We chose The Ram for my husbands 70th bday. Great experience. Top notch service and delicious food. Also wonderful ambience with live music. Micheal was fabulous in taking care of our large party needs.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Instead of ordering just a couple entrees we decided to order several appetizers. The wagyu was perfect. We cooked on each side for about 4 seconds, seasoned with salt and wrapped it around the candied mushrooms. Delicate and so flavorful. The tuna crudo was fresh and the color was bright. We were worried the agnolotti would be heavy and ruin our progression but it wasn't. It was light with a light cream sauce and filling. Burrata and tomatoes were exceptional, simple ingredients executed perfectly. They tomatoes are warm and the balsamic is reduced. Last, we had the scallops. Cooked perfectly with a couple smooth purées. Our server was fantastic. It was her first evening and she crushed it! We sat outside and listened to the live music and it wasn't too loud. Great atmosphere.

Great ambiance! Definitely a little pricey but ambiance and overall food are worth it! We got the fondue to share and it was 10/10. Love all the fixings they give: bread, grapes, cornichons, beats, potato's, apples. Ordered the scallops, pasta, and much more!

It's Open. It's Open. Don't miss the Ram which opened in 1937. Wednesday night is one of the heritage dinner, Schnitzel, and it's like you are in Bavaria Germany. Among lots of other amazing plates, a beautiful music from the piano man or hitting the bar, all adds to this amazing culinary experience. Go and enjoy!

Fondu is a must and with so many options. Beautiful restaurant. Impeccable friendly service. My family and I had a reservation here, but when we came earlier, they couldn't seat us so we sat in the lounge. Way prefer it. Loved being by the bar and other tables having birthday parties and the USC game was on. Get the fondu. Wow. Loved dipping potatoes a, pickles, bread, mushrooms, tenderloin, broccoli, and so many other goods. Dessert we got the cheesecake and a cake of some kind. Both so nice to share. We also got the octopus and crab cake. I loved both but the octopus better cuz the sauces were delectable. Jordan was our server. So nice and friendly. Told us about his life in New York. Regularly visited to refill drinks. Loved this place and if I ever return, it's an easy revisit here!

Beautiful ambiance, delicious food, excellent service, wonderful pianist (Larry) and a truly great experience! The Ram is only open Sun-Wed, so we had to get in on our latest SV trip. The staff is so kind! Decor is warm, cozy, pleasant. Food is fantastic--the foie gras was excellent as were the duck and the scallop appetizer. Mr. Larry on the piano was great--there was an article even featured about him in the local paper.

My friend and I came down to the Ram from our room at the Inn for a quick dinner. Most other places were booked, but we were lucky to find two seats off on the side of the bar. Everything was well spaced out for Covid restrictions, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and not too busy. Our server/bartender Kira was awesome! She offered a tasting of different sparkling wines for my friend to choose from and then recommended some great food options. She took great care of us and made sure our glasses were always full. She made us feel right at home with her excellent customer service and kindness. Plus the fondue and dipping foods was an excellent choice for dinner! It was my first time having fondue (I think), but I will definitely remember this time now! It had such good flavor and was definitely enough to share between two people for not a lot of money!

What a great evening at the Ram. Or should I say the bar outside of the Ram. Pro tip: we had a reservation at the ram, but you can order the same food at the bar without a reservation. More laid back and still gorgeous. Great ambience. We started with the crab cakes and the octopus. Both were very flavorful. We liked them both. Fresh bread they brought out was also yum. We then had the fondue with veggies and tenderloin. Fondue was great. Filling and the cheese mixture was top notch. Enough stinky cheese in that fondue to make it flavorful but very smooth. Dessert was the cheesecake and the bread pudding. Service was really good. We watched a football game during the whole thing. We'll be back to the ram next time we're at sun valley. Great food after a long ski day.

At 8pm they are out of prime rib, halibut, trout, artichokes, ribs, and salad! WHAT is going on? I do understand this sort of thing happening on occasion, but literally the last 4-5 times anyone in our family has attempted eating here, it has been such a bad experience like this! Bad food, out of main staple items, or summoned to the dreaded basement... Unfortunately, after 46 years of dining at Pioneer, I think we are done! The past several seasons, something seems different. Always out of MANY items, and service is blah! It was literally a family favorite, so it's sad to even be typing this!!! Shout out to Sawtooth Club for getting us in last minute and serving a delicious meal! We will be back to support them!

The food always comes out hot and prepared well. My personal favorite is fish and chips but occasionally branch out. Latest is calamari steak. Not your typical rubbery appetizer. Served with a simple crusty bread and lemon wedge. Killer! Will definitely do that again. Cocktails above average for the area and match typical price for area. We are visiting town to support an event for the culinary world and wanted to try some local establishments. I took my wife and the food was wonderful. We had the yellow tail and two pasta dishes. The yellowtail was perfect but I did feel as if the past was a little "too on the "al dente" side. The being said, I did thoroughly enjoy the food. However; from the moment we walked in the door, we were treated as a nuisance and felt unimportant/unwanted. The hostess was atrocious and made it very clear we were being judged while rolling her eyes to common questions like "do we need a reservation or can we be placed on the list or seated." After she did common tasks during our conversation (and briefly stepping away), we were able to get her to seat us (after asking again). This started us off with hesitation which was only further exacerbated by the staff taking our order and not refilling our alcoholic drinks. We love to enjoy experiences and are not afraid to spend our hard earned money - sadly, this made our time here short lived. We were not informed if there was a dress code that established our treatment/experience here. If so, the messaging would be received poorly due to the fact that we were wearing similar -to- identical attireTo the wait staff. Again, I severely dislike doing reviews like this as someone that's a chef and owner in the industry.

We were excited to try The Covey and left feeling a little disappointed…read more First, The quality of the yellowtail appetizer was excellent. It was fresh, beautifully prepared, and clearly handled with care. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't quite live up to the quality of the ingredients. Both pasta dishes had an unusually chewy, almost sticky texture that wasn't for us, and our empty glasses sat for about 20 minutes without anyone checking in. We would have happily ordered another round. What stuck with us most, though, was the feeling that we were being judged for walking in wearing our work clothes. As fellow restaurant people, we understand showing up after a long shift, so it felt a little out of place, especially in a room where the dress code for guests seemed far more formal than it was for the staff. Hospitality is about making every guest feel welcome, regardless of what they're wearing. There's obvious talent in the kitchen, particularly with the seafood, and we genuinely hope this was just an off night. We'd be happy to give The Covey another chance.
