My husband and I have been ordering regularly from this company for many years. They make mistakes from time to time and offer a credit to make up for it. That is their policy... They take a little longer to get the product to you, just as with other companies like Mt. Rose Herbs for example. However, 9 times out of 10 the product is the purest (unadulterated) and freshest available. I truly believe there is a preponderance of unfair reviews here and I hope they fail to deter folks from giving this company a chance. I'm so sorry for all the terrible reviews. I can only think that the family must have been going through some hardships at the time for this to happen. Been shopping with these guys for over 14 years? Have rarely had issues with them. Once they accidentally sent my package to an old address even though I'd updated it during the purchase process. They did not want to refund me even though my package went missing because of it. That was the only major issue I've ever had with them. Matt is not a perfect guy, but his hearts in the right place. I truly believe he tries hard to be a genuine source of good in the world. I've rarely been disappointed with any products or food he's sent me. Last years cherry juice powder became hard as a brick within a month and they agreed to credit my next order which I'm attempting to do now. I would have preferred a refund but let that go, as I do always come back to them. Matt goes over and above with product quality. People have unrealistic expectations of perfection from thier human counterparts! People make mistakes, have personal lives/problems and emotions to manage. I'm stunned that there are so many bad reviews here for them. If they ever begin disappointing me to the point where I feel they deserve to be ravaged here, I'll let you know. ZERO customer service... no email confirmation, no reply to two emails and two phone calls asking for a refund. I ordered three boxes of "at cost" items ($4.41 for each TINY box of freeze dried veggie snacks). The content was rancid, tasted like cardboard, and felt like wet leather.... very OLD!! I ordered dried Turkish figs, dried persimmons, they are really dry, the figs are hard and sour, they bite my tongue, horrible, horrible! After trying one, I just can't eat another. I also bought organic Brazil nuts, they are dry, stale, and tasteless, those in Trader Joe's are much better and cheaper. Their Hazel Nuts are also stale, tasteless. This company sells the most inferior products I have ever bought online. I ended up throwing them all out. I sent an email complaining, never heard a word from them. Me and my wife went to the raw food world retreat for Christmas and it was the worst experience we'very ever had at a retreat center. There was very little care for the guests. Matt Monarch has one of the biggest egos I've ever seen, only second to his partner Romeo who runs the sweat lodge and organizes the San pedro ceremony. Romeo was going around telling everyone they had parasites and even told the raw food chef she was a parasite! I highly recommend not going to this retreat center or buying anything from the raw food company. I know I won't and I wish we'do been warned before we made the mistake of going. Half of the guests including me and my wife left halfway into the retreat because we were so appalled by the treatment we recieved. They accepted and confirmed my order and my payment on Jan 10th, 2016. By Jan 31 it had not received the shipment and I had not received any tracking number. I sent them a reminder by email; they said it had not even been shipped yet. They said they were sorry and "will get back to you tomorrow regarding this! Either with a tracking number or a solution to the problem!" I did not receive any update from them since and now is Feb 2nd. I was not my first order. In December of 2017 I ordered a case of one product. At that time, I could not reach any customer service people to help with questions I had about my first time order. I left a few messages and sent a couple emails and the company didn't respond. I gave them the benefit of doubt considering the holidays and all and went ahead placing the order. A month later the case finally came with the wrong product. It took several emails and phone calls to reach a person to speak to about their mistake. They told me they didn't have the product I ordered so they made an "on the spot" call to substitute the product I ordered for another. I said that was unacceptable and I didn't want the product they sent me. They said I could wait for the product I wanted to come in and they would exchange. They said they hoped the product might be in stock in about 6-8 weeks. I said that was unacceptable. They had $80.00 of my money for a product their website store said was in stock and now they want me to wait up to 8 weeks and hope the product comes in for stock. I said I wanted to return the case I had in error for a refund. During the one time I spoke to this one human being he said they would email me a return shipping label and once the product was received they would issue my refund. It took them an entire month to get me a proper return label for Fedex....many emails and phone calls unanaswered during the time I waited for a proper label. Finally upon returning the product and seeing via my tracking number they received the product on March 2, it took me a dozen more more pone calls and emails to ask why I had not been issued my refund as of March 12, ten days later. They do not answer phone calls or emails. They do not fill orders properly. They decide on their own what substitutes to mail you. They do not communicate at all like a normal business company and their lack of responses leaves me feeling like someone has a garage full of grocery items they thought would be "so cool" to sell on line but maybe the reality of responsibility was just not so appealing to these people. Very frustrating and difficult company to deal with - not AT ALL worth the trouble. read more

One of a kind products that you can't find anywhere else in the world. If they close, good luck finding them. I appears their website is down as of this writing. Matt has some incredible, rare, healthy products but the online reviews killed this business or maybe it was an FDA issue. Small businesses are usually understaffed and sometimes they go through growing pains. Sorry some had a bad experience with customer service. But I must say the products were amazing. Placed an order for $177 & received NO order confirmation email. Called & left messages during business hours, NO calls back. Four days later I notice that my card was charged, but still no email or calls back from numerous attempts via both email & phone. Finally, 18 days later, I get an order confirmation email, but with an old address they had in their records & not the one entered when placing the order. Immediately sent a reply email (& called leaving message) correcting the address, still no reply. 24 days later, still nothing. Will be contacting my card issuer to get a refund. Worst customer service manager! Be-aware of what you may have to deal with. He should frankly be fired for how rude and dismissive and offensive and unprofessional he behaved on the phone, before insisting I never order from them again. After calling for the third time to get a refund on a purchase that had already been approved of by them weeks ago, the guy gave me attitude for asking for a refund, after they had told me on two previous calls that they would refund my purchase as soon as I got off the phone with them, but never did. I asked them why they keep lying and changing their story about the refund, and I asked them to please send me an email confirmation today that it would be refunded so I wouldn't have to call back again, and they then told me that they would refund me "tomorrow," and to "please don't order from us anymore," when I have been ordering from them for a while. Then, I asked them I would like to get it done today, because that's what they told me last time, then he said, "Oh, so you have more to say?" He really had the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I have never left a 1 star review on yelp before. But this customer service manager was honestly the rudest manager I have ever worked with in my life.
