Lots of spelling errors on the sign, my brother's wife wanted Miso and I wanted Tonkotsu, they gave us 2 of the Tonkotsu so had to go stand back in the long line to get it fixed. Even though the noodles were packaged they weren't too shabby. The broth was their saving grace. It was silky and delicious, the pork chashu was cooked nicely. The egg was overly hard boiled. Decided to give this truck another go with a colleague and sure enough, I had a far better experience. I don't know what happened the first go around, but this was night-and-day difference. My first cup of ramen was exceptionally bland and had almost no toppings. This one has a much larger amount of toppings and the broth tastes infinitely better. I would have gave one star even if I didn't find tiny red plastic netting in my ramen. It makes me question the conditions in which the ramen or ramen toppings are prepared. Outside of finding questionable netting in my ramen, I found the ramen noodle itself tasted like wads of goo. I am a ramen fanatic...and this place surpassed my expectations! They had their food truck (actually a food trailer) parked outside of my office for lunch one day. First this I noticed, the trailer is ADORABLE! Painted beautifully with cherry blossoms and stunning calligraphy style writing. They have all the popular varieties of soup bases, soy, pork, and spicy. I opted for the Piggy Ramen (pork-broth). Came with noodles, boiled egg, veggies, and PLENTY of pork! Usually at ramen restaurants, they give you just a few slices, maybe 2-3. But this one came with a heaping serving of deliciously soft pork. YUM! A fulfilling lunch, for pretty cheap! On a scale of 1-10 1 being packaged .20 ramen and 10 totally amazing authentic Japanese ramen, this would fall on at a 6. I got the piggy ramen. The broth was cloudy and rich but not quite as gelatinous as truly authentic stuff. But the flavor was good and certainly delicious enough to keep me eating. The ramen noodles were very fresh and perfectly cooked to just last al dente. The slice of pork was tender but not mushy, had good pork flavor but not much more as far as the flavor profile. The biggest disappointment was my egg - very hard boiled to be point of being green around the yolk. The bowl included sprouts and corn - two things I don't usually don't get in ramen. I love ramen and a food truck seems like a great delivery method for this delicious comfort food. I was beyond thrilled when I saw the truck outside my office today. Unfortunately the ramen mobile did not deliver the quality/flavor that I desire. I tried the pork bone ramen. There was no line at the truck, and the employees were very nice and courteous. My problem with the ramen is the flavor and ingredients used. The broth is very bland, it did not have much flavor at all. Certainly did not carry the Salty, Savory, Umami flavor that I was craving. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. The vegetables were tasty but almost none existent. The egg is hard and looks like it has been sitting in a warm truck all morning. The pork did not have any flavor, was pretty dry, and there was only was small piece. Overall the food was decent. Ramen is so tasty it is hard to truly ruin. This truck has been open for 2 weeks, and I am really hoping they can improve there service. I will be back in hopes that they do. read more

This is my favorite ramen spot in SLC. I get the Diablo Ramen with no meat and extra noodles. It has a good spice level that will light you up a bit but not ruin your day (or the next day for that matter). Really flavorful broth, fresh ingredients, nice dense noodles, and a consistent product. I've never been disappointed with this place. I had the Nummy Ramen (which is a miso paste base) with all the toppings - it was a huge portion, served piping hot, and really delicious. I a little ambivalent on what to say. It's pretty good ramen, but if it were in a restaurant I'd be pretty harsh on the eggs that are cooked to the point the yolks have the overcooked gray ring. The noodles didn't get separated when they were cooked. It was still pretty much a noodle puck I had to separate apart to eat. The reality is it was three star food, but gets the benefit of the doubt for now. I suppose when your primary broths are named nummy, happy, and piggy, I can't complain when they don't really match miso, shoyu, and tonkotsu respectively. Given the number of very good ramen places opening around town, people are willing to accept the correct names with fully correct flavoring. As such, all I can say is my happy ramen was only mildly happy, The chashu pork was properly done and nice. It was an excellent lunch option and the price more than fair. I spent two years in Japan and came to love miso ramen. I tried and tried finding ramen similar to the mom and pop ramen-ya you find everywhere in Japan. Looked and looked and couldn't find one. I found one in Japan that my wife liked (come to find out she prefers shoyu ramen). We continued looking and couldn't find anything, until today! Traditional ramen with nothing fancy. Oh so yummy. I love ramen. Though this isn't completely fresh I mean...it's a food truck after all right? Making their own noodles would be difficult. Got the piggy, or whatever is relevant to tonkotsu. Awesome broth. If I were to judge a food truck for ramen, I would go solely on broth taste. 5. Meat was good, noodles weren't fresh but still great noodles nonetheless. Unlike other food trucks, they don't charge you an arm and a leg. I'm ok with a $7 bowl. Also my wait time was fairly quick. I have withheld writing a review for the Ramen Mobile for a few years now, but after trying Yelp's "Top 3" ramen joints in SLC (and being sorely disappointed...), I can honestly say that Ramen Mobile is my favorite in Utah so far! It ain't no Ippudo but considering it's coming from a food truck, I am thoroughly impressed. The broth is the most authentic I've tasted and the portion is great! I've had Ramen Mobile many times throughout the years (the owner frequents our school and even donates a portion of sales to our class!!!) and every time, my meal is spot on! The owner is super sweet (btw, she trained IN Japan to learn how to make real ramen) and even writes your name on the bowl in Japanese, how cute! :) So I don't think people realize the amount of time and love that goes into making legit ramen broth. The 'Piggy' tonkotsu (pork) broth literally takes HOURS to make in order to get that rich, hearty flavor. Some may think it's too rich or fatty but that's how you know it's good. If you're not into the rich stuff (although I highly HIGHLY recommend getting the Piggy), there's a miso and soy sauce based broths as well. Tried both and they're good, but I will always to go my PIGGY! I like a little spice so I get the 'Devil Piggy' level 5, which is the tonkotsu broth with sriracha added for a kick of spiciness (you can choose 1-10). Each ramen comes with corn (yes, it's an actual thing and yes, it's super good with the ramen!), tender pieces of pork, and half a hard boiled egg. My only gripe is that the egg is hard boiled, not soft-boiled, but honestly not a deal breaker for me. Especially during the cold winter months, nothing hits the spot like a hot bowl of this ramen! What I've also noticed that some people don't understand is the cost. They think $7-8 for a bowl of legit ramen is really expensive for a food truck. Sure, it costs more than your $0.10 top ramen (don't even compare that shiz to Japenese ramen!!!) but $8 is a steal! The portions are actually very comparable to a sit-in restaurant but because it comes in a styrofoam bowl, you may feel like you're not getting that much. I've left ramen joints hungry because of the amount of noodles and toppings (or lack thereof) but Ramen Truck always fills me up. I paid $12+ at those other ramen places and typically spend $15+ in Seattle for good ramen. Sure, the presentation isn't as fancy but I can promise you, you're getting more than your monies worth! I'm still on my hunt for finding a good sit-down ramen joint in Utah. But until then, Ramen Truck will be my go-to! read more

I was born and raised in Japan and still visit yearly, I enjoy good Japanese style ramen. My wife and I went to Mulligans last week just to try The Ramen Mobile, I ordered the Devil ramen with miso based soup, the noodles were just OK, I understand the need to use prepackaged noodles for a mobile restaurant, no problem, the soup was bland and I'm pretty sure that they just added a bit of Sriracha hot chili sauce for the heat which is not the correct flavor for Japanese ramen. The roast pork, egg and vegetables were all very nice, the cup was filled just a little over half full. The two young ladies taking orders and cooking were also very nice and the ramen came out fast. If the soup base were a bit more flavorful and the correct Japanese spice sauce was used that would be a huge improvement, fill the Styrofoam cup a bit more full and it would be a definite winner. read more

This is the ramen truck that visits my work location a couple times a month. It's good, traditional ramen served by a really sweet lady from a cute little trailer painted with cherry blossoms. I always get the piggy ramen. Plenty of tender pork belly, corn and an egg makes ramen SO much more interesting than the dried noodle stuff from a packet. It's best in the winter, when you need some hot broth & noodles to fight off colds, but I'll take it in the summer too, cause the AC in my office is turning me into a girlsicle! I'm eating this, while I write this review. I have the Devil, at 10 with the miso broth. The broth for this is just right. The flavor is not overwhelmingly "fish" as some miso has been in my experience. The egg, the noodles and the pork were all cooked to my liking: Slightly soft hard-boiled on the egg Just a little passed al dente on the noodles Juicy, not mushy pork. Not bad! But also not amazing, considering it was $6.95 for the Happy Ramen soy-sauce-based soup. After taxes and tip it was $8.50. Only took about 5 minutes but line wasn't too long. I know I'm paying more for convenience of it being a food truck, but still doesn't feel up to the pricing. The egg is hard boiled and felt a little cold even being in soup; should be soft boiled. Noodles were okay, broth was fine. The meat was a tad too small. Maybe if they added seaweed or fish cake that would help the score more.
