Comments kept getting made about my "cow lick" but I've had bangs consistently throughout my adulthood and a cowlick has never been a problem. The stylist knew I wasn't fully happy with the look, but they are bangs, and you can't add more hair once it's been chopped, so I didn't want to make a scene about something that couldn't be changed. Another stylist stepped in to help as much as she could. I tipped accordingly because I do know that things happen. I wasn't even going to leave a comment until I got home and looked in the mirror and when I pushed the hair to my shoulders, it was all uneven length and flipping out like a 90s retro look. Looking at the ends, it is clear that the chop was not done evenly.

I had the most incredible 60 minute deep tissue massage with Courtney! I am just visiting Knoxville and they were able to fit me in just one hour before my massage. I could not recommend the Retreat enough to people looking for a really high quality massage and spa experience at a much lower price (there was a 20% discount for the month of January). I would definitely come again even without the discount though. The deep tissue massage includes cupping as well as 2 little hot stones towards the end that were a really nice surprise. Courtney was AMAZING and was able to adjust to whatever pressure I wanted as well as focusing on the areas that I needed massaged the most. After the massage, there is a wonderful little relaxation room where you can sit on a comfortable couch and sip on hot tea or bottled water. I am quite picky with my massages, and I am so glad I came here! read more

My experience started off great, with a slightly discombobulated albeit a very friendly Al ( He was filling in for the regular front desk person ) checking me in. This was my first time here and I did not know what to expect. I arrived at 11:05am for an 11:15am appointment. Promptly at 11:15am, my massage therapist, Courtney, appeared from the back, from which she whisked me away to . After washing my hands per CDC guidelines, Courtney then proceeded to knead my tense, achy muscles into a big bowl of human shaped jello. The facility was clean and very conducive to relaxation. The staff were friendly and efficient. My therapist was very skilled and knowledgeable about the muscle groups she was massaging. I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon. read more

Love, love, love The Retreat, Allyson and her staff! I started going to Allyson at their first location on Erin DR in Bearden about 4-5 years ago when my massage therapist retired. I started going to the Fountain City location when it opened a few months ago. My favorite is a 90 minute Healing Herb Massage with hot stones... second would probably be a tie between The Hot Stone Massage and Pick Your Poison... eye brow tinting is amazing. If you love massages, give them a try, you'll be glad you did! Expand your massage boundaries!! If you have never had a massage, but are curious, go talk to them. This newest location of the Retreat is amazing. Allison and the team here are excellent therapists and couple that with the relaxing atmosphere they have created and you have an extraordinary experience. We just finished yet another couples massage here and I can't say enough great things about how relaxing and rejuvenating it was! Once we crawled off the bed and dressed again, we then went to the parlor area and finished off our time with some relaxing tea. It makes you wish you could just camp out there all day!! The staff was awesome, place looks cool, but the highlight was getting to meet Courtney. Not only did she answer all my questions but she was so kind and considerate. Wow ive never had such an experience in my life. I have been to the other places in town and they pale in comparison to the treatment I received at The Retreat. Let me start off by saying Courtney was Amazing!!! Dont let her size fool you! She made the experience for sure. I believe she worked knots out of my back that had been there since I was a teenager! Second the facility and rest of the staff are all on point. They have brought class to the business for a reasonable price. Cant beat them. I will return. I will recommend them to family and friends. If you haven't been to the new Retreat in Fountain City you are missing out. I booked a facial and the Esthetician Sonya was fantastic. She evaluated my skin and gave me recommendations for what she could do to help my skin looks it's best after just one treatment. Once we agreed, Sonya customized the best facial I have ever had.
