On a cold morning in Michigan I stepped in here to grab a nice hot cup of coffee. I normally always go for something iced, but when it's single digit temps out there, I go with hot. They have seasonal syrups, but they do not offer seasonal drink specials. That's no problem! I asked the barista what he would recommend with their house made ginger molasses syrup and he made me a latte. I appreciated that it wasn't just some sugar bomb, this coffee had character. The ginger comes through the coffee and it really was very enjoyable. The place has a few tables and it was busy for this frigid morning. Cool spot, good coffee!

The staff were very friendly, and the service was quick. I have only had the cortado, which I would give a 9.2/10 espresso rating

First visit to Red Hook, and we had such a delightful time! We didn't try any food this time, but it looked delicious. The service was fast and the people working were so nice! It was pretty busy when we went, but the ambiance was inviting and warm. Would definitely come back again!

Small cafe in Ferndale. I had coffee and a piece of ginger-maple bread (not sure of the actual name). The coffee was very good. The bread was good,as well. A little on the sweet side. The shop had the usual variety of coffee and coffee drinks along with various baked goods. The baked goods looks "fresh made", and some uncommon baked items, like some sort of giant baked rice Krispy thingy. Service was friendly and fast. There is seating inside and outside. Most of the table are for 2 people.

Gotta check out a local chain! There's parking in the lot in the back. You can access the cafe from the front or back of the building. Lots of pastries here! Including vegan options too! I got a cortado with lavender. For some reason it was decent but not my fave. I do want to try a different flavor. Cute place! Not large. No seating inside for now. Lots of plants in there that are thriving! They've got large windows in the front that allow lots of light in.

Although it was warm for a January, it was still a cold morning when a friend and I met up for coffee. Restaurants were still closed for COVID so we checked out the display of pastries and baked goods placed temporarily at the front of the café and placed our order at the takeout window. The line was short and it moved very quickly. With our goodies, we made our way to a nearby bench to catch up with each other while trying to stay warm. Since COVID cases were still increasing, I decided to leave my mask on and eat only when I returned home. It was a good decision since I was able to pop the goodies into the oven for a quick warm up. I had selected the egg biscuit and bacon/cheddar popover for breakfast and a galette for another day. In addition to those items, there were scones, cakes, cookies, and macarons available. I think I saw a cinnamon roll, as well; I am still surprised that I resisted. The egg biscuit was spectacular. That is the only word to describe the tasty, tender and flaky biscuit with the delicious egg topped with a slice of melted white cheddar. The sandwich was so thick I nibbled around it. I am so haunted by how good it was. And even now, several days later, I am still thinking of it. The popover was different from what I expected. Instead of something similar to Yorkshire pudding, this was comparable to a Red Lobster biscuit, but with a soft center, topped with cheddar and bacon. It was small but good. The galette was okay. Filled with mushrooms, sliced small potatoes, and sunflower seeds, it was a flaky, creative lunch treat. I will definitely return - probably earlier than I typically would, especially given the distance from home.

Cute little coffee shop in downtown Ferndale. I had the iced chai tea latte and it was very refreshing. My husband ordered golden milk (mainly because he was intrigued with the name).. he said it was interesting but not sure if he'd get it again.. apparently it had turmeric spice and fresh ground pepper in it? The latte art was beautiful though!

Got an immunity shot (Drought), spearmint tea and a lavender latte. The immunity shot from Drought is intense and potent. Felt a boost of energy from it. It burns a little at the back of the gulp. The spearmint smells nicely and effervescent even though it's just a teabag. The lavender latte doesn't have a strong lavender scent to it, tastes okay. Total $12.23.

I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago and it won't be my last. I got a brewed coffee and an apple scone. The scone was perfectly baked and not too sweet. Eager to try their other baked goods.

There is no Splenda but the brown sugar is good. I hada latte that was good . The Galette was delightful! I ate it so fast i couldn't even take a pic. It's so cute in the inside and lgbtqia+ friendly. The service was fast and friendly. I would go again.

Lemon cake, iced coffee, mocha and banana chocolate malt scone.

Decided to try this place out based on the other reviews. It's a cute, cozy and comfy place. Daughter asked for an iced coffee and lemon cake and enjoyed her choices. Said the cake was very sweet. I opted for a mocha with skim milk and a banana chocolate malt scone. I love scones and this one had a great flavor and was not dry like some can be.

This is closer to a 3.5 star review instead of a straight 3 star review. I came in here for a drink after brunch but prior to going to the AR Workshop. They are a closer to a traditional coffee shop rather then a Starbucks/Coffee Beanery/etc. So if you are going into here looking for name brand type of drinks, this is not the place. They have both regular milk and non cow's based milk which is nice especially if you don't normally drink a lot of cow's milk. I had a hot chocolate with almond milk which was decent but not great. It was not super hot which was on a cold day is what I was looking for. The cool thing about here was that there were gluten free food. I did not try the brownie to know if it was good. I also had the feeling based on how the food was setup, the food changes by the day. It would be interesting to see. I will probably be back given the lack of the "box" coffee drink places in the heart of Ferndale.

The servers are all well trained, and highly professional. The food is fantastic. The menu is the standout; it is very creative and has something for everyone. Let's start with their breakfast. This is probably the best breakfast/brunch place in town. Too bad they're only open weekends for breakfast. Whenever we have family back in town or friends from out of town, this is our go to place. Casual relaxed, friendly with quality food. If you haven't been here for breakfast, I would highly recommend it. The only comment I have is they don't open for breakfast until a little bit later in the morning. Usually, there is a line out out front waiting for them to open. We've had most things on the menu and to be truthful, not one thing has disappointed. Dinner: we don't get here too often for dinner because in my mind, this is our go to breakfast place. Last week we tried it for dinner and again, very pleasantly surprised at the professionalism of the wait staff, the quality of the food, and the overall dining experience. I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.
