took a few month, and almost getting a lawyer involve, My suggestion is to stay away from them PERIOD!!! read more

I have an 2008 Toyota that The Radio Doctor installed an aftermarket remote start. I lost one of the remotes and the other remote broke recently. Mike at Radio Doctor worked to find another remote (which is now discontinued) and found a old spare remote. He contacted me that he found the remote and for me to stop in anytime to have it programmed. It was working like new in a few minutes. First of all I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this establishment. What a headache!!! From Jason tell me it would be 4 hours max and ending up 8 hours later. I purchased and mistakenly let them install a Memphis 12" with a Amp in the box already. After only 5 days it was cutting in and out. I took it back and one of their inexperienced installers tried to fix the problem. That didn't work at all. Later that day I had to go to Rockford and before I even got there my car smelled like burning plastic. It then no longer played bass but just made crackling noises and the sub would also buzz loudly even when the car was completely off. Took it back made an appointment to uninstall. I paid $1160.47 for everything installed. They gave me a check for $665.00 even though this was completely the installation and all the Radio Doctors fault. Very expensive for not having it for a week even. I will definitely writing reviews and letting everyone get a heads up on the experience they may have after dealing with this establishment. read more

Awful. I took my car back 5 times (!) to deal with poorly installed components. Remote start, amplifier, sub-everything was wrong. Front driver's side speakers were not grounded! GROUNDED!! That's like the first thing they teach you! They didn't know how to set the gain on amplifier - are you kidding me?! It's like amateur hour over there! read more

I've returned to the Radio Doctor for my install/repair needs. They installed a retro radio and under seat sub in my classic. They did a great job with the install. They were fast and under bid. I didn't expect that. I just returned because the radio quit. It turned out to be a blown fuse that I couldn't find. I was in and out in 30 minutes with no charge! They charged me 5x the price for a part! My auto start remote stopped working. They charged me $99 for a XL202 RF to Data Interface module that costs $18 on Amazon. Then charged me $60 to install it. I wish I could give them no stars. read more

My husband took his truck in to have the radio looked at. They told him they couldn't fix it and that he would have to have a new one installed. Over $900 later and Bluetooth sounds like shit, navigatinavigation doesn't work AND they messed up the wiring and now he has no dash left. Took it into Don Miller and they said The Radio Doctor messed the wiring up. He too it back to Radio Doctor and they won't do anything about it, REALLY?! Haven't heard the last of us yet. I will never recommend this place to others. Please avoid them. We feel like we've been taken for over $900. read more

Visiting from Arizona and really needed our inoperative CD player working for the drive home. Called the Radio Doc, he said come right over and an hour later everything is good as new. Charged $68, which I thought was reasonable since the local Honda and Acura dealers were talking $400+ and 2-3 weeks for a repair. read more

Riley and all other staff are very vigilant and will install radios in your vehicle the way you want them to. Very intelligent, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service! Nice waiting area for kids too. Forgot to add that if they provide the parts those parts are covered under their warranty, if I understood correctly. If there is any type of problem they will fix it and make it right. Bite me Best Buy! Best Buy cannot hold a flame to Radio Doctor! I mean, Radio Doctor's prices are very competitive and they seem to have every price range covered from entry level devices to advanced. I went in to get my Viper remote replaced because my other two stopped working and instead of just selling me a new one right away the owner tried to see if it was battery or something else. I like the honesty of that and he was very friendly and fast and replacing the remote and re-programming it to my car. I highly recommend this place! read more

Did a great job on my brand new 2017 Subaru wrx. Did front speakers a radio and 12 inch mojo sub with 2 amps. Took real good care of my car. Also got it done in the time they said they would. I have took many cars and my wife's SUV here and will continue to go only here. Can't wait till winter to get my winter tires and rims for my subie from them. Don't waste your time or money some where else. If somethings wrong eric the owner will work with you to fix it. read more

Had an iPod installation for my car - it was the worst job I've had done for anything on my car ever. The design was ridiculous and nothing I would have envisioned, with the aux cable dropping straight down in my middle console so that my larger apple music playing devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad - which used to fit with my old solution, also stated as a requirement) could not be used because they could no longer fit with their cable in the middle of everything. Worse yet, I had them replace two of my speakers and the sound it not good. The cable never connected well, as if they didn't test it. I called to have the repair, no follow up. I would never recommend a friend to this place nor would I ever spend another penny there - beware of service people who don't care, crappy designs, and poor quality in the end. read more

While I'm not at all happy about their first botched installation, they did everything that could be reasonably expected to fix it. They came to my office to pick up my car keys, went on to my home to jump start my car (which failed, but they did indeed eventually get it started), brought it into their shop and fixed it, returned my car to home and returned my keys to me at work. read more

We've been very happy with our continued service from Radio Doctor. Initially we had some issues but they were courteous in addressing the issues and fixed the problem. They also helped out recently in fixing a problem and went above and beyond in installing a switch to help reduce the need to bring it back in. read more
