Rockefeller oysters- didn't like. Also they don't have Tabasco. Jerk egg rolls- were ok.

Had reservations, had a small wait time. The place was pretty busy but they couldn't handle the crowd. It was Mother's Day and they stated the kitchen was backed up. The service was not good I guess due to it being so busy. The food was mid but I did like the lollipop lamb chops. The lavender lemon drops were also good. They have live entertainment but they do charge a fee for that. 18% gratuity included. Menu items were overpriced. No changing stall for babies in the bathroom. Overall, if I did return it would be for entertainment only.

Hosted a brunch in their beautiful semi private room. Shaneka the owner, Brooke, and the host Jada were all simply wonderful throughout the planning process including the day of. Jada, our host was very attentive, asked questions, was visible throughout the entire time assisting and making sure everyone was taken care of. I especially appreciated that she ensured that the temperature of the room was comfortable as it became stuffy after a while and she adjusted the temp accordingly. She also ensured that everyone's alcoholic beverages were billed individually as I requested. The brunch menu was exactly what I had requested, delicious, hot and fresh and regular beverages were served timely as well. The tables were already set up with beautiful linen and silverware. We were even accommodated with an extra tables for sweets and gifts. The music was on point too. Thanks so much for making the process seamless!! Our Meet and Greet event was a perfect success!

Had a party of 10 for a birthday celebration. It took 30 minutes to get acknowledged after being seated, drinks came randomly one at a time over the next hour. Two hours later we got to order food. Which also came one plate at a time. So we did not get to eat together as a group, by the time the next plate came the other person was finished eating. Three orders were totally wrong and we did not want to continue to wait, so those three people did not eat, including the birthday girl. The funniest thing was we had to eat a $500 dinner with plastic silverware. The only good thing was the live entertainment, which was a little loud. Choose somewhere else for fine dining.

Catfish & Grits (the sauce was GREAT!)

My line sisters and I celebrated our AKA Anniversary at Rhoyal Bistro. The space offers ample, free parking, which we all appreciated. The ambiance is fun and welcoming. We visited on a Sunday, so we were able to take advantage of the Sunday Gospel Brunch that didn't have the entertainment surcharge. I enjoyed the Catfish and Grits. The portion was HUGE, so I had a pretty substantial doggy bag to take home. We also ordered a Mimosa Tower, which lasted us through our entire reservation. Our server made sure to bring us about 4 juice options, so everyone was able to create the mimosa they liked. DJ Bamn was there and provided great entertainment. When the music got too loud, he graciously accommodated our group by turning the volume down and turning the speakers in a different direction. The owner came out to greet us and even took pictures with us. All in all, we had a great experience. Since we visited, I've recommended Rhoyal Bistro to several friends. I hope to return soon! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

3.5 stars actually. This was a black owned live music and sit down restaurant. This restaurant has been on my radar for a couple of months and actually I wanted to do the brunch there initially .. My group made reservations to be in attendance for the live musical performers this Friday evening. Pro The food came out promptly The drinks are strong Beautiful decor Intimate vibes Mature crowd Parking lot Cons Too many rules 90 mins time allots on days you have live entertainment is dumb The band came after start time and took 1hr break We paid 15 dollars to see the performance, why should we be short changed! If 75 percent of your party isn't present you can't be seated Expensive in my opinion

Grilled Lamb Chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus

Rhoyal Bistro LIVE for date night was a 10 out of 10. The decor is BEAUTIFUL. The 4 ladies completely transformed that space from when Dixie Kitchen was in that space. For appetizers- Rhoyal Tiger shrimp and Seafood cakes. Shrimp and that dipping sauce 10 out of 10. Seafood cakes 8 out of 10. Entrees-Fried Catfish paired with baked macaroni and cheese and cornbread. The fish had the right amount of crunch and moisture Grilled Lamb Chops that were cooked medium well had the right amount of flavor. Very moist, tender and succulent. The mashed potatoes were very buttery and fluffy. Cocktails not pictured: tequila sunrise and lemon drop with tequila both crafted perfectly. The Margarita Flight: This was a pleasant surprise. I liked that the flavors were bartenders choice so you had no expectations based on selecting own flavors. The best part of my entire experience was Nadia. The level of service she gave was outstanding. She was attentive, upbeat, fun, and friendly. Even after dropping dishes on her feet she continued working in pain with a smile and positive attitude. She definitely deserves recognition for that. Adding Javon Watson and his band tied everything all together.

Such an impressive space; beautiful decor, lighting and seating. There is also a very nice aroma in the air from a unique diffuser. The live DJ was mixing some old school gospel. The energy was amazing and the vibe was soulful. There was so much to do while waiting for the food; so many pretty spots for photos, clapping and praising. Our server Mike had nine of us to please. He was the kindest most patient young man. Aiming to please was his goal. He took really good care of our table. Niki was also available to help; very professional and friendly. Drinks were delicious, as some of us had two. There was such a spread of food. Catfish and grits with a nice rich gravy. Waffles with bacon and the classic chicken and waffles. Very good waffle; almost cake like. Served with whipped butter and a bourbon, maple syrup. Need I say more? Chicken, nice and crispy. Good flavor. Belly is full and I am happy. Please make a reservation and give yourself permission to have a good time.

Enjoying a BRUNCH with my Lil Sis and having great a time with our server Celeste... The ambiance, mimosas and food out the world.

For a GNO, I gathered up my crew to see two classic Def Jam Comedy stars. When we were in college we would gather around the tv set and cackle for the hour-long special. Kenny Howell and Pierre were two of the first comedians to appear on the show and we couldn't wait to see them live! EBT is a nice-sized venue in the south suburbs with chic decor. The only issue I had was with the service. I arrived about 15 minutes after my party and the already had drinks. They informed me to go to the bar to order because no servers were coming around (although I saw several wandering about aimlessly). I ordered a drink and since I was informed about the slow waiters, o ordered food as well...the Parmesan garlic chicken wings with fries. The bartender was very friendly and fast and I wanted to leave her a nice tip on my card, but there was no tip option. So strange cuz you can literally buy a Streetwise newspaper from a Streetwise vendor and there's a tip option on their not-pad. had to scrounge up some singles from my bottomless purse to tip her. ANYHOO, I go back to my table and told my crew I ordered food and if they wanted some, they needed to go to the bar. As they hemmed and hawed, a disgruntled young man came by and disgruntledry (yes, I make up words ) took their food order. Moments later a server came with my order and asked me to pay but I told her I paid at the bar. She looked at me skeptically but I insisted I did and she should go ask the bartender. About 15 minutes later the disgruntled dude came back with everyone else's order his disgruntledness was so obvious, we were slightly uncomfortable. But that's when I noticed you could leave tips on the waiters iPads. The lady came back around to check on us so I bought another drink and gave her a tip. I mean, ain't nobody out here waiting tables for no tip. We all shared wings, tacos, salmon and jerk rolls and the other good part is that the food was phenomenal! Perfectly seasoned, sauced and no leftovers. The other great thing about EBT is the owner Tiffany. What a gracious host! She was friendly, hospitable and made everyone feel comfortable. You can tell she cares about her establishment. I hope she's able to find a good FOH manger/supervisor to help that aspect of the biz run smoother. All in all, it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back for another show. If you're a city-dweller, it's worth the trip.

I don't know why some event spaces do this, but to get into the bathroom stall, you have to turn sideways because the toilet is very close to the stall door. I love the loft looking ceilings. I'm considering hosting an event here. I'm not sure if the owner herself offers decorating services, but the place was impeccably decorated.

They have a few parking spaces in the front of the building with a larger lot in the rear. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server Michaela was very friendly and suggested a few food items for my wife which were GF. I started with the House Old Fashion and my wife had the Bee's Knees. Both were very good and cost 10.00 each. For lunch I tried their Pecan Whiskey BBQ wings. 5 wings cost 10.00. They were good size and very tasty but I didn't taste any of the Pecan Whiskey flavor. My wife had the Barbacoa Tacos which were filled with braised beef. She could only eat 2 of them so I had the third taco. Flavorful but I would have preferred more salsa or a dipping sauce. I wanted to try their Drop Dead Bourbon separately so I had a small tasting. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home. Cost was 60.00. The history of this distillery dates back to 1857 and is one of Illinois' oldest standing distillerys and was once Al Capones largest bootlegging facility during prohibition. I would love to go back and try a few more of their hand crafted cocktails and one of their signature burgers.

In addition to an intimate 410-seat thrust stage theater and an art gallery, this facility has a pair of elegant dining rooms for banquets and special events, and also a gift shop featuring handcrafted items. We were participants in a 'group package' which included a hot multi-course lunch followed by a matinee performance of "Ghost." The meal, consisting of lemon rice soup, a choice of Chicken Tetrazzini or Beef Stroganoff, and chocolate cake, exceeded our expectations. Though basic, this 'comfort food' was yummy, attractively plated, and served at just the right temperature. They were a bit parsimonious with the rolls and a basket of crackers (the latter was whisked away as soon as we finished the soup), but otherwise the portions were ample and the servers were genial and attentive. Afterwards, we had time to explore the gift shop and art gallery. The restrooms are immaculate. The theater has comfortable seating with generous legroom and excellent sightlines. Although the scenery and props for "Ghost" were minimal, the performance was so absorbing that we soon became too engrossed to notice the bare-bones setting. We also enjoyed chatting with General Manager Richard, who likes to mingle with the guests. If only the staffs at other fine arts venues were as personable and informative. All in all, it was a perfect day.
