    Traditional meat with Bolognese sauce
    Chantel M.

Stumbled upon this place on yelp and was so fascinated that it's a solely ravioli shop that also served sandwiches. The place is a more casual place. You walk in, order and pay at the register, then find a seat. I love a good ravioli, but I found the ravioli here to be okay. The meat ravioli with bolognese sauce was better than the chicken ravioli with pesto. The meat ravioli with bolognese is a classic, so can't really go wrong there. However, I thought the chicken ravioli with the pesto sauce was salty and watered down. The chicken itself had a strong chicken flavor, which I'm not a huge fan of. It felt like chicken that was cooked and refrigerated for some time to me. To be honest, the best part of the dish was the garlic bread. I also tried a brisket sandwich, and found it pretty decent. It had a good amount of lettuce and meat and toasty Dutch crunch. Overall, I found this place average. Nothing really stood out to me, but nothing was that bad either. If I went back, I'd probably just stick to the classic meat ravioli with bolognese.

What a great discovery this past Tuesday! Yes, they sell raviolis with a variety of yummy flavors and fillings, including cheese, chicken, lobster, spicy sicilian sausage, and asiago & zucchini. But this place offers an extensive menu of sandwiches too, made with quality meats, cheeses, toppings, and unique spreads like jalapeno garlic sauce, basil pesto, and habanero italian. So many delicious options to choose from, and you can customize as you please. I got the combo sandwich plus added pastrami, on dutch crunch, with "everything on it" except no mustard or pickles. It was quite large in size and beyond satisfying, thick and flavorful slices of meat, and a generous amount of melted cheese and fresh veggies. Every savory bite was like heaven. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers during lunch time, but service was friendly and more than sufficient. And I was able to enjoy my meal in the outdoor patio on a beautiful sunny afternoon. They have a lovely indoor setting as well, with a good amount of dining tables. Street parking in front of the eatery cost $1 per hour, Mon-Sat before 6pm (free on Sundays).

After a short class, I was feeling hungry and saw this place that had great reviews on Google. Excitedly, my partner and I went to this store where the worker suggested the Mojo sandwich and the chicken ravioli with vodka sauce. After a short wait they brought out our food and it was pretty good. The sandwich had too much pulled pork(surprising problem), because it was the only thing you'd end up tasting. The ravioli, which should have been amazing, wasn't that great. The flavor was fine and it was cooked to an al dente texture, but the inside filling was just so crumbly. The texture was kinda unpleasant in this regard, but at least the flavor was good and the garlic bread was a 10/10. Overall I would have to dock them some points for the ravioli(their literal namesake), but it wasn't that bad and the vibes were nice.

If you find yourself starving, go where the local firemen go - that's who was in line with us on our first trip here! The sandwiches are as good as the ravioli, but I would probably pick the original ravioli over the pastrami sandwich by a hair. I love that they have dairy-free options. We will be back to try more of the menu.

First review of 2025 and it happens to be a 5 star one! This place is a gem! My husband stumbled upon it while in the area, looked it up on Yelp, and saw it had great reviews. We decided to take my mom, and it turned out to be a cozy, local, low key, casual spot. Service was good too. Since the business is named after ravioli, we had to try it, and my husband also wanted to sample a sandwich. You get to choose the type of ravioli and sauce. We ordered the meat ravioli with bolognese sauce and the chicken ravioli with pesto sauce. My husband also got the meatball sandwich. Everything we ordered was divine. All three dishes arrived hot and fresh. The ravioli was served with two pieces of cheesy bread, which were absolutely delicious. The ravioli was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were packed with flavor. We all shared the meatball sub, which was also fantastic. Honestly, between the three of us, one ravioli dish and one meatball sub would have been enough, but I'm glad we got to try both sauces. We'll definitely be coming back often!

The Ravioli House has great food, I can't choose between the ravioli entrees or the sandwiches. Their fresh housemade ravioli is a must try, pick one or two raviolis and a sauce, and the order comes with a generous portion of cheesy bread. My favorite sandwich is roasted veggies on Dutch crunch. Their hot sandwiches are also great (meatball, hot turkey). Also don't miss their cook at home options in the refrigerator. The workers are super nice and very friendly and helpful. They have casual seating with vintage photos of San Mateo, as well as a couple of tables outside.

Holy smokes! What a gem. We had some errands to run in the area and needed lunch. So thankful we found this place! We ordered the Pastrami Sandwich + Meat Ravioli w/ Bolognese. Top notch experience and incredible food! The team was friendly and the food came out super quick. There are four small outdoor tables, not super spacious but enough room for us to enjoy lunch with our tiny dog. The handmade pasta is fantastic and we'll definitely be back soon!

The Ravioli House is a nice little deli that serves sandwiches (hot and cold) and their ravioli, pasta dishes. The shop is small but offers some outdoor seating but primarily indoor seating. Place your order, pay and they will bring to your table or get it ready for takeout. One restroom only. *Funny sign for fellow yelper Lee. Not that he has this issue at all. My wife and I split the Meat ravioli with Pesto sauce. It comes with cheesy bread. Also, we added one meatball. The ravioli was thin with not much filling, but cooked al dente. The pesto sauce was good! The meatball ($5) was a good sized meatball I thought the meatball was really tasty, flavorful. I wish we got another one. I would come back again if in the area.

I was randomly browsing and found The Ravioli House, which I am so happy about. This is going on my regular lunch rotation when I am in San Mateo. This is an Italian deli that does Italian sandwiches and raviolis. I got the East Coast sando with everything on sourdough roll. The price is actually really good for the Bay Area and the sandwich is huge. Next time, I want to get one of the raviolis because they look amazing. You can also get freshly made ravioli to go so you can cook at home. There is a lobster one that I really want to try out.

This is a tasty gem on the outskirts of the main drag of downtown. So there's lots of parking within walking distance. They have sandwiches and affordable ravioli plates. They serve all their ravioli with garlic bread too! The staff is friendly and we even saw locals come through. I'll definitely be checking this place out again! Even a simply ravioli with marinara was super tasty and nostalgic. Worth stopping by if you're craving flavors of Italy by a small buisness.

The pulled pork sandwich here is simply amazing - and I don't say that lightly as someone who typically isn't even a pulled pork fan! What sets this place apart is their unique smoking method, using a Big Green Egg Texas grill that infuses the meat with exceptional flavor. I ordered the pulled pork on ciabatta bread, which comes lightly mixed with coleslaw - a perfect combination that creates an incredibly moist, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The meat is so tender it simply falls apart with each bite. The coleslaw adds just the right amount of creaminess and crunch without overwhelming the smoky flavors of the pork. If you haven't discovered this hidden gem yet, it's absolutely worth a visit. This is sandwich perfection at its finest. Food: 10, Service: 10, ambiance: 6. Good street parking. Clean. Good area of town.

On the day of our Vow Renewal, my wife and I were running late, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the catering staff had taken it upon themselves to carefully put out our centerpieces, which we thought we would have to do. They even packed them away at the end of the night. We got multiple compliments from guests admiring the service. The team was extremely friendly, packed away leftovers for us and other guests, and was on top of their game the whole night! Ali was flexible with our last-minute changes, and Brian even drove to multiple locations just to find the same wine we drank on our honeymoon (which was a hit) so guests could partake. Oh my gosh, most folks beamed with pleasure after tasting the Beef wellingstons, the lettuce wraps, the crab cakes, those pear tarlets! Some even carried on discussion on how healthy the appetizers were. Cheat A Little selections were really a hit! The greenery/decor made a nice festive touch that seemed to invite folks over to have a coke or a little wine and cheer. We had a live acoustic musician playing in the background, and the whole time was bathed in warmth and good tidings. It was beyond enjoyable, delicious, and great. I'm fairly new at the San Mateo County History Museum, so I don't have the years of experience that others might have to know how well adapted you and your company Cheat-A-Little are to these events. I am so pleased with myself for trusting you. High-five, a TEN, perfect score for you and your excellent catering business my friend! Yes, they were expensive, but they do ALOT and provide alot and during+after the wedding, we had so many people telling us it was the absolute best food they have ever eaten at a wedding. - They helped coordinate linens and rentals and helped us when we wanted to do a second meeting to confirm our selections. - They gracefully answered questions throughout when finalizing our menu, and the 2nd tasting was just as delicious as the first. Their service and warmth did not diminish one bit after we signed. - During the wedding day, mr Michi himself handed us a handroll right after the ceremony, and that honestly was one of the moments I remember vividly. - The late night snacks were much appreciated by people, and after dancing, people appreciated the extra fuel. - They even helped clean up afterwards! We had two tastings, one upon signing the contract and a final one closer to the date where we were able to bring along family and a close friend. They served us full plates of every dish so we even left with plenty of leftovers, which was such a fun bonus for us! Throughout the planning process, they were very easy to communicate with and were highly responsive via email. It was super convenient having them coordinate the table design at their warehouse, including the linens, plateware, and glassware. While the design meeting isn't a "boutique" curated experience, their warehouse has plenty of options to choose from if you already have a general color palette and vibe in mind. On the wedding day, the staff was extremely attentive and brought us hand rolls before cocktail hour even started to ensure we actually got to eat. The live hand roll station was a massive hit with our guests and absolutely delicious. I also appreciated how open they were to our custom cocktails; I provided my own recipe and li hing powder for a pineapple li hing margarita, which they executed perfectly. Cost-wise, this is not a budget vendor and is on the more expensive side. However, the full-service, high-touch planning and day-of experience, from the tastings to the seamless coordination of all design elements, completely justified the price. You truly get what you pay for, and we have no regrets. If food is a top priority for your wedding, we highly recommend Michi's. Their expertise made our day so special, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!

We sent multiple messages and voicemails that went unreturned for several days. Just as we were getting ready to change plans and look for a different vendor, we heard back (they had been out on vacation). We decided to still give them a try. (Note: the owner response below suggests that they responded within 24 hours, but that doesn't match our experience - I think this misunderstanding is due to the fact that two of us coordinating the event had reached out to the Market . My initial inquiry submitted on their website went unanswered, and so a couple days later my colleague tried to call and left a voicemail. Eventually my colleague was able to connect with them to place an order. I actually never received any response by phone or email.) The food arrived on time, but the delivery team forgot part of our order. We tried calling both of numbers on the invoice associated with the Market, but they both went right to voicemail. We eventually got a hold of the delivery team and received our missing item halfway through our event. The portions we received were very small compared to the description. For example, "32 tea sandwiches" seems like 4-5 normal sandwiches sliced into 6ths - wild to pay $2.25 for each tiny sandwich slice. The quality of the ingredients seemed mediocre for the price (e.g. the bread seemed like basic bagged sandwich bread, sliced into uneven rectangles). The chicken skewers - the most expensive item we got - were surprisingly small. "Watermelon feta skewers bites" were about a third green olives (not listed in the description) which our guests found unappetizing - we would not have ordered this item if that ingredient had been disclosed. Salad was 99% plain mixed greens (the amount we received runs about $6.99 retail for organic mix at a specialty store). On the whole, most things seemed like we could have gotten similar-or-better quality items for a quarter of the price through Whole Foods. The plating for items was nothing special - again, supermarket take-away platters look about the same. It's really hard to justify the price we paid for the items we received. All in all, we found the service, food quality, and presentation to be unimpressive and overpriced, and the communication/delivery snafus made our event prep more stressful. Perhaps we caught them on an off day, but we were expecting more given the glowing Yelp reviews. Based on the experience we had, we'd recommend working with a different caterer.
