I contacted this company in order to get some information about a new/upgraded electric panel (as part of the 'charge ready' program), as they were on the approved Edison list for this service (and they had good reviews on Yelp). The person that I spoke to didn't know anything about the program/service that I requested information about. After telling me that they were an electrical company a couple of times, he told me that someone else would call me back to discuss the work (potentially $4000+ value). I highly recommend working with Reel Electric if you ever need an electrician. We were experiencing issues with loss of power in two of our bedrooms. I created a project on Yelp and inquired with multiple companies about having the issue addressed. Reel Electric was the most affordable and very quick to respond (this was on a Sunday and I was in touch with a rep in a matter of minutes). My review is based on the quick response and their ability to work directly with my tenant. Tenant had a no electricity in their kitchen, Reel Electric got back to me quickly and worked with my property manager to connect to the tenant on their time. There is a $125 service call fee which goes towards the cost of invoice. This does leave you not being able to shop around (because you don't want to lose the $124) so I would call around first to see what other quotes you get before sending someone out who charges service call. The technician replaced a 20 amp breaker and the cost was close to $400. I don't know if that's a reasonable price or not but the work was done in a timely manner and they worked well with my tenant. I don't feel comfortable with this company. First, Luis recommended a panel upgrade from 100 amps to 200 amps. I have a 200 amp panel. That's basic and inspires no confidence in him or the company. Second, Luis wanted to focus on all the things wrong with my panel and wiring. I made the appointment to help solve a specific problem. Third, when I saw your pricing "options" I was floored. Your prices were astronomical with zero breakdown to justify a charge. I feel sorry for customers with blind trust. I could buy a brand new car with the prices quoted. read more

I posted on "What's Up Corona" asking for recommendations pertaining to electrical repairs. A few people recommended The Reel Electric Company. I read a few reviews on Yelp and I decided to give them a call and a few other electrical repair companies. After talking to Juan I decided to schedule an appointment. I cant say enough about Juan and The Reel Electric Company. About a month ago I decided to fix my outdoor lighting in the front and backyard. I was absolutely stumped as to why my lighting wasn't working. The 1st visit focused on the front yard. Juan charges a troubleshooting fee of $125 which goes towards the repairs. I had him install 1 new low voltage transformer and transfer for the existing low voltage transformer to the front yard. He mounting and wired 2 transformers. Juan also installed transformers on the existing GFCI. Problem solved! The 2nd visit also cost me $125 for troubleshooting, which again went to the cost to repair my backyard lighting Juan installed a low voltage transformer and receptacle behind the pool equipment and connected this to the automated controller. He ran low voltage wiring to the light nearest to my pool equipment and ran wiring to a working light to power 2 lights near the back door. I purchased additional outdoor lights from Amazon and Juan graciously installed all 5. Problem solved! All in all, Juan is just a great guy! Honest, easy to talk to, on time and does quality work. I even called him a few times late at night, expecting to leave a voicemail and he picked up and happily answered all my questions regarding the operation of all the new equipment I had installed. I will continue to use Juan for ALL my electrical repair needs! He's the best in the biz! read more

When we started looking for electricians we knew we wanted expertise, professionalism, and fair pricing, but we also wanted to be sure we *liked the people that would be in our home for several days. With Juan and The Reel Electric Company we got everything we'd hope for! Built in 1923, our home is (was!) a Frankenstein mix of wiring - some up to code but most still knob and tube with exposed wire throughout the attic. It was important to have someone who knew what they were doing as there were likely to be some problems to solve along the way. The project was completed on time, on budget, and we are so pleased with the end work. Reel Electric managed the project for us, scheduling the inspection, sending the paperwork ahead of time, finding and scheduling the wall repair, and keeping us in the loop as decisions needed to be made. I was looking for a licensed electrician to install a Tesla Wall Charger in my garage. I found The Reel Electric Company listed as an authorized Tesla equipment installer. I've also seen the company always being mentioned in my neighborhood community Facebook group. Sent them a message via Yelp and told them what I needed done and that I needed a quote. Was messaged right back and told me how much it would be. Asked me to take a picture of my breaker box and scheduled me in for an appointment. All this was done via Yelp message, which was awesome! I messaged a couple of other companies and was hit with the "We need to see it to provide a quote" or "Give us a call" which really turned me off as a potential client since my job request was pretty straight forward. This review is long overdue. My family and I, kept having an electrical issue at our house, to where the lights would keep going out. It became worse, to where during the summer, it would prevent the A/C unit from functioning properly. So hot!! My wife finally let me have it and gave me an ultimatum.
