There were no guest services, no machines were working to buy credits, no cost check. By the time we were able to find somebody it was 4pm and they said it's okay since we still have an hour to play. However, they shut down the game machines by 4:35PM! I spoke to the manager too but they didn't do anything about it and told us to leave. Ruined my Christmas! Terrible service, has been a favourite restaurant and hangout many times in the past but the service received most recently guarantees that I won't be returning. Initially, we sat at the bar and waited to be greeted for about 15-20mins, which is fine on a busy Friday evening. However, a gentleman approached the bar after us and within seconds was greeted and offered a refill of his beverage. The staff then acknowledged myself and my partner and in a hurry asked us if we wanted anything. She returned to follow up with our food order and we waited for about 30minutes for our food to arrive. We finally decided it was time to play some games and asked for the bill as we had not received any updates on the food ordered. The staff then brought us the bill with the food she had not served us charged and we pointed out that the nachos were on the bill, she then responded that she had taken the $5 discount off of the nachos (clearly not even listening to our concerns) and so we reiterated we had not received the food and would like it taken off the bill. She rectified this and after a less than stellar dining experience we figured we would redeem the night with games. We inquired with a staff member on the floor about axe throwing. The staff said it was closed, so we asked what the hours were, to which he responded "uhhh, it's like 2 hours before close." At this time it was 10pm and they were closing at 1:00am so of course this information was confusing so I said I would ask the front desk for clarification. As we were walking to the desk, the gentleman we were just speaking with went on his walkie talkie and advised his coworkers that a couple just inquired about axe throwing and he advised to tell us that it was closed. As we approached another employee we heard this message over the walkie talkies and questioned the staff as to what was going on? The staff walked away without responding, we then addressed another staff and asked to speak with the manager. The gentleman we addressed advised us that he was in fact the manager so I expressed my confusion and concern at being given a run around and asked him to clarify what the hours of operation were. He explained that they typically offered axe throwing until an hour before closing and he then said he knew exactly which staff we were referring to that displayed unprofessionalism towards us, and he said he would follow up with that staff member. Then, an older gentleman who introduced himself as "Nick" came out from the back office and stated that he was the manager and that any of his staff have the right to refuse patrons from using the axe throwing if "they don't feel comfortable being trapped in a cage with you and a sharp object." So this led to us questioning why we were that it was closed instead of just advising that it wasn't available, or if you drink alcohol from their establishment that may impact your ability to participate in axe throwing. Originally this manager stated we were unable to participate in axe throwing but could enjoy the games. Then he advised that he would not talk to us if we were being aggressive, we were obviously frustrated and anyone would be after the experiences we had, which he had absolutely no patience, compassion or understanding for as a "manager." He continued to defend the staff member without acknowledging the inappropriateness of his behaviour directly in front of customers. We asked him to follow up with the "manager" we had just previously spoken with who was about 20 years younger and had more professionalism than this manager Nick did. He said that staff had left for the evening so he wouldn't be able to follow up that night. Then we asked why when asking to speak to the manager initially, we were told we were speaking to a manager and then Nick advised that wasn't the manager and he was... so we asked how as paying customer we are supposed to feel when concerns aren't taken seriously and we are given 3 different answers to one question. Nick then advised that we would be escorted out of the establishment and handed us a business card. In summary, with all the additions of arcades and entertainment to London, Ontario recently, we chose the rec room as we had loyally been fans of it since opening. However, this evening was a clear indication that it is time to explore new places like 100 Kellogg Lane and Tilt where you can play all games for one price and receive service from people that appreciate your business in these trying economic times. read more

The first time I went here my dining experience wasn't the greatest. I went last night for a New Year's Eve party last night and I was quite pleased with how everything was different from the last time I went. The quality of the meal I had was a different from my first time. Plus all the games are fun to play as well. I'll definitely return for dinner in the future. read more

Went out for the evening with friends. Friendly and efficient isn't staff. Started off with their Caesar Very well done and loved the different garnishes which included part of hard boiled eggs, salami slice etc. we tried a few different appetizers which included falafel lettuce wraps and chicken bites. The lettuce wraps were interesting choice. Nice combination of flavors. The chicken bites were also good but nothing out of the ordinary. I tried the Cobb salad. I have to admit it was one of the better Cobb salads I've had in Canada. Usually the USA does an awesome job. Overall great experience. read more

The Rec Room has taken all things millennials love and created a giant fun house to place it all in. This place is an Instagram worthy, tinder-date haven for all. Of course, the rest of family is welcome too if they want! The restaurant, Three10, has all the comfort foods of your childhood - a few different kinds of mac and cheese, burgers, heck - even devilled eggs! We shared a pepperoni pizza (wood-fired, you can smell the logs burning in the back) and the crab and artichoke dip. Both were delicious. The pizza doesn't look like anything amazing but everything about it is delicious from the fresh tomato sauce to the deli inspired pepperoni on top. The dip came with some crusty bread but also some charred broccoli. Super yummy! There's lots of beer on tap and unique tastes available in cans and bottles. The Rec Room mule was delicious with robust ginger beer that tickles your throat and a dash of pepper for a different kind of spice. I had the Canadian mojito but found it to be a bit lacklustre. It just tasted like gin and soda with little bits of raspberries floating around. Oh well! Crafted cocktails ranged from $9 to $12.50. The staff here looked very young and it was clear there are some kinks to be worked out but we had a lovely meal nonetheless! The restaurant area has two side rooms that can be curtained off. 'The Hall' is the music venue with a stage. They host events like live band karaoke and Motown dj nights. They had a band performing the best of the 90s which played on all the speakers so you didn't have to stray away from your video games to tune in. The rest of the venue is stuffed with things to do! I loved that they had 'The Shed' which is a cafeteria style spot where you can fetch a beer, an artisan donut, or even poutine - all on the go. There's a VR station, axe throwing, ping pong, and all the arcade games you could want. This is a paradise for those who want all the fun of those cool hip spots around town, all in one place. It will be an expensive night if you want to participate. It's a mini Las Vegas, but instead of winning money, you get to win a bag full of candy or, if your lucky, a Michael Kors purse!? The prizes in this place are not the average you'd expect. From branded housewares to hover boards, to expensive purses, you can win some serious prizes. You receive an RFID tag to scan at each game and your points are collected on it. Keep it for next time so you don't have to pay the $2-$5 for a new one. I won't give away the game that gave me the most points, that secret stays with me! It's easy to create a giant mecca like this with Cineplex behind it. The Rec Room is well worth a visit, but I will say - there are plenty of amazing places in #ldnont that are more affordable, and locally run. But hey, you do you, as long as your having fun, I'm happy! read more

I recently celebrated my 25th birthday at The Rec Room and it was an awesome time. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and the games were beyond fun. From playing Alien Shooter with my sister to Typhoon with my mom, I will most definitely be going back again for either a family outing or just for a little fun. A decent place for a good time with some friends or your loved one. Came here during dinner and spent close to 4 hours having fun. Dinner wasn't that bad of price. Moderate to high pricing depending on if you purchase alcohol. We spent around 19-30 dollars each for dinner. We then decided to play some games and spent about 25-30 dollars in games. Based off time spent having fun and dinner, came to about a 100- 120 dollar evening. Quite personally I think that's a decent amount spent on dinner and fun afterwards. We took up a fun 4 hours of time and afterwards I was satisfied with the place. It's basically like a smaller Dave and Busters. If you think about it, a normal evening at dinner and movies would be the same price so value wise was about the same. read more

First time at the Rec Room! I was super excited for London to get a really great place like this! Had dinner at the main restaurant with two friends, I had a margarita pizza, it was good, not great, needed more basil. My friend had a roasted veggie wrap - she has celiac and they made it in a lettuce wrap instead of a tortilla and she said it was super flavourful and she was surprised. They also have a dedicated gluten free fryer so she could have French fries. The last person had the calamari and the beet salad and said it was really good. We all had drinks, they were tasty and strong! After dinner we were off to play some video games, had a lot of fun, our waiter suggested Mario kart so we made sure to play that and it was a blast. Overall great experience. I will say it's not cheap, so definitely not something I could do too frequently, but it was fun to get out, play games, and just have fun. read more

Every item on their menu was microwaved. Food is literally cold when it comes to the table and no joke, the French fries were somehow worse than any other experience here. $15 for a watered down drink. The service is also incredibly slow, which is maybe why all the food is ice cold. When you tell the servers/management about your disappointment, they respectfully listen, but you know they know how sh*t this place is. Heading into the bathrooms because you probably have food poisoning, horror crosses you mind as their is no toilet paper or hand soup - best of luck to you. Accept it for what it is...a place to have fun. The restaurant has slow service and aside from the delicious pretzel, the food is average at best though they do attempt to make it seem a bit fancy. Great fun in the arcade, Ordered poutine from the restaurant 8 bucks for a small. The cashier showed the size of the container and I was ok with it. Problem is the container was not filled with fries. It was actually only half full. I looked at another customers poutine and it was the same way. Fill the damn container with fires please. I had our company Christmas party here in December. We booked axe throwing for 525$ from 7pm - 8pm. Our party arrived at 6:45 but no member of staff was available to take us to axe throwing until 7:40. So we got 20 minutes of Axe throwing for 525$. They said they couldn't change the price because we had a contract. When I said that didn't sound right they said they would certainly give a refund, but the next day, after we paid. So the next day they said the manager I spoke to made a mistake and they can't give a refund, but would happily give an hour of free axe throwing. Then when I asked about when we could do that they did not get back to me. Ever. Paying 525$ for an hour of axe throwing when the Rec Room didn't allow us to start until 7:40 (and then the waiver signing time) is one thing, but lying and deceiving me about how to make it up so you get payment and then not following through is terrible. While visiting the city from 6 hours away, a group I was with pre-booked dinner reservations after a team challenge we had in the arcade area. We were assigned 1 staff member for our group of 21. After waiting over 90 minutes for any food to come to our table, when it did arrive there were multiple wrong orders and cold plates. One of our group members asked to speak to someone and was met with the "manager" who was completely unprofessional, swearing and yelling at our friend. None of the issues were dealt with and the "manager" sent a member of the kitchen staff to come to our table and tell us we were liars and that our food wasn't cold and we were making it up. Most of us ate our meals as we were completely ravenous even though they were incomplete or cold. The whole experience was terrible and was not at all handled properly or professionally in any way. Beware of the restaurant side of this business. The arcade was however awesome, just don't eat there. read more

Drinks were good and the atmosphere was even better. What an awesome concept arcade/games room/restaurant all in one place. We came in for some drinks after a day of shopping at Masonville Mall and we were not disappointed! Our bartender Julia was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. We had the Rec Room Caesar which is a great twist on the classic Caesar. We will for sure be back due to this great service and the atmosphere at the Rec Room and of course to try out the games! read more

Went to the Rec Room tonight with 3 friends and sat down to eat. After waiting about half an hour in an almost empty dining room for the waitress to come to our table and greet us... When we asked about their beer brands she had to go to ask the bar tender 3 separate times and couldn't even name a single brand when asked. Then we proceeded to wait another half hour for 2 appetizers and not once did the waitress ask how we were doing and instead was just dancing and singing in the empty dining room, avoiding even looking at her section. So after having to track her down for the bill since she never came back, it totalled almost an hour and a half for just 2 apps. On top of that the waitress was so snippy and clearly was more focused on socializing with her coworkers. Having been a server for 10 years before my career I was shocked at the attitude and all four of us agreed that if we ever acted like this at our jobs we wouldn't have one. Had I received even mediocre service, instead of annoyed we were there it would have been more enjoyable. It actually made us feel quite uncomfortable. It's unfortunate because I normally leave a 50% tip, 25% at the very least. I've never given such a low tip, ever.. What a terrible way to celebrate our completion of a college program read more
