Cali Chicken Parm is my fav sandwich there - the sourdough is delicious and crunchy, it's warm and hot pressed with gooey mozzarella cheese, and the marinara sauce is savory and delicious. The sun-dried tomato added a little bit of sweetness. Love how avocado and bacon are included in this one. Turkey Melt - 4/5 - Classic combo but was more bland than the previous sandwich. Great staple shop in downtown Burlingame when you're craving a sandwich. I ordered the tuna melt and it was delicious. It took a bit to receive my order as I went during lunch time but the staff were kind and patient about it. There's only a couple tables inside and out. As someone who worked in food for almost 10 years, (with a makeline visible to customers) I am unfortunately hyper aware of cleanliness and customer service. I witnessed the person making sandwiches on his cell phone on the makeline, he put gloves on before touching the food but 1. A cell phone has sooooo many germs and 2. Putting gloves on without washing your hands first is counterproductive from a hygiene standpoint. Any bacteria on unwashed hands just transfers onto the gloves. I think it is unprofessional to use your cell phone while customers are waiting, and unhygienic to not perform proper hand washing before food handling. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I'm always looking for a thanksgiving sandwich with all the fixings (like stuffing) instead of just a turkey cranberry sandwich so CJ's caught my attention. And indeed, it didn't disappoint! I got it on Dutch crunch and the sandwich came out slightly warm and toasted. The stuffing had great flavor that came through despite being covered by a ton of other toppings. I could've used more cranberry sauce to give it that sweet component but overall 4/5 for a solid thanksgiving sandwich. My friend also got the chicken lickin sandwich and that was just ok. I added red onions at no extra cost! Was the sandwich the size of a firstborn - no but it was a good size for lunch without food coma (the size of my forearm) And the bread....PERFECTLY crunched, you can definitely do the ASMR with it. It was hot, it was melty, it was pressed! The portion of the ingredients were balanced, not really too much of one or the other and the chicken was sliced pieces so its not one whole breast. The ranch was not super creamy thick so it didnt overpower the cheese. I enjoyed it very much. The sandwich can surely be split between two people and is the perfect amount of full to still get a boba or drink afterwards. Prices are reasonable and nothing outrageous. WOW! What a treat it was to find this deli! My boyfriend and I were in Downtown Burlingame to shop around the stores. For an afternoon snack, we decided to split a West Coast Reuben and it was the perfect portion for the two of us. I am normally not a huge fan of sauerkraut, but I REALLY liked it in this sandwich! It added a nice crisp and sour balance to the pastrami and cheese. I was also impressed by the pastrami-- it wasn't too salty or too peppery.
