    Finnomenal Waffles

The food was great and the service was attentive. Loved my Finnomenal waffles. I gave it 4 stars because in order to enter the building we had to navigate a gauntlet of spiders and their webs.

Pretty good, well priced diner food, would go again Had the irish coffee to drink, tasted like it was made with Bailey's rather than Irish whiskey, but it was still pretty tasty The chicken and waffles were tasty but a bit heavy. Rather than syrup there was some sort of maple gravy (?) on top. It tasted a bit like caramel apples of all things. It was okay but certainly not southern style The hash was pretty good too, eggs cooked nicely and the avocado looked fresh. Toast and bacon on the side were both cooked nicely as well Service was polite and quick, checked in and refilled coffee when needed. The building is small but cozy, not dirty at all, felt like a typical American diner. Will go again!

Two years open and they're still making great food with caring service. Family owned. The menu changes periodically with specials. Truly a huge asset to Northeastern Michigan. See my past reviews. They just keep dishing out great food.

A glass of water big enough for a toddler

There were two of us. We arrived just before 10am for a simple breakfast. We barely got it in time for lunch. There were only 3 other tables with people. 2 of which belonged to the other waitress. We were unlucky enough to get the older cranky waitress whose greeting and smile were as fake as the giant faded rooster out front. We were told to sit anywhere we liked but then sat there for about 7 minutes before our unpleasant waitress even came over to ask what we wanted to drink. 6 or 7 more minutes went by and we get only 1/2 of our drink order. The other half took another 5 minutes. Who would have thought 10 minutes to get OJ and water. Which btw a glass of water is a joke to them (see pic below). When she finally brought all our drinks she left for another 5 minutes or more before she could be bothered to take our order. With the order places we sat there for another 20 minutes waiting for simple pancakes and an omelette, while we watched other tables who came in after us get served. Luckily they had the younger waitress who seemed to be on top of things. . Once the food arrived, everything looked wonderful....looks are deceiving. The blueberry pancakes while looked like they were cooked to golden perfection turned out to have hard outer shells and gummy insides. I guess you could consider them cooked. Just not a good recipe. The meat lovers omelette was flatter than the pancakes and barely had any filling. Although he said it tasted good. We never saw the waitress again, not even to get a refills on coffee until we had had enough of waiting and were ready to leave. We asked for a box for what was left of the omelette.... I had no desire to take what was left of the pancakes home, and had to sit and wait for another at least 5 minutes because once again she disappeared, then walked by and forgot we wanted a box. when she came back with the box she then forgot the bill. We waited another 5 or more and finally had enough. We walked ourselves up to the counter and asked for our bill so we could leave. During this whole time we watched one other table get up and leave also while waiting to have their order taken. Will never go back!

Really nice bar/restaurant. The food is what you would expect if ordering from a bar "but more"…read more Nice selection of food choices where the quality of the food is quite good where the price will not break the bank. For my first meal here I got the 1/2 lb barbecue bacon cheese burger and chips. Burger qualified as a two hander for sure where the meat was well cooked, very juicy and with nice taste. No overcooked dry burger here. The house wine I ordered was a smooth daily drinker for $5.50 which I could drink all day long. Relative to staff and the facility, this Bar fits the perception of what you think of when thinking of your stereotypical "Up North" bar. Wood on the wall, wood on the ceiling with log beams, Wood accents everywhere to include a live edge wood counter top with log structure in the middle of the bar adjacent to the pool table. Even though it has this rustic design it is a very clean and inviting on the inside adding so much to the overall dining experience. Nice! Aside from the rustic decor, there are quite a few TV's located throughout the bar/restaurant making this a nice place to go for a bite to eat while watching the big game. Relative to staff, very friendly and prompt with good follow up and clearly another strength of this business. Overall, good food at a fair price with a nice casual ambiance is hard to beat, especially on game day. If you are in the greater Oscoda area this is definately a restaurant that should be checked out. There are not that many restaurants in this area that offer you the quality and value for a meal that this business does.

We've been wanting to try this place for some time but they are often full. We got early…read morereservations (parties of 6 or more only) and arrived on time to our table all ready. There are two sides - the bar side and a side with lots of seating. The bar side has seating as well but minimal. We sat on the side with all the seating at a long high top. The chairs had backs so it was very comfortable. They have lots of choices on the menu - I chose the Lemon Herb Ravioli, which sounded light and amazing. Unfortunately, it is swimming in a lemon-y olive oil which ruins the dish completely. If they just drizzled the lemon oil over the pasta, it would be a chef's kiss. I would recommend asking for that on the side - then you can control how much you want on the dish. I also got their "tots" on the side. These aren't your typical tator tots...they are homemade shredded potatoes scooped and fried. My cousin got the same items and when the tots came, it appeared they overly fried one of the orders so just split them up between our two orders. I ate the good ones and my husband sent back the bad ones to have them replaced. They did so without any question, which was nice. My husband had the Gouda Burger with Truffle Fries. He said it was the best burger he'd ever had. The truffle fries were excellent - served with garlic aioli. Highly recommend! So, while my dish was disappointing due to the amount of oil it was swimming in, the pasta and vegees on top tasted good, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and everyone else liked their meals (burgers and fish & chips) so I'm not going to give them a low rating. I'd like to come back and try something different on the menu.
