I went to Red Carpet Studio for a quick weave with a closure. A very simple hair style, but it took over five hours. I asked if they could color my closure and the stylist got upset because I didn't ask before I came to my appointment. After she reluctantly agreed she stated they only have two colors in their shop, brown and red. I agreed to the brown color. As she's finishing up with my weave, she starts with gluing the front portion of the lace and the lace was never laid down properly. She had a slight attitude every time I ask her to fix anything. The next morning my lace was lifted. I will never go back again. I wish these lady success in the future and would ask them to remember one thing, do not let a customer leave Unsatisfied with your service. read more

She was so rude to me when she finally arrived for my appointment in the shop that we ended up in a shouting match. Oh course my hair didn't get done. The lack of professionalism is staggering! Two weeks ago I messaged the salon and the owner replied with the price for a trim at $25 and told me to book online. I tried but a trim was listed at $20 so I wasn't sure if that was the same thing, and that I was coming in tomorrow (Monday). I can't book for Monday, but since they're allegedly open Mondays and say "walk-in welcome" I show up during the posted hours on the door and no one is there. I message the owner, she replies that Sundays and Mondays are by appointment only. You think that would have been mentioned in the damn conversation we had the day before. I gave them a second chance, booked online that Wednesday for Monday April 30th and then messaged the owner because they had me arriving at noon for two French braids with Christy Lynn and 12:45 for a trim with RJ. Obviously, that's not going to work. When I didn't receive a reply, I just scheduled the trim with RJ for that Monday at 10:00am. I get an email confirmation, show up at 9:45, walk in the door and am asked if I have an appointment, at what time and with who. I answer and the woman replied, "see the thing is I'm about to walk out the door." Fair, I wait outside. 9:55 comes and goes, 10, 10:05, 10:15, I call and leave a message. I have yet to receive a response. I'm a mother of two six-month-old twin boys and my husband and I have Sundays and Mondays off together and that's it. Instead of getting a quick trim and spending time with my family I was running around trying to find another stylist at the last minute. #%*^ the owner for being so disrespectful towards my time. read more

Loved the guy who did my hair ! I got a deep conditioner and straightening done . I get really nervous going to salons since I have mixed texture hair but this guy really knew what he was doing . Creamy crack fix is all I can say!! But no really I just moved to the area and realized its been 5 long months since I've relaxed and 1 yr since a trim . in an effort not to go completely balled I called around looked up some yelp reviews and did not like my choices. Some of the salons mostly focussed on weaves and or natural hair the major salons didn't seem to have any stylist that could focus on black folk . at last I called Red Carpet Hair Nicole was so sweet I told her my worries and she said not a problem. In my fear I went in knowing a stranger was going yo relax my hair and trim or would it be a burn and a cut ... Y'all know how some do. Well she was so great, my hair was thick, nappy or as you natural people call it "tightly coiled" lol whatever I just didn't want to look like crazy eyes any more from OITNB . I barely felt her part as she relaxed super quickly, my wash was everything,message as my temples well that's what it felt like. She put me in the chair and gently and quickly dried my hair and flat ironed. She trimmed only trimmed my hair is so soft I don't know what she used but its silky and flowing. The other stylist kept me laughing just hearing their conversation and personalities . it was hard to leave my LA stylist but I didn't want to make the drive and im so happy I went today. When you move to a new place especially far from home women we know what's important. Turn on lights, gas , find nearest grocery store but more important find a hairstylist and a manicurest !!! I called yesterday to see if a stylist can remove my hair extensions. My request was accommodated very quickly by stylist Tasha. Tasha was warm, inviting, and made me feel at home. I did not request any other services at that time, however, Tasha offered to wash and condition my natural hair after removing it ( for free )!!!!! That was very nice. This hair salon is the best hands down! I've gotten my hair braided at two different places and I was so unhappy. I have a blunt bob haircut and I'm trying to grow it out so I've been resorting to doing braids every so often to avoid applying heat since I have thick curly hair. My hair stylist did two Dutch braids and I haven't had one hair out of place! When I got my hair braided at the other places, my braids were literally becoming undone the day I got them braided, and they would always use the excuse that it was because my hair was blunt cut. Well this hair stylist managed to make it work, and my hair looks bomb! Oh and the best part is they only charged me $10 more than what the other places charged me! So worth it. If you're looking to get good braids that need to come here! Everyone who works there is extremely talented and they do beautiful styles. Definitely recommend and will be back! Their yelp reviews and website were impressive, but it was definitely the worst hair salon experience! Unlike their website, there was no champagne offered and the interior and furniture were a worn out 80's shabby chic. The hairstylist greeted and guided you to his/her work station. However, as soon as my stylist began. He never gave me a consultation prior to doing my hair. He was a cocky, rude,and a vapid little man. I believe his name was RJ or some shortened name like that. During my hairstyling, he refused to let me look in the mirror to watch him style my hair. I was forced to look out the front window of the store that overlooked the parking lot. I wanted him to use the Marsal flat iron and he refused. He told me that he uses a combination of hot comb and electric flat iron and I will like my hair once it was done. Well, I didn't like how my hair turned out. He said he had 10 years experience, but my hair style turned out more like a first year Beauty School student. It was not what I wanted. I paid for a subpar and overpricec hairstyle. I left unhappy and disappointed in the service I had endured. So, I will yelp "never again"! Don't waste your time or money. Last, word of advice...just because the yelp gives good reviews, it is not always true! In this case,two thumbs down! read more
