Have stopped by the rhined twice now for their wine tasting (last Thursday of each month - $5 for 3 wine tastings with mini cheese pairings. Great deal!) and got a charcuterie board as well last time. Everything has tasted amazing and the service has been impeccable. Everyone there seems excited about their job and really happy. Hands down the coolest cheese shop in the area. The shop is small but they always have tons of good cheese options and let you try anything you want. The staff is super knowledgeable and will guide you in the right direction if you have questions or want help putting together a spread. The pimiento cheese dip is to die for!!! I've purchased a meat and cheese tray several times for gatherings and everyone always comments on how beautiful the tray is, and how delicious the cheese, meats, and accompaniments are. I finally got to try some yummy cheeses from The Rhined! My boss gifted me a gift card to use sometime while we've all been safely staying home, and I decided to have a nice Wine Wednesday. I ordered what I think was the big cheese and charcuterie tray and between my boyfriend and I, that tray didn't stand a chance. We ate it ALL. We had a few favorites that we said we could gladly order again on a smaller cheese board, but overall I'm glad we got to try a nice variety of what The Rhined has to offer! Even now, when I'm planning something special with friends, I make the trek to come here. These people don't just love cheese, they know everything about it. In town for a friend's birthday. We sat at the bar around 8:30/9 PM and ordered a selection of cheese and some soppressata. The salumi was a nice cracked peppercorn, great jam pairing with some dried figs and apricots. The cheeses were a bleu, Roquefort like cheese, a gooey and wonderful option and a herby goat cheese with some crostini made in house. The woman - Christine, I believe - working was great conversation, welcoming and funny. To go with the cheese we had a nice bottle of French rosé. Cheese flights! The Rhined is a super fun addition to the Findlay Market area. You can come in here to buy some cheese to take or stay for a tasting. It's really fun to sit at the bar and watch them create plates. They also have a few high top tables. They DO have their liquor license now so don't forget to order a beer or wine to enjoy with your cheese plate. They even sell wines by the bottle. They have some pre-created plates but you can also make your own or ask the bar tenders to make something for you based on your likes/dislikes. They have some fantastic nuts, spreads and dried fruits to go with your cheeses that really make it all come together. They also now have little to-go-snack-packs ($10) which is such a perfect idea - looks like they give you a little bread, cheese, meat and nuts/fruits/spread. Love this little cheese shop facing Findlay! Don't let the size of the store fool you - they have a wide selection of cheeses and wines (apparently they have over 35 wines!). I been to The Rhined a couple of times on Saturday nights and this has become one of my favorite weekend activities! I love cheese but don't normally purchase special cheeses because I can never finish them. The Rhined offers the perfect solution with a variety of cheese boards you can choose from. They also have a wine flight with a cheese pairing on Friday and Saturday nights. The staff is super friendly, knowledgable, and passionate about what they do. Stephanie, one of the owners, was a biology major and taught the subject for a while so you can geek out while you enjoy the cheeses. I finally ushered myself in here after passing by that charming "Curd to your Mudder" sign too many times. The Rhined unwinds its charm in bits and pieces, so you have time to slowly sip your wine. Let's break down the pieces, cheese by cheese: 1) When you think cheese and wine, you usually think classical music/pinky rings/royal noses. Throw all those body parts in the hamper, and roll out Ludacris' "Rollout." That's right, this is a cheese/wine shop with a hip-hop step. 2) Become friends with the $6 Havarti Cheese Sandwich. Start a texting group with the flavor and price, and then let them do all the talking in your mouth. 3) Holler @ the self-swipe credit card menu, for not soliciting a gratuitous tip. Most coffee shops etc now suggest extra for 3-4 seconds of service, but ironically this was the first time that I actually felt like giving extra. 4) The Rhined has events happening every week, and it looks like many sell out (check FB). Also, don't think of this as a place you swiftly shop for artisanal dairy and then make like a baby and head out.....this is where you can enjoy some delicious cheeses, charcuterie, and booze, but in a casual/cool setting. The manager,she selected an Italian wine with a bit of a chill on it that reminded me of what my family made when I was growing up. Then I could not help myself from staring at a stack of cheese so of course I had to add a cheese board with some Prosciutto which was amazing to my now growing in size lite lunch. And again the manager selected a Pinot Noir also spot on. I could not stop talking I was so excited and the manager and another young lady that was also extremely pleasant both made my time there wonderful. I will be back and you should go as well. Cute little shop adjacent to Findlay Market. They specialize in "local" cheeses. The person behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable on what they had to offer and let us sample several cheeses. She explained that they offer wine and cheese flights in store, which sounded awesome but we were getting cheese to make a board at how for happy hour. We selected 3 cheese with her help. The shop also had items to add to your cheese board, and small greeting cards. I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff and the cuteness of the shop. The cheeses were wonderful. Wine and cheese - my guilty pleasures. We stopped in at The Rhined for a happy hour. We each got a $5 glass of the house red. For three people, we got 2 cheese flights and added one meat. The worker was extremely helpful, asking what types of cheeses we like and dislike and selecting our flights based off of that. When she dropped off the cheese, she did an excellent job explaining all the different cheeses and suggesting pairings with the jams and nuts. The inside of The Rhined is really cute. This is the cutest little cheese shop everrrr. I popped in last week to snag a sandwich for lunch. Each week they have one sandwich they serve and usually post what it is on Instagram so check that out before you go. They have cheese flights as well as wine flights. I was the only person in the store at that time and the two girls working were so friendly (I think one was the owner)! She gave me a few cheese samples and they were delicious. The Rhined is a cute and cool cheese and wine shop. I had the pleasure of experiencing this cuteness one night for their cheese and wine tasting class with Tiff D. We have a blast and a bunch of great laughs, all while learning about cheese and wine pairings. The wine and cheese were both very good. It was fun to meet new people as well as the staff. Stefanie, the owner, was super cool and informative. Her husband, Dave, was also extremely sweet and helpful. Together they make a great team. Lauren was the wine expert and she sure did know her wine. Her and Stef work well together to put on great classes. Extremely nice people. Our tasting consisted of about 6-7 cheeses and wines. It lasted 1.5 hours. They tell you about each pairing, why it's paired together, where each (cheese & wine) came from, and what's unique about each cheese and wine. It was very interesting to learn about the different cheese and wine origins and how they are made; as well as, what they pair with. It was a very fun and informative class. Super Father's Day weekend. We were touring the Findlay Market, which is great, but it's one of those Cincinnati days where it is SO hot and humid. We found a little oasis in The Rhined. It was cool and we cozied up to the bar for some chilled cava and Chardonnay. The idea lodged in our head that we would skip dinner -- someone (ahem) forgot to make reservations -- but a draining afternoon made the prospect of heading out later to dinner seem like a bad idea. The solution? Putting together a cheese and charcuterie board. These ladies know their cheese, and we sampled everything while drinking our wine. We also discovered they have a patio. Perhaps a site for use during cooler weather? The Rhined is great. Largely domestic cheeses, but sophisticated and flavorful nonetheless. I tried this place out on "raclette night" (wednesdays during winter) and loved it. The cheese trays are full of extra goodies that go great with the cheeses; candied pecans, jam, hard bread, pickles, and more. I even tried a blue cheese that I enjoyed, and I've never tasted one I could handle before. The raclette dish was something I've never had before but It was delicious. Came here with a girlfriend to check this out the other night and holy moly am I sad it took me this long to stop by! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, so much was locally sourced. If you love cheese you need to stop here! The wine I had was pricey but delish. The pickles though, OMG! They are house made, I've never in my life thought to pickle a green bean but I need to learn how to make them! I've been there a couple times, and the staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about every cheese. Between my last couple of visits, ive tried the blue, soft and the changing featured cheese flight. They also come with fried fruit (apricots and figs), candied pecans and fruit jam/apple butter. What a cute little place in OTR. Its very convenient to go to at Findley market and its right across from the streetcar stop. Its a small place so three aren't a lot of places to sit if you are wanting to eat cheese and drink wine. They have different options you can choose from as far as a cheese plates goes. They have stinky cheese, soft cheese, international cheese or you can choose the cheese monger and they will pick out 3 of their favorites. They have some beer and wine to choose from. I thought their wine list was really nice but they only had a couple that you can get a glass of. Which is understandable with it being such a small place. The girls are very knowledgeable about the cheese they have. However, they don't really give you a lot of detail or ease you into ordering and it felt a little awkward sitting down and ordering cheese. We weren't really sure what we should do. they just gave us a wine menu and waited for us to tell them we are ready. It would have been nice and more welcoming if they asked has how we were, if we have been before, and if we needed any help. Its not really a big deal but it would have made me more comfortable being in there and felt more comfortable to ask questions, which I had. I would like to come back on a Friday or Saturday night and do the wine and cheese tasting. That sounds like fun. It is a cute little place and I'm glad Cincinnati has I place like this! read more

I'd be hard pressed to review a cheese shop and NOT give it 5 stars... The Rhined is no exception. My gal pal and I had our eyes on The Rhined for MONTHS after stalking their Instagram and seeing the videos from Raclette night (Wednesday from 5-8 pm). Holy mother of melty cheese goodness! They basically set a half wheel of cheese under a bright light until it's melted to perfected, then they scrape of all the ooey gooey amazingness onto a pile of ham, potatoes, greens and homemade mustard. I can't begin to explain the explosion of flavor - so you MUST taste for yourself. Be sure to come early to snag a table - Raclette night is not one us Cincy folks mess around with! The Rhined is a very quaint shop (we're talking maybe four tables and six chairs at the bar) with basic decor that sort of feels like I'm being transported to France. It's very obvious their staff is passionate about cheese (as am I) and were gracious enough to let us stay a tad late (we didn't know they close at 8 p.m. until it was 8:30!) They also offer charcuterie boards, wine, beer, and cheese to go. I'll definitely be stopping by on the reg to curb my cheese obsession. read more

The Rhined was excellent! I stopped in to browse cheeses and ended up staying for a cheese flight and a mimosa. The cheesemonger allowed us to sample a few before we decided to grab a table, and was very knowledgable about their offerings. They offer several types of cheese flights - local, soft cheeses, stinky cheeses, blue, or cheesemonger's favorites. We went with the cheesemonger's choice, and got a good mix of cheeses (3 decently sized chunks, too!), along with house made whole grain mustard, some pickled veggies, cherry compote, dried apricots and figs, crostini, and house made candied pecans. Great deal for $12! I ended up taking home some 10 year cheddar; the oldest I've seen anywhere outside Wisconsin, and a small jar of bourbon Pawpaw jam from their accompaniments. The space inside is on the small side, just a few tables and the bar, and the drink selection isn't vast but curated nicely to pair with the cheeses. This place specializes in small batch Gourmet cheese and they will blow your mind. We came in for one so supplement the cheese board we already had. Needless to say we did not leave with one. The Prairie Breeze aged in Lava caves was fabulous. As were the others. It's a good thing they only carry a small selection at a time or my fridge would be full! All of Cheese! I am in love. I've been following The Rhined on Instagram and finally had a chance to stop in this past Sunday. I must admit, even though I had been dying to stop in, I was worried The Rhined had been over-hyped and I would leave feeling disappointed - but not even close. I am a lover of funky, earthy, weird wines and it is a blessing to have found a place that has weird, earthy, funky, DELICIOUS cheeses. I regret not catching the employee's name who helped me (woman, short curly hair) because she was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, to the point where both I and another customer thought she was the owner. But what I loved most was that when I said I liked the weird stuff, it wasn't met with "Oh, are you sure?" but instead great enthusiasm and excellent recommendations. I left with the Willoghby and the Dancing Fern, and they are both full of mushroomy flavors and earthy goodness. I very much look forward to having The Rhined be my go-to cheese shop! P.S.
