I'm giving three Stars based on the atmosphere inside and the bartender, I want to see if her name is Jennifer. She was very friendly and very courteous. Me and my friend went in for a quick drink not too long ago. It seems like a really nice location, it wasn't overcrowded and everybody was minding their own business there was plenty of room at the bar so we took a seat. I went here for my first time on a Saturday night and I'm not from the area and I can appreciate that they have quality beer. Most places don't have Belgian beers on tap and I like the fact that they have darts and a pool table. I wish they had more than one pool table but other than that the management is really good. I like that the crowd is more younger but the only downfall is that everyone is kind of in their own group which is not productive towards meeting new people. Overall this is a good place if you're looking for some good beer and a place to shoot some pool and play some darts. Definitely a good experience and I'd come here again. read more

Decided to come here to drink late night on a Sunday (don't judge) with a couple friends after dinner. Found it on yelp of course and it was one of the only places open late on a Sunday night. We were pleasantly surprised! They had darts and a jukebox and foosball table to keep us entertained. Foosball is only 0.50 per game (comes with 8 balls). This place has a private lot and plenty of parking late night sundays lol No food offered here nor hard liquor. Just a cool local spot to watch sports, drink beers, play some games, and meet new people! Will definitely come back if I'm in the area or want to watch a sports game. :) read more

I felt a little uncomfortable walking into the bar when there were just a few people there. A greeting from the staff might have made a difference. After all, it wasn't very busy. Once we ordered our first round, I was good! Lots of yummy beer on tap! We loved that! I had some framboise/ dark craft beer mix and LOVED it! I feel horrible for forgetting the name. Wow. Where do I start with this place? We've been on numerous occasions - during all times of the day and night. We mostly come for the craft beer selection (which is quite impressive), rather than the social scene. I'd have to say that I prefer this place during the day time when its less crowded, music isn't as loud, and you can just hang out. Last time we were here at night, some 30-something year old man was being obnoxious and rude... and turns out that as we were leaving, he got into a fight and got himself stabbed!! We walked out to police everywhere and the guy leaning against a cop car bleeding saying "I have no idea what happened, I was trying to STOP the fight!" mmhmm, sure you were.. Anyways.. Divey but not dirty. Great rotating draft selection, but they keep the expected domestics (bud light, coors light). All the bartenders are pretty awesome and friendly. They also have a variety of beer not on draft that is pretty impressive. Although they don't serve food they allow you to bring in your own. And they usually have specials and deals going on for holidays. There is a wall of dart board machines and a pool table. During football season they open early on Sundays so you can catch morning games, which is awesome. read more

A chill spot. Just started going here about a month-and-a-half ago and so far I've been here almost every weekend. This place is kick back and has an "anyone's welcome" vibe to it. Allot of beers to choose from. A pool table, darts and an iTunes jukebox. The bartenders are cool. Jen is a sweet down to earth gal that seems like she'd still rip your head off with ease. And Bree (if that's how she spells it) is sweet and all smiles (a definite cutie) but also seems to have a sinister side. Darts, Darts, and DARTS. Place is simple, they have a good variety of craft beer and a nice setup of darts. The have seating along the bar, on the outside of the bar, and a few high tables around as well. The bartenders are quick to assist you with your next beer, and the dart boards seem rather new, with a nice "roomy" area to play. read more

I never been here when it was D Backs..or whatever it was called so don't know what to compare it too. Place is pretty open, Have a horse shoe bar that's pretty big, some pub tables along the sides of the place, 1 pool table and 3 dart boards. At the front of the bar they have all their taps. Pretty cool place that's nestled in the corner of Covina. Bar was very spacious and had plenty of seating. Alot of space for the pool table and the dart machines. Had no problem bumping into other people while playing pool. They have a buttload of beer selections. My friends and I tried various of beers from the stouts, double IPAs, ciders, and their sampler boards. All were tasty. Took my husband here (for the first time for both us)the weekend after Valentine's Day for a date night. We really enjoyed it. Wasn't crowded which was great. Drinks are good I got the Michelada& they have darts and a fuse ball table. We played darts and drank, and the whole environment was chill. Also we loved they had more old school music and not really a lot of the new stuff so it was definitely a plus. We would definitely go back for a quick date night or to get some drinks. I love Republic! They're one of the few bars that's open later in this area during the week. They always have a great beer selection and it's okay if you bring in your own food. Bar tenders are friendly and knowledgeable, there's ample parking, good music and various forms of entertainment within. They also have tap take-overs fairly often which is pretty cool. Never thought I'd see Dogfish Head's 120 minute IPA on tap so close to home :B read more

Local Covina dive bar. Beer & wine only! (Their survival fascinates me.) Great selection of craft beers on rotation. I've bartended between Downtown LA to Hollywood to The Valley, so I'm pretty judgmental, lol. Lots of the crafts you'll see in a trendy bar in The City, RePUBlic has. Which is refreshing for this little city. Most Covina dives seem to be full of our elders & Gen-Xers, you'll actually see people in here with vertical IDs. Can't gauge mixing skills, since there is no hard liquor served here. All the beers were well poured - no crazy heads! Prices were all reasonable. Will definitely be back. They've got darts, etc. Side note: A beer pong tourney would be fun here. read more

Pretty good little beer bare here. There are plenty of handles with a well curated rotating selection of beer. There are 4 dart lanes, several TVs playing sports, solid sound system. The layout is dominated by the bar. I don't know if they ever have live music, but it would be hard to imagine where a band might set up. read more

This is a hidden gem in the Covina area. If you're a beer enthusiast, COME HERE!! I came with friends around 10pm on a Saturday and there was a sizable crowd. Their selection is soo extensive; I can't even count the number of beers they had on tap. I tried: - Drake's Jolly Roger - coffee porter. I'm not too learned on porters and stouts so I can't say much besides it had a rich coffee taste and didn't taste like beer at all lol - Stone X Sierra's NXS IPA blend - GET THIS!!! It's hands down one of the BEST IPAs I've ever had. The good people of Stone and Sierra Nevada have teamed together to make this dry-hopped AND barrel-aged IPA blend. It's so amazingly fruity yet finishes with a nice spicy, hoppy bitterness. Loveeeeee - Delirium's Trumens - I've always wanted to try this because of the cool bottling, but it paled in comparison to the IPA Check this place out!! read more

This place is Boo Boo....I came here with my husband and his friend. They have never had Stella so they ordered a pitcher. Which was $16 by the way. I'm the designated drive so I'm not drinking. I took a drink just to take the craving away. Well to my surprise whatever was in that pitcher was not Stella. I talked to the Red Headed bartender which is the one that served us. She swore that it was and when I told her it wasn't and she should taste it she just dismissed me. Oh yeah did I mention that when she served us the pitcher, we didn't even get our glasses with it. I waited about 5 mins and instead she gave another person standing next to me his glasses and his pitcher. The guys was nice enough to give me 2 of his. He said he would let her know. There was nothing real special about this place. The music was way too loud, it was very dirty & the lady bartender was the worst. She looked at all of our IDs for so long that we became so uncomfortable & we didn't want to stay much longer. When we asked her If she wanted to see some sort of back up ID, she rudely answered us. Not to mention, they had no one else working so we had to wait for her to stop flirting with all the other customers before she decided to serve us. This is the new "hipster" spot in the area. Pros: the selection is great. Not your standard beers. Plus they have wines. Cons: the bar tenders will card you multiple times and skip your songs...
