Hair cuts are good depends who you get. Customer service is horrible. You can sit there for 30 min before you even get acknowledged. If your not friends with one of the barbers plan on waiting a long time. I've been here a couple times but stopped going. Music is NOT family friendly or appropriate for anyone under 18. read more

Called ahead to get an appointment to get my haircut spoke with Fernando and he got me right in at a good time. Sanitizer is right there before you walk in and there for you when you walk out. They are a good professional bunch who knows what they're doing with the clippers. I am really particular about who cuts my hair and I was definitely pleased with the results of the cut and shape up. Prices are standard and the professionalism is A1. The barbers wear masks and gloves and the shop looks pretty clean and they do sanitize equipment such as picks and combs they're gonna use on you beforehand. First off read all the reviews and note that all the bad reviews relate to walk-ins which to say the least puts a toll on the barbers as they are some of the best barbers in Ventura County. My hats off to these gentlemen, every time I have gone they are all busy working their magic with clients. Carrying onto my review.... I have been a loyal client of Brandon (Owner) since this place opened; I had lived in northern Oxnard and this just so happened to be the closest barbershop to me now. So the convenience is what drove me in. I am amazed every time I come I come in for a haircut. Brandon is very skilled and passionate about his work. You can just feel the love he has for such art, and yes art, because not every haircut is the same; he perfects every hair cut he takes on. I have built a schedule of a bi-weekly haircut with Brandon and let me tell you appointments are ENCOURAGED! Every barber is so skilled and talented it is so difficult for them to see you have to wait for whoever is available especially during the weekend which for them the busyness starts Thursday's; however, there is plenty of barbers (13) and Brandon is very good with making sure you are taken in a timely manner if walking-in. They do not forget about you. They offer seating inside to wait and TV's to help keep you at rest whether you are getting a hair cut or patiently waiting for the next magician to work his/her wonder. I am greeted every time I walk in and am made whole with comfort through everyone working I talk to. I feel as if I am at home. Prompt and attentive service was portrayed in every barber. The entire establishment is very immaculate and presents itself very well. I am amazed by the interior design to say the least, wood flooring, black leather stylist chairs and hip, trendy decor. Everything is very clean, thus including, seating area, chairs, walls, windows and floors. Haircut: Perfect every time! I leave the barbershop with a smile every time. I have been complimented on numerous occasions even by barber friends of mine. Brandon is clearly one of the best barbers in Ventura County; I would trust that someone of such high caliber would make certain each barber was at a high standard as well. I, however, would not know since I only see one barber, but guessing on how booked each barber is I am well certain that each barber is very talented. Hospitality: Brandon is keen on making sure every client is welcomed and makes sure they each feel as if they belong there. The staff has such an amazing relationship with one another, I see such brotherhood in law enforcement and it is really nice to see such talented, caring men getting along and having fun while working. If you are looking for a genuine barbershop experience this is the place to come. They build small talk with their clients and if you are the anti-social type they will catch on and leave you alone with a promise to make you look your best. They conform to all haircut styles and if you ask, they will give you their advice on what will look good. Overall my experience here is always nothing but excellent. This is the worst place to walk in to as a female. I walked in to this place to try and get my 4 year old boys haircut on a Friday. Understanding that Fridays are usually super busy for barbers. As I walked in I obviously noticed that the place was busy. I walked in stood at the door and NOT ONE PERSON SAID HELLO. I stood there then sat down. Waited for 10 minutes and again not one person greeted me or asked if I needed help. I was shocked. As a female it is already intimidating walking into a place like this. Already overdue for a haircut, and with my girlfriend coming home after 2 weeks overseas i was at defcon 5 and in dire need of immediate rescue. Complicating matters further, having recently moved I had nowhere to turn. Despite 100 degree heat and hot, dry winds I ignored the weather advisories and headed out. Driving slowly and desperately scanning the urban wilderness, I spied a hopefully familiar red and white striped insignia nestled in a strip mall about 1/2 mile south of the 101 at Oxnard Blvd. Whether it was sheer luck, divine providence or some combination of both, we'll never know, but when I entered The Re-Up Barbershop and Streetwear Emporium, I knew I had found sweet salvation. Unassuming from the outside, it was like stepping into a movie set. Part upscale lounge, part trendy posh shop and all full service haircut emporium. What struck me most was how nice the place looked, soft black leather stylist chairs, richly polished wood floors and other complimentary decor. The three gentlemen on staff , like the store itself. were young, hip, stylish and friendly. I was, in a matter of minutes, I was quickly and professionally transformed (from the ears up) from Albert Einstein to Tom Cruise. I literally walked out looking 100 times better than I did walking in! Oh and did I mention guys, sports on TV! This is my regular place to go for haircuts and line ups (3 to 4 times a month), Brandon is my barber (Great Barber, dude is a genius too). Place is awesome, there is a small streetwear shop in there with known brands and rising brands, I have bought a 5 panel there and gotten a grip of compliments on it. Always dope music playing and a good variety. Just based on being there while getting cut up I can tell that everyone there is respectful and they put an effort in to keep the shop looking clean when they aren't busy, and the people without appointments (aka idiots) cut up as soon as possible. Best times I've seen to go are anytime from like Tuesday to Thursday. If you want to get in on the weekend, just call like the day before and you'll be set. If you are thinking about changing barbers, give this place a chance and you'll be here for life. Almost forgot about the best part of this shop. They accept debit and credit as payment!! No other Barber Shop I have been to does this (except supercuts before I knew any better lol) and it used to be so annoying to have to drive to an ATM to get cash! You can leave a tip on your card as well. This kind of stuff (being able to use your card and not being charged) should be expected at ANY shop. I came in on a lucky day because we walked on and sat in a chair immediately. I've been here a few times before for my son and nephew and the guys just looked at us as we sat there waiting. Most people didnt know if they were going to get in a chair or not but I ended up leaving. This time they guy in the second chair from the back on the right side did a great job on my sons taper and was patient with him. I highly reccommend this babershop. I've been taking my son here his whole life (6 years) with Rolando! He makes it very easy to schedule an appointment and always provides the best service, treats us like family! As for all the other barbers, they are very friendly and respectful! Every time we are there you can feel the positive energy; they interact with customers, always conversating and laughing, they always have a couple tvs on for entertainment and/or pleasant music is playing. My favorite thing to see is when someone leaves the shop whether it's a customer or barber they shake all the barbers' hand before walking out. They say they take walk-ins but they really don't have a list or a way to keep track of how many walk-ins are coming in it's just kind of first-come-first-serve and you have to remember where you are in line. They also don't have a general estimate time they could tell you so we ended up waiting here an hour to get a haircut. If I knew the wait would have been an I would have come back another time or made an appointment. I completely understand that appointments are the way to go however you should not be advertising walk in when you don't have a system to properly track an estimate time for walk-ins. At minimum q sign in sheet. It's not that complicated and it's not rocket science. This is not my regular Barbershop and I will definitely not be coming back here. let me rephrase that I would not come back here as a walk-in. I would suggest that the business owner create a system to actually track an estimate time for walk-ins if they have a big sign on the door that says walk-ins welcome - like most other barber shops or salons do. By the way look at other one star reviews for this place. They all complain about the same thing so obviously this business does not take walk-in seriously. I recommend you stay clear of this place if you are a walk in and not an appointment. Busy places in general do usually required an appointment to get service in the other post complained about and I personally like how the appointments "allows getting a haircut in a more timely fashion".
