We chose the Reef because of a TikTok reel. I didn't realize the igloo had to be requested. I know better next time. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was nicer. Ms. Siyan was quirky extremely pleasant great energy. She was attentive and funny and very accommodating. It was my husbands birthday so she gave him a free dessert which he loved. My husband had the Lobster Pasta and I had the Wagyu Bolognese delicious!!!! We also had coconut shrimp delicious and I had an alcoholic beverage Purple Haze if you like Ginger Beer you will love this drink. There are many seating options indoors and on the deck. The outdoor bar is by the water with great views. The service was fantastic. A manager explained our server was unable to get to us promptly so he would start serving us. He filled the water, took drink orders, explained the specials and took our food order. Our waiter then took over. We had exceptional service from both. The pan seared halibut was the manager's recommendation and was delicious. read more

Thoroughly disappointed in tonight's dinner at The Reef. The execution was abysmal in many regards. I ordered a Negroni and it was not made correctly. I asked if the bartender has ever made a Negroni before and instead of trying to correct it. I was asked if I wanted something else to drink. Our meal consisted of a dozen oysters, clam fritters, and a mixed greens salad for our appetizers. Our entrées were a filet mignon, hot buttered lobster roll, and the Norwegian salmon. My friend enjoyed his filet mignon. The lobster roll was also fine, but the truffle fries that came with it were cold. The waitress was nice enough to have them make some fresh fries. The salmon, which was recommended to be prepared medium, came out well done. It was overcooked and dry. The risotto was OK and the bok choy was a very limp piece of vegetable. The execution of this dish was poor. Our server was nice and relatively inexperienced. A more experienced waitress probably would've handled some things differently. The aesthetic of the restaurant was nice, and the vibe was quiet as there was almost no one else in there. The temperature was extremely uncomfortable. Note that this place has an open wall which leads to the outdoors. The humidity made indoor dining very uncomfortable, and they did not have the air conditioning on. I've eaten here before, and had a better experience. My guess is that the B team was on the schedule tonight. I did not have a good experience. Would I give it another shot? Maybe. The Reef is one of my favorite venues in New Port. Good music, a nice ocean view. The food is delicious and the service is excellent . If you decide to visit, just remember there's not much space for parking . My favorite drink there was the White Sangria, delicious. It is a perfect place for a romantic evening by the ocean. Don't be fooled by the picture of those lobster rolls I promise you they give you one piece of meat per roll. Not worth the money paid over $200 for food worth about $50. This was a very lovely seafood restaurant with an awesome view. You are right on the water! Upon coming, my friend and I split the lobster bisque to start which was flavorful and creamy but skimpy on lobster meat maybe only 2-3 bites. For my main I had the lobster roll, which was extremely fresh. For $35 bucks I feel like I've had rolls with more meat at other restaurants but nonetheless this was still a delicious roll. Had an amazing experience at The Reef this past Saturday night! We rented an igloo, and it was an incredible experience! Magical! Worth every penny to be sitting in that igloo right on the water! They are all decorated so beautifully! The food was delicious, the drinks - outstanding, the location was amazing, but what made the night perfection was the people! Huge shout out to the manager, Kristen, who makes every person feel so welcome when they walk in that front door! She couldn't have treated us more kindly and more genuinely. Our table of 8 ordered SPICY TUNA CRISPY RICE, VINHO VERDE MUSSELS (pass if you are here as we had to send it back), POINT JUDITH CALAMARI and TRUFFLED BURRATA. The team really enjoyed the food as did I minus the mussels that were over cooked. The mussels were also really there in the dish. My entree of NORWEGIAN SALMON was very flavorful and cooked correctly- not overdone. I really enjoyed the risotto a great deal. Our server was a bit rude which was why this is a 3 star and not a 4 star rating. He did have a bit of a problem when we asked if we could split the bill two ways. Came to this restaurant this past weekend and had a great time/meal! When I booked a reservation online, I saw there was going to be live music and it was awesome - the vibe is very summery and fun and this place has a unique menu. The food came out fast and was so good - started off with the Italian flatbread and brussels sprouts chips, and shared a steak entrée for dinner. Finished off with a lava cake (which was just ok - wouldn't get it again) and overall loved our meal. Lots of seating both inside and outside and can fit large/small groups of guests. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because we waited a while to check in to our reservation and there were 4-5 people working the check in booth but only one person with an iPad to check people in, so it was very awkward standing at the check in booth waiting for the workers to notice us and even made awkward eye contact before checking in. read more

Upscale restaurant with a GORGEOUS view! Loved how quiet it was for lunch. Our server knew the menu well and was able to provide great recommendations. I started with the Brussel sprouts and then had the fish tacos with a side salad instead of fries. All was good, however the fish tacos tasted a little fishier than it should have been. Out at Newport for the weekend, wanting to have a unique experience. Find this place on the water that has igloos and good food, so we went here. Server was very friendly, service was prompt and we really enjoyed the igloo experience. Food was really good! The Thai mussels had a strong curry flavor that compliments the briny mussels. The beef carpriccio was beefy, creamy, pickled and the bread was crisp. The shrimp cake was spicy and dense The dishes that were not as great. The stuffed French toast was seasoned well and the potatoes were crispy. The actual French toast wasn't as custardy as I like. Also the sweet cream cheese wasn't very sweet. The desserts were great when combined. The coconut Gelato and flourless cake lead to a creamy, coconut and dark chocolate bite which was rich and decadent. The desserts alone? The coconut Gelato was very much coconut, but the mango center was not. The flourless chocolate cake was very much like fudge, but needed something more than whipped cream to lighten it up. Price was very high, but we had to order as much due to the place putting a minimum on eating in the igloos. For the area, it's a little high but it's not unexpected. Its not a bad option for the area. It's pricy, but the quality is there. Great if you're looking for that picturesque view and good seafood. read more

I've had a few meals here before posting. The location is really nice with water views, great summer spot and in the winter they have pop up igloos to rent. If I could give a 3.5 star rating, I would. Service has always been great and therefore I went up in rating versus down. The food is good, but not quite 4-star for a $$$ rated restaurant depending on what you order. I do recommend the shrimp scampi and the sangria is very good. read more
