    Starter salad and soda bread
    Rachel D.

The location is off of a hwy. Very large building dark on the inside. The food was really good, very high quality taste and cooking style. Tasted authentic and not microwaved. We have the poutine, starter salad with apple slices, meatloaf and a burger with fries. The poutine was very hearty, but small for a starter made to share with the table. The meatloaf and potatoes and veggies were very good and also hearty and high quality. Thick mushroom gravy. The base of the gravy tasted like can or powder, with added veggies. That was the only thing of negative note. The table soda bread was really good and soft. The honey butter was delicious. The burger and fries was very good if not a little to greasy. But he said he'd get it again. We had the berry pie with a scoop of ice cream. The crust wasn't normal and spiced and it was really delicious. Hands down it was the best part of the meal. I got the gift card deal from Costco. The waitress tried to say I only had $80. On them and that Costco must have messed up, but the gift cards are preloaded. I won't accuse her of trying to gift herself a $20 tip off my gift card, but I had to matter of factly that she was incorrect and I'd like my $20 back on the gift card I'd never used. It was an odd exchange and interaction. I had cash to tip her. She seemed nice otherwise.

Husband surprised me for a wonderful dinner here! We arrived at 8:43pm not knowing they were closing at 9pm John helped us with both drinks and food and recommendations and not once rushed us out the door. This was my first time here but it definitely won't be my last even if I do have to drive an hour away from home. The cooks, staff and face of our night John really made our experience superb! Loved the ambiance here at Shawn O'Donnell's

Can't at all speak to the food, but had excellent service at the bar. Reasonable prices, large beer and whiskey selection, friendly bar staff. 10/10 will return

It's solid. Traditional Irish fare with generous portions. The restaurant is nice inside with comfortable seating and room for large parties. Service is typically fast and friendly. Pricing is good. Some dishes are better than others. I'm a big fan of the Guinness beef stew, the homemade chicken tenders and the turkey dinner. I was less impressed with the Irish broil - the meat was decent, but the marinade had an odd flavor that I ended up masking with gravy. Great beer selection including Irish favorites like Kilkenny, Guinness and Smithwicks.

Great food and the food came out fast. The service was little slow but think to many big parties showed up after I walked in. Great atmosphere will come back

Clean, great service, and great food. Love the food and service. The server was very polite and gave great service. We had live music playing good Irish tunes. Try them out for a nice cozy relaxing meal. This is agreat location for date night.

Rachael was a fantastic server. She handled a table full of senior citizens very well. Very cool decor. The gorgonzola burger was outstanding. The fries were seasoned perfectly.

Writing this review because we stopped here for breakfast and most of the reviews I read are for lunch and dinner. This is a good place to stop for breakfast. It was busy but we were seated right away. The service was good and efficient. Everything we ordered was good and if you're hungry or looking for something different the full Irish breakfast is a good option. I don't like black pudding so they were willing to give me two pieces of white pudding. I would definitely stop here again for breakfast or probably any time of day.

The food was so yummy. We had the corn beef and eggs Benedict. The staff was very friendly and the service excellent. The Irish themed music added to the overall feel of the place.

The service is good they were nice and helpful so I will give 1 star there. The ambiance is a lot if you have a hard time in crowds otherwise it's nice with live music 1 star. Food that I got was bacon cheese burger and it was pretty good the fries were good needs a little more salt and the burger was filling but hard to find a filling burger overall 4/5 stars

I stopped in at Shawn O'donnel's for lunch and had a totally excellent meal. The marbled rye tasted great. The caraway seed was very present and added to the great taste of the bread. The sauerkraut was on point! Tangy and crisp. But, the star of the sandwich, and rightly so, was the corned beef. So tender that it did not resist biting into and it melted in my mouth. All in all, a superb sandwich and a joy to eat! The wait staff was excellent. They didn't hover but always seemed to be available when I needed them. I was thoroughly entertained by the Irish decor. I've always wanted to visit Ireland, and I'd like to think it would be something like the atmosphere of Shawn O'donnel's.

This was my second time visiting Shawn O'Donnell's for breakfast and I must say, they are definitely up there on my list of great places to get brekky in the valley. The vibe here is definitely upscale Irish pub meets farmhouse; an ode, I'm assuming, to the previous establishment that made a legend of itself on the local scene over many decades. Shawn O'Donnell's kept many of the og The Farmhouse elements while making it their own. The morning menu features American-style favorites, and some traditional Irish grub too. They also have a full bar, and offer a brunch buffet on Sundays for just $22/person. On this Saturday morning visit, we shared a farmer's omelet and one of their giant cinnamon rolls. It was more than enough for the two of us. Can't wait to come back and try that brunch buffet!

Our server was the sweetest! It was our first time at O'Donells and looked forward to trying their famous fish and chips. Sadly we were 30mins too early for the lunch and opted in for the chicken fried steak and the O Donnell omelette. For the side of potatoes you can order either potato casserole or hash-browns. Chicken fried steak was off the chain. Gravy flavorful and steak crispy, juice and hot. I had the hashbrowns and Irish soda biscuit along with their jam. I don't know how I was living without ever having an Irish soda biscuit. So flavorful, fluffy with a good bite to it and add the jam it's a party in your mouth. Will def make a plan to visit one closer to home so we can try the famous fish and chips.

I was honestly shocked by how good the food was. I had initially assumed it might be a spot primarily for tourists, but a dear friend of mine who is a local mentioned that people in Victoria actually love coming here. She even noted that some friends from her children's school were there just the night before for an alumni weekend. The menu absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by the fish and chips; the fish was moist with a light batter and wasn't oily at all. The burgers, Irish stew, and shepherd's pie were all delectable as well. The real standout, however, was the sockeye salmon in a pesto preserved lemon broth--it was so addictive that I wish I could replicate the recipe at home. It is very easy to see why this spot has received so many accolades, and I would love to return the next time we are back in Victoria!

Their burgers are awesome, the tater tots are creative and delicious. I tried the steak tacos the recently and they were very tasty, although the tortillas were slightly over toasted, resulting in a bit more crunch than you'd expect. Service is usually good. The bartenders handle table service, so you could end up with more than one person waiting on you rather than having a dedicated server. This can result in slower service times when it's busy, but that's the nature of the beast.

Our waitress was so kind! We started off with the calamari and pork belly bites. LOVED the calamari - perfect spices and flavor to it, loved the addition of banana peppers. Usually they put fresh jalapenos with it at other places. The pork belly bites were a nice appetizer and the marination was pretty good. A little chewy to my liking but was not bad! We saw that they had the fiesta flight and my buddy really wanted to try it so we did! There were 4 mini margaritas: the blue Hawaiian, the raspberry coconut, the spicy classic and the peach. The peach was my absolute favorite! The others were OK -- the blue Hawaiian was literally like the blue Hawaiian juice (my buddy said it tasted like koolaid so not the best...). The raspberry coconut was a little off...not sure what it was. With the flight, it came with 3 little appetizers. Shrimp ceviche, mango and other fruits with Tarin and Mexican crema corn (there's a name for it but blanking...) Shrimp ceviche was not bad, a touch of pico de gallo. The mango fruit with Tarin was definitely different - you can taste the spice! I didn't really like the Mexican creama corn...flavors were kind of off and there was more cream than corn. Our main entrees were pretty delicious! They ran out of the braised pork shank. I settled with the hangar steak. Loved the carrots, snow peas and mash potatoes. My buddy got the grilled salmon and that was DELICIOUS! We also got the loaded potato skins which were a nice appetizer to end the night. (Yes we got a lot of food! My buddy and I tend to do that on our food adventures lol) Lots of screen TVs as expected around the restaurant and it was mariners night so the staff was easy to identify. We'd come back!

The town pretty much shuts down at 6pm!) We grabbed a table by the window, ordered a giganto piece of coconut cream pie to share (and an equally generous slice of chocolate bourbon pecan to take back to the RV for breakfast the next day). Both were delish, but if we had to choose again the coconut cream pie was the best of the two. They also offer savory pies here, so let's just say we'll be stopping in again soon!
